I was in high school back then and I used to rush home from school to watch LMAD because it was on at 2:00 p.m. for a half an hour. I just got to see the big deal. Love the episodes from the 1960s and 1970s. And I think it was because the prizes were a lot nicer.

I was in 8th grade during 1975, and watched this game new, during the summers as I had no school then. This game was on daytimes, M-F. It was so funny that the audience had to dress in costume, and was so fun to find out which door they'd choose and what the prize was.

Me too! It was so much fun ! I love how we all used to use "Accent" seasoning, not knowing that it's monosodium glutamate and can give you a wicked bellyache !! 🤢I loved seeing the yellow appliances too in door #3. So many memories !! ☺

I don’t know how Jay Stewart carried those tables down the stairs all those years and not get back trouble.

    • @psalm37v4
      @psalm37v4 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

He actually DID have back trouble. Per wikipedia:
he had also suffered from chronic, intractable back pain for years, reportedly due to frequent heavy lifting during his work on Let's Make a Deal (Stewart had to carry prize display tables to and from the audience area whenever a game on Let's Make a Deal called for them; he would bring out the prizes, announce them, then take them back offstage when done)

Psalm 37v4 I’m not surprised, that looked painful because with what he was carrying and going downstairs, he couldn’t lift with his knees instead of his back

@@jondstewart I don't understand why they couldn't have had someone else at least take the tables back offstage.

9:36 That Zonk was on Wayne Brady's version of Let's Make a Deal but shown in a deal for their anniversary they didn't win that they avoided it just like the contestants on this show.
Also Zonko was back there in the anniversary special

If it was a daytime ep, the odds are pretty low you'll find it. It might exist, but they haven't been re-aired. GSN and Buzzr only showed the nignttime/syndie eps.

Aired between March 7-November 18, 1994 on Family Channel as they were running Boggle the Interactive Game during that time frame(commercial break showing Boggle playbreak winners via Boggle The Interactive Game is seen). The pricing deal editing was done by Family Channel, as they edited out parts of deals on LMAD reruns at the time to get the playbreaks in during commercial breaks.

In this ep, the edit is during the 2nd deal (Casey & Nancy Jones). :(
I remember seeing these on Family Channel - I always hated the edits. I just wish Buzzr, GSN, or someone would re-air the 70s version again.

Family CHannel used to butcher parts of their game show reruns in 1993-94 due to get the interactive game playbreaks with Wink in the half hour broadcast. Deal saw parts of some of the deals cut into, and other shows saw the fee plugs coming out of commercial breaks edited out, and Name that Tune 1984 saw the 90 second plug for the $100K prize package edited out of every show save for tourney final episodes.

@@zachhoran I remember that all too well. I did record them when Fam had them on. When GSN aired the eps I tried to record as many as I could, altho I missed some due to power outages etc. ...I was able to replace some of them.

Steven Dorfman is one of the playbreak winners mentioned on screen of Family Channel interactive games, wonder if its the Steven Dorfman who was a writer on Jeopardy! from 1984 until his death in 2004.

This is so unfair. The couple that gave up $88.00 to go for the big deal. What about another contestant who would have correctly been chosen as the 2nd one to go for the big deal? Got me?

@patrickreed8043. No, it wasn't unfair. The whole idea of the show is to take a chance if you want to to try to get a better prize. No one forced those contestants to gamble and try to get a better prize.
