It's 7-x. 7 is the number that speak French and Spanish (but some may or may not speak Italian also). X is the number that speak all languages (French, Spanish and Italian). So we subtract x from 7 to get the ones that speak French and Spanish ONLY.

Make sure the stuff in green + the intersection (x) = 7,9 and 11 respectively. We can do only do this by subtracting x

23+25+20-7-5-9+x=50 then u will get 9 and again subtract with 4 (the students who do not speak any language) then ur result will be 5. The method which u have shown is very time consuming and for competitive exam u will not get enough time to put this method and marking with x in every circle.
