Believer has a driving beat right away and has a huge advantage - it has a massive drop. You can perfectly time your moves to that drop. Even in ep 2, shocked at how JB's Peaches was considered a 'battle' song at all. I remember this was one the biggest criticisms in SWF too. Although I do not know the results, I believe the judges decision would have been mixed. Some would prefer the challenging and technical aspects of Dan while some would prefer the fluidity and relaxed nature of Kino.

Peaches by JB isn't a disadvantage for me. It's actually an advantage if you really know how to play the game. Peaches is a famous song so every beat and lyrics most dancers know hence it's easier to be on a beat than random songs you wouldn't know.
Taehyun is right! Some dancers know only how to do the stunt while missing the choreography. I’m glad taehyun can actually do both 🥳 Here you can clearly tell that Kino is REALLY dancing. I mean look at his evaluation video

You can't call yourself a Street Dance program and ignore one of the most important things in a battle. How are we supposed to compare the two when they have completely different music that can be an advantage or disadvantage for the dancer as you can see here. Dans music was way better. This was already criticized a lot during SWF, I don't get why they didn't change it. While I would give it to Dan I think he should have coordinated his moves more with the music, the end was good though. I'm a big fan of Kino so I hope he will make it.

I watched this without bias. I honestly think Kino won. He showed variety in his moves and battled. Sadly I know he can do much much better. I think the music choice could've been better and he could have shown his expression more. Dan danced true to his style but it was repetitive and the footwork was a bit sloppy.
I personally prefer Kino a bit more. Dan is good but it didn't felt like he was dancing, but just doing crazy stunts. There's really not much groove or rhythm to his dance battle that pulls me in honestly.
Well breaking it's about "crazy stunts" and it's a dance, so yeah, it has a rhythm and Dan proved that he know how to match breaking movements and the killing part of the song. In anyway Kino did a great job.

I want them both to proceed to the next round. In this video, Dan did better since he shows lots of tricks and the song choice is more catchy and intense unlike Kino. Seems like the idol contestants are not advantageous in this round. Hoping Kino will be given second since many are rooting for him

I enjoyed and was shocked by Dan's performance more, it was probably bcs of the song choice and his great techniques, especially at 1:27 but it completely blew my mind away!! now i kinda realise why there is such a difference between an idol dancer compared to a professional street dancer, i never felt this excitement before seeing dance battles at another class outside of kpop, street dance is on another level. i hope mnet continues to make shows like swf and smf as seasons like show me the money.

How did this dance battle work? I’m guessing it was freestyle but was their songs played randomly? Cos if not then I don’t think it’s quite fair. It seemed like Dan didn’t know the song he was given and I think it’s harder to Freestyle to if you dk it than the song kino was given. That said, kinos choreo was more put together and varied. It didn’t even look that much like a freestyle, that’s how in sync with the beat he was.
Sorry but is Mnet not able to research about how dance battles usually work? they add videos of previous dance battles but can't match one song to one battle. I never saw a dance battle where each one gets a different song. It doesn't work like that. And btw its obvious that one gets a good song to dance on and another one gets a slow song. Sorry but this is really amateur. Professional tv companies should at least have capable employees who could at least do this easy work right.
On street woman fighter this problem was actually discussed by the female dancers. At least they fixed the judge problem and used qualified dancers for this show. I would trust the female dancers in this show just because they really know how international and national dance battles work regarding the judgement, quality, music etc. Please Mnet fix the music choice too.

Well, they both danced to SMF. That's part 1 of the battle round. Part 2 is freestyle, so they can showcase their strength.
