After finishing both dlc's yesterday on nightmare, I can only imagine how hard is to play without a hud, not to mention that less then 1% of players will be able to do it, used to run and get top 10 for all maps on DOOM 2016 arcade mode but I just can't force myself through the pain of perfecting Eternal dlc's like you did here. First dlc was harder in my opinion, slayer gates were more insane. All in all, you got my sub and your vids are a joy to watch when I have time for them.

nightmare is the same thing of UN in terms of difficulty, and lightningbreak was the 1st one on doing the 1st UN playthrough in the game. Not saying ZeroMaster is bad or anything, but this DLC is far too ez. (i cleared it on UN this morning also)

The timing, speed and precision on display from you are amazing once again. I was personally disappointed in the dlc, the first level had interesting encounters, then the second one was a bit so so, and the last one very short, empty with lots of barren spaces and easy arenas. Definitely rushed and unfinished. Also they nerfed dlc1 thanks to casuals. They heavily underused new enemies and spammed vanilla super heavies in 2s as usual in the hardest parts, the only interesting enemies like the screecher, stone imp and awesome cursed prowler (like 3 in an entire dlc) were underused and they even cancelled the possessed archvile I was looking forward to. The marauder baron (excuse me, armored baron!), chaingunners (in aesthetics alone, even the name changed) and the utterly useless jekkadians were pointless reskins with rehashed mechanics. The dark lord fight was actually good and he got more and more aggressive as the fight progressed, I liked that a lot. They will probably nerf him too, guaranteed. What are your thoughts??
Some valid points but I enjoyed it. I agree the last level was rushed. However I really enjoyed the new enemies and the second escalation encounter on the first level was hard as fuck on nightmare. I’ve never died more than 3 times on any checkpoint in the base game or AG1 but I died like 15 times I think for that part. I am on Xbox though.
I enjoyed the second dlc way more than the first. It wasn't as much the difficulty as it was the storyline and the feeling of global combat. My only issue with the ancient gods 2 is that I didn't get to ride a battle mech into battle against one of the titans.

To me, the main problem with the final boss is the HP refill, it is just so, so, so annoying for me, especially since I have a hard time dodging all his dash attacks... I realized after a while that the chaingun shield can prevent him hitting you, but it's still just too much to manage for me at a 100% success rate. I thought I had a moderate control of my Doom Eternal resources up until that final boss, as he was just constantly refilling his HP to the max... and after a while it just felt unfair, mainly because I didn't know how exactly to trigger the green flash. To this day I haven't finished this boss (on UV), because I just don't know the consistant way to trigger his green flash thing, and I always end up getting dashed, and then his HP goes up to the max. I'm quite stuck at the last check point (his penultimate "life stage", with two of his lives left).

Watching videos like this makes it clear to me that the hammer is a much better design than the sword. An aoe stun/refill that incentivizes you to go after weak points is way cooler than a one-demon delete that you occasionally find pickups for.
You are insane dude, I love it. I bet that final boss fight would probably have been more frustrating for you if you had the HUD on and could see how much the boss was being healed every time you got hit! Obviously you know it's happening regardless but to see it refill makes it more annoying.
cool. now we just need a sub 4 hour 30 run of the entire game + DLC XD. nah in all seriousness though, its mighty impressive skill. very enjoyable to watch
PS Cursed prowler is the best enemy design in the entire dlc. Well, concept at least as its a reskin. But mechanics are great. Too bad there are only 3 or 4. He is very very fast, more so than the normal one, and will swipe you or shoot the poison projectile and then you are screwed because you cannot dash and you are seeing murky and degenning fast (although it stops just short of death, thank god, and you can heal it back but it keeps going down) at which point the cheeky bastard keeps running away and if you have no blood punch you are screwed!!! You need it to kill him apparently, I haven't tested other means yet. I made sure I prioritised him super quick, even if there were archies around. The thing is that he teleports and moves so much faster than a standard prowler, and is small and shifty, so sometimes you don't even see him until it's too late. Great design!!! I think they underused him because of the whiners, personally. These guys who have no patience and work ethic, and want to rush through nm for cosmetics and 100% like in an mmo, instead of playing on journalist difficulty. Then they are gone next week but the damage is done and the devs nerf dlc1 and make dlc2 easier than the first.
The demons are like, "You know Steve, it's quiet here...too quiet". And then a dude shows up with a super shotgun and proceeds to make mince meat out of you and your buddies
you can cheese the rolling stone imps with the shield of the chain gun, they explode instant they touch it. :) although it will porbably be patched out soon
What I ended up doing in the final fight is killing the wolves, getting the hammer charge, waiting for the demon spawns, killing them with the hammer, and glory killing two zombies to get the hammer charge back. Several times he opened up before he spawned the dogs again and I had no hammer charges, real frustrating.

It wasn't just the lack of difficulty that made this dlc a disappointment for me. It was also how short the levels were, how empty and devoid of demons even large open areas were. The final boss and ending was just so tedious and unforgivable. I mean really, a glorified marauder fight and I can't believe we had all that buildup for that weak ending. I was having a ton of fun at first and I love the new enemies and mechanics. I even tried to overlook the bad stuff and love it for what it is, but for me personally. The bad outweighed the good too much. Still always a great time watching Zero Master absolutely breeze through these though.
To summarize cursed prowler if u haven't know, u r slowed and can't dash but u can still jump and meat hook and blood punch seems to insta kill the prowler as you will see a big icon telling where it is where you are cursed
Empowered prowlers are the bane of my existance lost like 3 lives to them during my first Nightmare run of the game in super gore nest. So considering the cursed one prevents dashing and you have to kill it with a blood punch ? Yeah they are insanely strong. I have to ask tho what are your hotkeys for swapping weapons ?

Zero Master's approach is so pragmatic and efficient. No unnecessary flare, just get the kill quickly and keep moving. I love it.

You can get hammer back from glory killing the zombies in the boss fight so you don't have to wait for the wolves.
