- A song by Zhang Guangtian, a prolific musician of the new left in China, to the tune of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic", a feature it shares with the song "Solidarity Forever". The title is a reference to Mao Zedong's response to a group of Red Guards chanting for him in 1966. In 1989, a group of protesters echoed this sort of call and answer by responding with "long live the people" when passersby chanted "long live the students". Zhang Guangtian's songs have been highly controversial and some of which have even been censored by the government for tacitly praising the Cultural Revolution and opposing Deng Xiaoping's reforms. Originally released in 1993, the original recording of this song was the B-side to "Give Me Strength, Mao Zedong", one such song which did get censored.

Fantastic concept, praising the people instead of God really flips the song on its head and is so much more appropriate for the spirit of the song. But the lyrics in this one is not very good, too plain and too repetitive.
