What a beautiful interview. Absolutely loved it. Manisha is such a pure soul. Love her and her work! The interviewer really carried the podcast very beautifully!
This is no filters Manisha Koirala. She candidly spoke, didn't pretend or hold back. She is a very real person. She spoke honestly about how her behavior changed with success, her drinking and smoking and her being a rebel and not only that she gives us viewers a great life lesson. She is probably one of the most genuine persons in the film industry.
Manisha Koirala is one of the successful actresses in the 90's and had hits like Saudagar, Gupt, Agnisakshi, Bombay, Indian, Kachche Dhage to name a few.
She has always been herself and that's her strength. No matter what she went through in life, she has stayed Manisha Koirala, not copying anyone, not trying to be anybody else, yes learning and adapting but not copying. As her fan, there are times, when one wishes, "Wish she did movies like Tabu or Madhuri Dixit or Karishma Kapoor", but the matter of fact is Manisha has always danced to her own tunes, fell flat on her face many times but she has never lost her individuality, never tried to be part of the herd, and never tried to be someone else. Why be a copy when you can be an original?
Yes…I love how she always remained her authentic original self. Despite this, she still was top actress in the 90’s. A star in her own right. Madhuri,Manisha and Juhi were the top 3 stars along with Karishma. Tabu was a fine actress from the start itself but her peak came after the 90’s I feel...And Manisha was way versatile compared to them too in a way bar maybe Tabu who’s just as versatile(but at that time Manisha experimented more doing amazing roles in both parallel and commercial cinema)..Her filmography might have some bad films but there are many amazing gems too. Still relevant to this day. Manisha was ahead of her times. Always an icon and will be forever too!

Tabu was also not popular like Madhuri but she kept on doing quality movies while Manisha stopped getting good roles for some time .
