Benji,was an amazing dog i think he once appeared on Sesame Street.The lassie also made an apperiace on seasme street.when the show was in syndication on niceklodeon in the 90's,earned a whole new generation of fans both young and old.
Buddy(Air Bud), the pitbull, Golden retriever, and Siamese cat in Homeward Bound:The Incredible Journey, the sifaka lemur from Zoboomafoo, Crystal the Monkey(Night At The Museum, The Hangover, etc.), the jack Russel terrier in The Artist, the dogs in A Dog's Purpose, the lion for the MGM logo, Eddie(Jack Russell terrier) from Frasier, My Dog Skip, etc. The cat in Pet Semetary(1980s movie), etc. 📺🎬🎬🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥
"Air Bud" was my jam as a kid, and even the sequels were decent fun. 😁
No matter what role they have, big or small, ALWAYS give kudos to the animal actors!
The adorable little chihuahua who played Chloe in the Beverly Hills Chihuahua franchise! She’s SO cute!!
Yes! Especially her husband if you will Papi and their puppies and all the other dogs in the movies are so cute!
Animals in films and shows should always be cared for. If ever they’re in the midst of danger during filming, the whole crew behind the camera should be held accountable for whatever happens to them. They’ve brought so much joy that I know sometimes it can be hard to resist.
The studio require a disclaimer that no animals were harmed during filming

I never knew that Buddy died from cancer after filming the first Air Bud movie! I love those movies and the sequels of his puppies the Buddies!
AirBud was also Comet from Full House
I would also like to add my two favorite movie dogs that weren't mentioned. Pete the Pup from The Our Gang series and Luke the dog from the Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle films.
benji is my fave! i remember seeing those films when i was little...and homeward bound and beethoven..loved them too! i actually had a cairn terrier named toto as a kid

You forgot Orangey the cat from "The Shrinking Man" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and the Siamese cat from Disney's "That Darn Cat". Also Buck and Lucky Bundy from "Married with Childrem".
Bart was a great actor. He was admittedly a little typecast, but he *became* a bear in every movie he was in. He was very method.
I was hoping to see Tai on this list. She plays an elephant more convincingly than any other actor.

Keiko is still out there swimming in the seas of Norway. We just can't see him, that's all.

I had a dog named Rascal when the first Benji movie came out. It was amazing how much they looked like each other. The only difference I could see was in the slight curve of the tip of my dog's tail. But even through this, Bart was my favorite actor. I was sorry to see that he was only an honorable mention, but with over one thousand appearances under his wings, I can see why Jimmy got the top spot.
Animals can be great actors as long as they are treated right with the proper care

Benji because he's a small, unassuming "mutt," and the first Benji movie was the first movie I ever saw in a theater 🥰

I've got another list for you for these animals number one I would say would be the monkey from Night at the Museum another Capuchin which was in several films I believe I most recently saw him in the third Chipmunks movie, there's buttkis Stallone's dog in Rocky, Petey The Little Rascals, the dog in The Sandlot, Fred from Smokey and the Bandit, the monkey in Ace Ventura, the seal from Slappy and the stinkers, Shiloh from the movie Shiloh,

My great aunt and uncle owned a motel where Roy Roger's stayed and they happened to have a farm and boarded trigger for him while they were in town...
My grandmother loved telling me that story since she got to meet him...

My Favourite Animal Star is Beethoven the dog from the 'Beethoven' movies.
Pal lived to be 18. Not 20. And Higgins only played Benji in the first Benji movie. He died in 1975 a year after the first movie. His daughter Benjean took over the role in 1977's "For the Love of Benji." It was also Benjean in "Oh Heavenly Dog". Not Higgins. Higgins's son was Tramp on "My Three Sons".

Didn't know about that Raven, I only know about Toto in the Wizard of Oz, and of course other animal stars that I love.
Why was the lion in the MGM logo not mentioned? He probably has more screen time than all of these animals combined.
Chester the chihuahua was my first memorable actor in transformers even if he was in 2 movies wonder he's in a kennel?
