Hia buddy, I wouldn't run the s9 from the extension cable as it will most likely get very warm over time. If it was me, I would plug it in the direct to the wall socket to prevent a fire happening. Yeah, those cables on the hash boards are common to brown like that could either be a bad connection or the cables overheating and melting. Could also be cheap cables, not the right gauge (chineese) 😂 cable used. I would get yourself a spare power supply spare fans control board and spare cables to allow you more uptime not having to wait for parts when needed. Happy Hashing Stacking Those STATS 👍
@@mentalmininguk it's an extension plugged in to a 32a commando socket so not as bad as from regular plug mains. The total power that pdu has drawn for days on end is more than it's currently using now so should be fine. But I do want to get in on a separate commando connection which I'm waiting for delivery on the next pdu. Basically buy a second ASIC to part out! It's a good idea but I think I've spent enough on it for now and will pray it keeps going until it doesnt
below 3p per kWh is great and for 4.5 hrs mining, why not. Have you done a video on your energy provider Octopus and your Tariff? Do you think it's more beneficial/better in the long run to be on a variable rate? How often do you get 'plunge periods' and are they any good/worthwhile. P.s loving the sound of S9J 😅
@@weepz I've got many videos talking about my electricity costs. "Pay Less Mining Crypto in the UK" which is one of my earlier videos will show my setup and rates. Got a few talking about rates and options though! Would say you get more in the non summer months, but last winter I was getting plunge periods every few days, it's one of those things where you can't guarantee they'll happen but the variable rate is definitely consistently cheaper for my usage
So I left it off and disconnected for 24 hours, did a full reset and it came back to life. Does turn off once in a while randomly and only starts working if I turn off and back on again.
@@geraldringe4439 got 4 hours of sub 9p so still a bit of room for ASIC mining and charging the battery! Just relying on bad weather to keep electricity costs down now summer is officially over
Hmm this is not an option I would take even at 3p it's not profitable your never gonna get that 131 quid back specially if it's only run for a few hours here and there. Better off putting that 131 towards something else IMHO
3p is the max price before I stop mining with it. It will mostly be used for days where I get paid to use electricity. Now we're coming out of winter this should be more common. But yes, it's not very efficient!
Make sure you switch j4 jumper on the control board to the up position when you use the SD card
@@jasonkidwell1767 this is the kinda stuff that if somebody didn't tell me I'd spend 4 hours trying to work out. Thanks 👍🏻

Are you mining pure btc or are you mining in a multi coin and transferring to btc, multicoin sometimes works out alittle better
@@nu77byte49 just mining BTC at the mo. Definitely need to look into that and see if that's a better option!
