    When you scooped the mids it's crazy how close it sounded to the AJFA tone. Definitely a faithful Boogie recreation. Great video. Subscribed!
    Also, PRS is aware of the noisy effects loop and I believe (but I could be wrong) that they'll repair it. Though I could just be talking out of my ass.

      @@CarstenStepanowicz I have send back my first model of PRS MT15 because of the noisy fx loop. Same problem with the new. So I have swapped 3 tubes (two is enough to fix the humm coming from the the fx loop).

    • @CarstenStepanowicz

    The problem (?) with the mt15 as a bedroom is the volume knob. You can choose between to loud and to quiet on the other side... thats not sensitive enough. In this case the lunch box size doen't make sense to me. So the engl fireball 25 with all the extras in it is much more beneficial and sounding awesome!!

    • @CarstenStepanowicz
      @CarstenStepanowicz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree the volume knob is sensitive but it's possible to get a decent volume level for home use. The ENGL compared to the MT15 is very different soundwise. And apart from the built in noise gate they are identical if I'm not mistaken. Plus the ENGL is more expensive. 🤓

    As a modern metal guitarist who plays in Drop E, I use this amp with presence, mids and treble at around 3 o clock, bass at around 12, gain at around 11, with a TS mini in the front with tone at around 2 and no gain and it can sound really djenty. But then I can adjust the settings and get a really sick sounding death metal tone, it's a really great amp, not to mention the cleans are also really smooth

    • @CarstenStepanowicz
      @CarstenStepanowicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! Sounds like a decent setting. Do
      you have issues with low tuning and low wattage amps regarding head room?

    • @owenwhitefoot
      @owenwhitefoot ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarstenStepanowicz Not at all really, the low tunings work great, I even play in double drop C in some songs and it holds up really well. The only issue I have with it is the lead channel volume, it gets really loud really quickly and it only starts to sound really good at a volume that would annoy other people in the house, so I need to get an attenuator for that.
      Although I don't have much experience with valve amps and headroom etc, as this is my first valve amp, I can't complain.

      I doubt that it's the only one. There are some 15W "practice" valve amps out there which are loud enough for band settings. My Laney IRT Studio for example is only on 1-2 in my room. Never had it over 5-6 in any case. Btw a totally underrated piece of gear imho.

    • @K707OR30
      @K707OR30 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not the only one. I own it and it’s a great amp and loud as hell but my Jet City JCA22H is plenty loud through a 4x12. No problems with volume in a band setting.

    • @sb6232
      @sb6232 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clarification:..Loud enough to hang with other 50 & 100 W tube amps-live and loud. Most, if not all are plenty to play with a band /drummer .. The EVH LBX S sounds killer, but gets a little lost when really pushing the volume..The PRS has the edge with the 6L6 or 5881 tubes and huge transformer. It's over built for a 15W amp (..kind of cheating..)

    I don't know if a 24 watt head through a big cabinet is a bedroom amp...

  • @tgchan
    @tgchan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm playing my Bugera 6262, a 120-Watt Valve amp connected to 4x12 v30 in the middle of the night with a person sleeping almost next room... and that's WITHOUT A MASTER VOLUME knob/ DO NOT fall for the marketing bs... If the amp is good, it's good for bedroom as well (unless you want the best tube driven tone/record and album or dunno).
    I have also heard that prs mt15 has a really bad volume knob which jumps rapidly in volume making it really sh1te to play at low volumes. Not sure if true with all units, though.
    Do not be afraid of 50, 100 Watts amps even in apartments... go for it... test it... send it back if needed but try it for yourself... I am so glad that I have tested Bugera 6262 with 2x12 and now with 4x12 because I know that a bedroom amp = nothing but a marketing BS.
    Please note, that I would rather take 1x12 and a 50W head for a gig than heave a 4x12 and +-24kg of the 100-Watt head.
    For pure joy, fun, practice I cannot recommend a 4x12 and a 100-Watt head enough... Again... try it for yourself. The only downside you really need to be aware of is size and weight. Especially the second one if you are a smaller person like myself. Still heaved all by myself upstairs ;)
    Want 4x12 Mesa in future which is 10kg more and that I am afraid... I will need some help with.

      If I ever come out of my small room it would be with a small head (probably 50W) and a 1x12. 2x12 might be lighter (+- 24kg with v30s) but it is super akwaryd and even more dangerous when putting down/lifting up as you have to get super low. 2x12 vertical might be a consideration but still...

The 2nd channel is a pure high gain monster, couple it with a tube screamer in front and a 10 bands EQ in the loop and you will end with one of the best distortion I ever heard!!
    Obviously with those 2X5881 tubes it can drive my 4X12" like a 100W amp and I can gig or rehearse with it😯 Headroom, sag, natural harmonic distortion, all that goodness in a lunchbox, just AWESOME!! PRS hit hard with that one❤
