      Let’s be honest, it’s largely contingent on how others feel about you. A lot of arrogant guys and gals get away with it because of the halo effect and vice versa. There is a distinction, sure, but for the most part it’s down to how others revive you. A handsome arrogant man with get away with it in a way an average man simply won’t.

      @@johnboy1760 nah, as you could see, halo effect can only get you so far. of course it's individual, i think the overconfident guy could pick up a lot of girls who would let it slide. but personally, he lost a lot of points when he opened his mouth, i seriously wouldn't give him more than 4 after that. and he's actually visually exactly my type, i love facial har. and of course 5 girls doesn't say anything about the reality. but you can find research on that. not a loy has been done in the field of non-hetero relationship, but in hetero ones it crearly shows that confidence is great but being overconfident and too focused on yourself is not the best, on avarage. because obviusly the life is not only statistics. so many things influence our decision making when it comes to dating that you CAN'T, and probbaly we never will be able to, pin point exactly. best thing to do is to be yourself and just find someone who works with you, unless you are actually hurting others by being toxic. for example, in this video, the overconfident guy is not hurting anyone. he might be annoying for most girls but hey, he found the one for him

      You're actually right. Most of guys who are put in the friendzone like that fell on that trap by staying involved with that same girl thinking that someday she'll give the guy the chance of an relationship.
      If and I mean if you actually want to be friends with that girl and its reciprocal then sure I guess its cool. But if you want more than just an friendship, an relationship but she friendzoned you then you should cut ties with her and move on.

    • @laly2482
      @laly2482 2 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      Yep. They know their boyfriends will know what their rating was, so they rate their boyfriends higher.
      Honestly, to make it even less biased they shouldn't allow the women to include the boyfriend in the ranking at all, they should only allowed to rate the other guys in terms of attractiveness, and they shouldn't be able to hear any of them speak beforehand to avoid emotional voting based on who seems the nicest or who's the most douchebag.

    • @meganmeehan1565
      @meganmeehan1565 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@laly2482 I agree. I feel like in these ratings, it’s always such a disingenuous result. Men do this as well I noticed, but especially women vote based on not hurting someone’s feelings, what the other girls think & what they think the audience will think of them. None of it is honest. Well maybe like 5% is. But you could tell that they almost always rate the least attractive guys not last. And sometimes put them at the top. Not because they genuinely believe it, but because they think the more conventionally attractive guys can ‘take it’, as far as the results hurting their self esteem. Not just this video, but most of these jubilee rating videos. I just know how women think, because I used to operate like that when I was single and men approached me. It’s hard for women to be completely honest with men when it comes to finding them attractive because we don’t want to hurt feelings. We think we’re just being nice. Not saying it’s right, looking back it’s better to be honest than give someone a false sense of hope, but that’s the reason.

    • @laly2482
      @laly2482 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@meganmeehan1565 In these type of videos I think it's mainly what the audience thinks of them that has the more impact, and on this case particularly what the boyfriends feel as well because obviously then it becomes personal, since the person you're with will probably feel some type of way if you said you find other people more attractive.
      What I don't understand it's, if they're so concerned with hurting feelings and how the other person would feel when you rate them on their looks, why even volunteer to do something like this? It makes no sense to me. Also, why would you volunteer you be rated on your looks if you're insecure or if you know it'll hurt your feelings to be rated low? Basically these people are giving their consent to be judged on their appearence, for what, an ego boost?
      The whole walking on egg shells and sugar coating things just in case of hurt feelings and bruised egos personally would bother me more than someone being straightforward and insulting me to my face to be honest. Had a lot of fake people in the past complimenting me and then talking behind my back like some kind of Regina George wannabe, because of that I feel some kind of way when people I don't really know that well give me compliments because I can't tell if they're honest or not. If they're like "Omaaagoshh, you're sooo cuteeee", I'm like NO, stop it.

    • @meganmeehan1565
      @meganmeehan1565 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@laly2482 yeah I completely agree with you. Why subject your boyfriend to something like this? Even when they put their bfs first, The rest of their pics seemed insincere as well. And that’s the thing, most of the audience can sense that these ratings are disingenuous and call them out. So you’d think it would hurt the peoples self esteem even more. But that’s where I think people being kind over honesty hurts people in society more so then helps. Like a lot of people see being kind as a net positive but don’t really discuss the downfalls of it. The whole thing is fake and forced. People need to get back to being honest. Not to say you have to be honest in the sense where you say things to intentionally hurt someone’s feelings. But we need to stop normalizing people saying things that they don’t actually mean or feel only because they think it’s the right thing to say or if they just don’t want to hurt peoples feelings. And if you can’t do that, don’t go on a show like this, people see right through that. As far as the girls you are taking about who give compliments and talk shit behind ur back, that’s called an insecure bitch. Thank God when you become an adult, you have the freedom not to associate with people like that. Whereas when you’re in school, you have no choice to be around them day in and day out. One of the perks of getting older. lol although there are insecure bitches in society no matter where you go. But thankfully for the most part, people do mature and grow out of the cattiness you speak of after high school.

I personally thought he was the most attractive person there just by looks. Not to say he’s the hottest guy I’ve ever seen, but I don’t think he was insecure or delusional in his assertion. Edit: and even if u don’t think he is attractive, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t being honest. You are being honest as far as ur opinion of him. He was being honest of his opinion. I said objectively speaking he isn’t the most attractive (because anyone can rightfully find themselves more attractive & be voted more attractive) You’re saying he was being honest but what does that have to do with anything? They all could’ve rightfully asserted themselves. One type or society of women might vote him as most attractive and a different won’t even consider him close to attractive.
