I own an E60 530 bmw, and selling once I get the brake pads and sensors done. I prefer the E92 330 or 335i coupe, but due to 2 bad buys this year, Im having to drop budget to between £1500 to £3000. Im an ex British Army veteran, and disabled with a broken back disability, from Southampton. So getting in and out of a car can be fun. Plus only an auto is an option. Ive seen some nice Mini Cooper S or JCWs on 04 to 07, some in my price range. Don't know anything about the mini. Am I right in the auto on Cooper S came out on 05 to 06. So ideally an 07 2nd generation Mini Cooper S or JCW auto is something Im considering. Im 47, overweight due to meds, and use walking stick. So no need for wheelchair yet. Im 5'8". Although a small car, Ive never had a chance to try and get in and out of one. Will the Mini Cooper be a pocket rocket bone shaker, or smooth like an E90 or E60 Bmw. If I can get in and out of one easily, thst doesn't shake me about too much, in good condition. Do you think I could find a nice 07 to 09 like this 08 in ideally £2200 to £3,000 budget. Of course maybe closer to 90 to 100, 000 mile unlike this 70,000. Its nice to find a specialist witj a passion on a video. Ive had 33 cars, but my favs are my 7 VW Golf Gtis and 9 Bmws. Love a mini if I cant find an E92 330i. When Im ready to sale my E60, I would prefer to buy a nice cheap one from a specialist like yourself, rather than private seller. As you will check the car is all ok, new mot if asked. Im still doing my homework, and never owned a mini. Ive also seen Mini clubman sports on 2010 ish cheap also. I liked this video. Although 33 cars since June 91. Most from 04 to 2014 were £50 to £1000 cheapies. Due to aplit from ex in 01. Plus Being declared homeless bankrupt the lot in 06 when forced out of work due to health. Been an ongoing 26yr ongoing health nightmare. I struggled without DLA and needed a car to get to and from Hospital. Finally in 2015 got all the evidence after 5 back ops. Got PIP snd on proper benefit at last. I bought a nice cheap VW Mk 4 V5 2.3 Auto 170bhp facelift. Immaculate car. Wantec V6 4motion or R32. No auto R32 til Mk 5 and V6 bit dear then. I sold it in Feb 2017 to get an E60 330i Msport Steptronic in grapite grey. I did my usual Asthetical colour coding etc. Was pristine. Sold in Feb 2018 to get dream E92 08 335i Msport Steptronic in black. I did same Asthetics wise, and remapped to 370bhp 500nm 0to60 in 4.5secs. Was a beast. I almost died last Nov, so wanted to get an E93 335i Msport le mans blue as never owned a convertible. It a dream before I may end up in a wheelchair. I got it Dec 2018. The car was a bad buy, and I spent loads on it, and still not right. So decided in Feb this year to deowmsize from E93 335i to E90 or E92 330i or E60 530i. So got an 05 E60 530i Msport. Which was worse than the 335i. So got refund, but still lost money elsewhere. I managed to find a trader who had an 05 E60 530i facelift. Told him my issue. He knocked £600 off as it was a trade in. He said no issues, which I said please no issues after last two cars. He said no lights on etc..when I got there the brake pads and parking sensors lights were on. I wasn't happy. He said they are easy fixes. To which I said, You assured me no lights etc, knew my recent nightmare, and Ive just travelled by train to you on your promise. He apologised cause his nephew workef for him and not very sharpe. They had 3 cars like mine there. He got mixed up. The no issue car was dearer. The trader gave me credit back to buy pads and sensors. Cause he normally double checks etc. Ive only driven it 9 times since Feb sue to ill health. I put brand new 19" BBS LM reps on with all matching new tyres. Im selling alloys seperate to pay my dad back, and buying cheap standard set. Im getting work down in early Nov. So soon as done, on the market. Luckily I have a nice buffer from him dropping price etc. So hoping to have after few bits paid off, about £2000 to £3000. Sorry live alone with a broken back disability OCD PTSD and traits of Aspergers. Back tablets have kicked in big time and floating on the sofa with a redy brek glow loving the world again type and talk for England me OCD style lol. Just thought Id share my recent nightmare. Actually - wouldn't recommend any.... Have had issues with first gen autos.....
Second gen (R56 / R57) have been good in my experience.
