  • en.romereports.com Millions of pilgrims took part in the world's largest flash mob, by performing a simple dance for the Pope. In fact, the title of the song they danced to is called 'Francis.' Before celebrating Sunday's closing Mass in Rio's Copacabana beach, millions of youths took a few minutes to carry out the performance. .

    We only have a problem seeing the good in others and celebrating them if we are proud and cannot see good in ourselves.. We have all fallen short of His glory but He(Jesus) will reach out to us as we reach out to Him..

    Look, my english is not perfect (I'm brazilian). The lyrics say:
    Welcome among us;
    What a good thing is to hear your voice;
    It's a joy to meet you;
    I speak for myself and for our brothers;
    I speak from my heart;
    Yours smile is "tudo de bom" (it's a brazilian expression, means something very good);
    Come, open your arms like the Redeemer;
    Your bless, Francis, bring us
    Another ray of light, of hope, of love and peace.

    There is a time to for everything... a time to give, a time devoted to silence in prayer, and there is time to share joy with people you love... It is easy to comment without knowing the big picture...My advice is: Ask your self, what have you done with your life, before you start to criticize other...

    Regardless of the day one keeps as the "sabbath" may we unite believing every day is a perfect day to rejoice in the love of Christ Jesus, for He is the Lord of many Christian traditions the world over. Oh how I wish our collective witness was not fractured, our example to the world more unified such as we saw in Rio: People, Young and Old, from every continent, praising God in song and dance with a Love so evident here. May we be ever joyful & loving because Christ first loved us. Alleluia!

    A wonderful expression of Youth lifestyle embedded in our liturgy. Those who judge clearly have this hatred in their hearts over a beautiful talent God has given which is to sing and dance. God is interested in what is liturgically correct or incorrect. God is interested if your heart is correct or incorrect. Think before you judge! This was a beautiful expression of true Catholicism!

    We, Catholics, do not worship the Pope, the Saints and even Mama Mary. We respect n honor them bec they help us to get to know Christ more and be closer to Him.
    Look, Mary is Christ's mother and He loves her so much. Isn't it normal to love the people your love loves? Also, if there is someone who knows Christ, it is her. The Rosary? It is the story of Christ's life. Pray it and you'll see. The Saints? They give us inspiration and example of how life shld be lived.

    this was before mass, so how can you say that?

  • @lisaderuyter8173
    @lisaderuyter8173 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Pope if you noticed NEVER was present at the flash mob, which was before Mass, and yet it was planned to be after Mass and they wanted the Pope's blessing on it. Truly, the Pope probably saw the practice dance the night before and refused to have it done for him. He said once before not to call out his name, but "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus"...The Pope's actions of NOT being there are louder than words. This should have been on the talent night, not before Mass or after Mass (Liturgical abuse).

    Well, considering WYD doesn't happen every year, I do think it's pertinent to consider the poor at that time. The pope regularly offers mass in public. Couldn't you dance at those time?
    Further:
    1. How do you know that I haven't asked myself what I have done with my life?
    2. Other than an emotional high, what affect has WYD had on Brazil?
    Don't you find it ironic to criticize the criticizer...?

    instead of people dancing around why didnt they spend that time helping the poor? wouldnt francis want the money spent on this flash dance to be spent helping the poor? honest question: did they raise money at WYD to help the poor, or have activities helping the poor? what affect did WYD have in brazil, e.g. lower the crime rate, more young people going to church, etc.?

  • @romangod6

    I'm not sure we are talking about the same religion. I have seen Pope John Paul 2 in person twice and of all the thousands of people there I never seen ANYONE who thought to worship a pope. All popes speak of only what is in the gospels and EVERY Catholic I know worships God and ONLY God.

  • @yeyefab
    @yeyefab 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Pope? Christ left His Church to St. Peter, the 1st Pope. You see, it is only the Catholic Church who can trace its roots as founded by Christ.

  • @garymfallon
    @garymfallon 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Matthew 16:18 - "And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Francis is the successor of Peter and leads the church founded by Jesus. So, it's not Jesus or Francis... it's Jesus with Francis heading up Jesus' church on earth!
