    Nice video. I love those engines and come down to see them when I'm in San Francisco. I believe the name of the company is now San Francisco Bay Railroad, and the engines have not been repainted.

    • @Alwaystrains
      @Alwaystrains 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yes, you are correct. The name is SF Bay RR, and #23 has actually been repainted. Hasn't changed schemes, just an updated coat of the current paint.

    Oh dont mind me , just a train driving through a parking lot

    • @Alwaystrains
      @Alwaystrains 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Joseph Foster lol It's actually not a parking lot, it's a legit road. Those cars all belong to the people that work in the buildings on that particular street. All too often they have to ask people to move their vehicles though. Thanks for viewing!

    That first curve looks like something Lionel built, with that tight curve. It doesn't look like the pair of Geeps are going to make it around.
    I like your videography (I've watched a few of your videos.) You've got good timing - its not always the whole train, but it's not two minutes of empty track and horns in the distance either.
    For Niles, the steam leads one way, and just goes along for the ride the other way?

    • @Alwaystrains
      @Alwaystrains 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Stmtrolleyguy Thank you for the compliments! Glad to know my style works well. When I edit videos, I try to do so based on what I as a viewer would want to see. If an engine has a rare or really nice sounding horn, I'll keep more audio clips of it in the final video. Same goes for the duration of the train. If it's something like a unit train, long and monotonous, I'll cut more of it out. However if it has interesting loads or is just plain short, then I don't bother. I also like to keep material where cars are rolling over joints.
      As for Niles, yes you are correct. The Niles Canyon Railway only has a wye at one end of the line, and it's not yet ready for big power like steam engines yet. On a normal day, a single diesel will pull the trains, and do run-arounds at each end of the line. But due to train length, and the overall inefficiency of running a massive engine like that in reverse, a diesel pulls the train the other way.

    When is 2472 going to steam again I know it's not going to be at Niles Canyon but where is she going next?

    • @Alwaystrains
      @Alwaystrains 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The GGRM (the organization that owns 2472) will be relocating to Schellville, the home of the modern day NWP. No set timeline is currently in place for the relocation.
