I’ve had similar experiences with housekeeping at the all stars and pop century. At 8am everyday i get a knock on door, “what time are you leaving?” I feel like I’m being rushed. Check out is at 11am not 8, not 9, not 9:30am

We stayed in the renovated rooms in January- 90s buildings and were blown away!!
If you have mobility issue's do not do a FL Special room for the newer rooms. If you have a hard time getting into taller beds. I have cerebral Palsy and am pretty mobile I just need bars in the shower. But the bed was so high I could only get into the Murphy bed. I had to sit on the Murphy put my feet on the other bed and scoot myself onto the bed. So just know your mobility level before booking one of these room
Me and my Twin Sister stayed at Pop on our first solo holiday without our parents and it was a really great experience! We stayed in September 2017 and stayed in one the newly refurbished rooms in the 80's section and it was absolutely incredible, the beds were super comfy and the great storage in the bathroom worked great for all of our clothing and accessories for our daily Disneybounds. Having seen from the vlog how the Pop rooms looks previously, I'm so glad I got to stay in one with the new decor as although we only originally planned on the room been a place to sleep, we ended up stuck in room for two days when Irma hit. Been restricted to the room wasn't that bad, and I feel that was largely due to the large tv, aesthetic decor and overall nice vibes. Every Cast Member experience was super positive and generally really helpful especially at giving advice and comfort to two stressed out teenage Brits who had no concept of how to deal with a Hurricane. Check-in took a while, and the front desk always tended to be busy however we put that down to the masses of people checking out early due to the weather. While the food was simple and basic, to our experience it wasn't bad. We really loved the chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, and bacon and chicken caesar flatbread for dinner. Great experience overall and would certainly return!

The dining area could be enlarged, like Ryno said it is crazy especially in the morning. Although one thing to considered is that the All Stars are all 3 stories and Pop Century is 4 stories, which means more people at one time...meaning breakfast.

Had an #amazingexperience at Pop with a manager. We were in for a runDisney event. Our check in manager asked which races we would be racing. We chatted for a while about our runDisney experiences. She told us to be on the look out for her at a water station outside of Hollywood Studios... So right, there are only 20K plus people running this event. 4 days later, 3 races later on about mile 11, I can hear a lady yelling to us "there are my guest from Louisiana!"... sure enough, she's holding out 2 cups of water, we get to her smelly and tired and what does she do... embraces us and tells us to go find her later to see our medals. So thoughtful and unexpected. I hope to see her in 3 weeks for Dark Side Weekend.

Dark Side Weekend is a RunDisney Weekend themed around Star Wars... 5k, 10K, and half marathon (also kids races are held). Takes place in April every year.

I completely agree with Ryno when we stayed there the last time the bed was awful. However the new rooms do look nice.
Stayed there in October 2017 and had no trouble. Room was clean no smell or anything. Our check in lady gave us our happly ever after pins. Didn't take that long either. There was a little bit of line but there was a cast member directing people. We stayed in the 70s right by stairs very close to the lobby/food court.
I will also say we stayed at Pop Century knowing that we would be spending all day in the parks and really was just at the resort while sleeping.
Ive has Mousekeeping pounding on my door between 8-830 every check out day for years.
We’ve only had that happen one time. Some friends of ours who are DVC members gifted us a 4 nights at Saratoga Springs & at 8am on our check out day, Mousekeeping was banging loudly on our door waking our whole family! I told her we would be out by checkout at 11 am, but she still came back several times to bang on the door. 😡 Needless to saying we were standing at the front desk at 11 am filing a complaint with the resort manager. There is no reason for guest to be treated that way.

I’ve stayed at Pop several times and I really love it. It’s my solo stay hotel. However, I did stay in February for just one night and had a similar experience. I was over in the 50s non renovated rooms with the gondola construction going on right outside my door. My room smelled heavily of cleaning products and the noise was insane! If I’d been staying longer I would have asked for a room move in to the 90s. They were working really hard and really fast though, so I’m thinking next time I go it will be great again!
In addition I had a weird interaction with a large group of cast members who seemed to be heading to clock in. They were complaining amongst themselves and not acting at all like they were on stage. I greeted them but they totally ignored me. I’ve never seen that before.

The renovations look amazing. I've really enjoyed this series. Good to see Craig and Ryan again, too.
It was my understanding that the 2nd phase of Pop was scrapped after the buildings under construction had storm damage and had to be completely razed.
“What are they trying to kill when they use that much bleach?” That is a frightening concept for me because I am allergic/sensitive to bleach. I always let staff know to not use it and sometimes bring my own blanket to use as a barrier between the linens and myself. I break out in a rash if I’m exposed to bleach.
I had the EXACT same experience with the housekeepers rushing us out of our room and barging in while we were napping despite the do not disturb sign.
Pop is usally our go-to resort. We have stayed there many times. I will say, our last visit there in 2016, the cleaning staff was subpar. I was very disappointed. We did not experience the 'bleach' smell. At least then I would've felt like something was being cleaned. That being said, we do enjoy the pool and we are VERY excited about the new room renovations. Not gonna miss that carpet at all!
My favorite resort :D so much nostalgia for me
We stayed at Pop in an old room this past September and had almost the exact same experience Ryno did (smell; we were also dissatisfied with the level of cleanliness, etc). We received the same sort of lukewarm response to our concerns when we talked to the front desk. We were informed they were full and we could not be moved. I didn't feel like fighting it after a long day of dealing with little ones on an airplane, but it was very disappointing.

Can't wait for the new rooms here, the design is so much better! You could not easily push a stroller into the old rooms because of the limited space between the door and bed. Haven't been to PC since 2016 so I am looking forward to our nights there in September
The new soap dispensers they were talking about...that's the first time I've seen someone actually show a picture of those...interesting room....

We were there this past March 28-30 for a quick visit. Was looking out for you guys in the parks, but no luck. Thanks for the reviews of the resorts. I would consider staying at Pop. It looks like it will be great once all the rooms are done. We've always stayed at Coronado, last year we stayed at Caribbean.

I loved Pop except for the twin beds, it's so awesome to hear that they are upgrading to queens. My wife and I stayed there last time we went to DW and the Twin beds just didn't cut it. We aren't large people but we are "sleep sprawlers", so we each took a twin bed that week. I couldn't imagine us doing the twin bed thing once we had kids.
Twins are smaller than the full beds at Pop!
Pete, I had the exact same experience during my November 2017 visit! We have stayed at Pop so many times and never experienced this smell. The front desk lady, when asked for another room, said that they NEVER use straight bleach and only have products that contain a little bit of bleach. I could tell she did not believe me. The second room, we found out only after a 10 hour day at the magic kingdom, had a broken bed. Needless to say our night was comped for the first night.

I find it interesting that all star movies, for all the common complaints, did better than pop century. I honestly prefer the all stars and did not understand all of the complaints about them.
We stayed at Pop last April, and we obviously had an old room. It wasn't bad. I didn't have high expectations, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Overall a pleasant experience for the week. It was busy, and loud, but I expected that. The food wasn't the worst I have had, but we didn't eat there for every meal. The tie dyed cheesecake is a favorite of this resort. Going to and from the parks is the worst aspect of this resort for me, every place this bus stop is the farthest away. It was really a bummer.

I enjoyed your conversation in this about the cast members! I just started working part time on Main Street in MK and I’m working really hard to give excellent service. I’ve heard your comments before in previous videos and it’s so disappointing to meet unfriendly cast members at WDW. Hopefully that can change.
Also those new rooms at this resort look awesome. Looking forward to staying there soon because of the renovations.
Art of animation's Little Mermaid rooms are around 190 a night, around 60ish more than the other values, but the resort is sooooo beautiful that i think it is worth it
I totally get the flooring thing. We recently stayed at AOA in Cars and the carpeting was in bad shape. It just looked dirty and worn.
We stayed the end of January till the start of February and truly it wasn’t as great as it was all the other times we have been. I love the new room but check in was Horrible! It took an hour to check in and with a 6 month old that was way long. Our rooms weren’t ready till 3pm (I’ve never had an issue checking in early before since we are coming from Canada). Our second room wasn’t ready till 5pm! We had to fight with the front desk about the fact that we still had to wait. We ordered a crib for the room before we came and reminded them at check in and still had to call when we got to our room since they didn’t bring it. Our phone in the room was also broken so we had to use another rooms phone to even call. They obviously host a lot of big events and I found these groups took over the whole food court and destroyed the place. It was sad to see that these teams had no respect for the mess. They also took up 98% of the seating inside so that made it hard also.
reailia you can do online check in and they will text you with your room number when it is ready. Last time we visited we never had to go to the front desk...just right to our room. However, if you arrive at the resort before stated check-in time (usually 3:00pm) you may have to wait. From what I've heard, though, and from our experience the room is usually ready well before 3:00pm, someone's as early as 11:00am.
I thought the value arcades werelarger because the resorts were larger. Is that wrong? Are the moderate arcades very small?

I am still not sold on the new room design, as I generally travel with friends and we don't like to share a bed, so one of us is ending up on that Murphy bed. Has anyone slept on one yet, how comfortable are they? Also has any tested the under the bed suitcase storage? I have a large suitcase and I have my doubts it would fit under that bed. This has been my go to Value resort to date, but I am afraid I may have to change and go back to All Star music or movie.
My son just loves Mr. and Mrs. Potato head. We had to say high to them every time we entered and left the resort.
It's actually cheaper for my family of 5 to stay at Port Orleans Riverside than any of the "value" resorts.
I stay at POP year after year..... Have never experienced the issues you did. My rooms have always been clean in a top notch fashion. No odors of any kind. The food court is not perfect but it is a value resort..
Disney Connie I totally agree with you. I was just there. With the food. I did have one bad meal this recent time but it was also like 3-4 so I feel like it was the turn over time from lunch to dinner. Other then that I have never had any issues.
We loved our stay at Pop. The put FIVE of us in ONE room so that made for interesting sleeping arrangements. We ordered a roll away bed and two of us had to take turns with the rollaway and the floor. Those regular beds are just not big enough for two adults (unless very personally close to each other)
All that being said the room was clean and served its purpose. The food was fine and we really had no complaints.
Are staying there as a single? I’m looking for someplace that will work for me and my two teens. We usually stay at Riverside for the bigger beds and the extra Murphy bed for my daughter. It looks like she and I would share a bed at Pop, but if they are now queen sized, it would be tolerable. Room size though, how is that? Thank you!
My last stay at pop was for the princess half last month and I had a great cast member interaction. I was in the food court during the breakfast rush and I saw the dining plan manager (not sure of the actual job title) in the middle of the food court and let her know I loved her tangled pin. I said I wish I had a pin on me to trade and she gave me the pin and said Disney Magic :-) it really made my day :-)
The doors on my shower would not stay closed. It was weird.
Is Disney losing their heavy theming for their rooms? That’s one thing I really love about Disney is their specific themes in the rooms (northwest lodge at wilderness, African at animal kingdom, Mexican/southwest at Coronado, etc.).

I am really surprised at the difference between their experience at Pop Century and their experience at All Star Movies. Pop Century was our resort of choice for several years.
We stayed there once many years ago and had a good stay and found the food court adequate. Your visit (based on the Vlog vs. this review per se) was NOT our experience then. And yes, those shadowboxes are super.
Hi love your show ...sorry Pop wasn't as good... I stay there every trip and I had not run into these situation... I'm sensitive to bleach so I understand that....the carpet I never cared for but dealt w it...I will miss the little shampoo bottles w/ the ears but I'll survive since I like H2O products...construction stuff is a tough thing to deal with... the theming is awesome and the gift shop is really good I thought too...food court is ok(nothing was bad) but way too loud in there for me...cast members there for me have always been so helpful....Thanks again...

We stayed in the new rooms in Jan and they were VERY comfy.
The arcades are cheap entertainment, for the most part. That is probably why they are more prominent in the value/moderates. The deluxe resorts have costlier activities for people to spend money on.
I'm sure they think putting the bottles in a dispenser is going to save them money on the toiletries, but it's going to take all of one week before someone empties them into their own containers.
Me and my Family are going down from Dec 25 through January 2. 2018 2019. You think all the rooms will be done by then?
How long is the renovation gonna take to complete?
I would stay at All Star Movies instead of Pop Century.

I had this same issue in February. They put me in an older room in the 50's and it smelled overwhelmingly like bleach which also made me feel sick. The bathroom was very dirty (hair on floor and tub) and stains on both of the bed covers that had been sprayed with some type of solution that was still very wet. I didn't last very long either. I called guest services from the room and they moved me to the 80's section to a renovated room right away. It made my 8 day stay so much better because the first room was just plain gross. I am usually a go with the flow kind of person but I am human too and there was no way I could stay for 8 days in that original room.

Wishes 4ever the 90s 80s and 70s are completely done. 60s is in progress now and the 50s is untouched as of now. That’ll be he last section completed.

I stayed in 80s last week. The room was renovated. The room was nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay. The only thing was that it was a little far to the bus stop. Get a preferred room. The 90s building is closer.

The housekeeping is trying to get you the f*** out of there, even when you’re staying there!!! I had a similar experience when I was staying at Port Orleans for a week in February. The housekeeping kept coming back & it seemed like they were trying to get me out so they could clean, even when I had days left in my stay. They need to take a chill pill when it comes to “MUST. CLEAN. NOW.”!!!!!

Although modern/ minimalism isn't my personal style, I do like the look of the new rooms at Pop, Movies and Coronado. It's a nice break from everything else that is visually stimulating.
I feel like you guys need to define what "Pop Culture" is to explain the resort theme.
Come on Rhino, do not tell me that you didn't enjoy all the construction workers! I know I would!
The older PoP Century rooms are pathetic. I literally feel that since they are remodeling the rooms they gave up on the old rooms. The carpet was filthy. We will NEVER stay there again. The NEW rooms at Pop Century are amazing! Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach are worth the money. We also stayed at Wilderness Lodge and that was old and dirty too even though it was $400.00 a night. The tv was broken, it was dark and depressing.

For real though it IS the mildew. The old rooms prior to refurb had a BUNCH of mildew problems. They're STILL not great.

So funny what you said about the first room. The stench of bleach happened to us too when we stayed at All Stars Sports a few years ago. It was so strong that we had to move! It was making us nauseous. It does make one wonder if they are covering up something bad in the room. I only found that smell at Sports, not that I have anything against value resorts, just saying I didn't find that smell in the moderates or deluxes that I've stayed at.
Just watched the whole video. That sucks to be almost walked in on and harassed about what time you're leaving your room so they can clean it. There's been lots of discussion about other people experiencing this on the Dis Unplugged Facebook site. This is not okay.
Young kids = urine
Marsha Koller There's not only young kids at the value hotels though. If it was a urine problem because of young kids, the bleach smell would be at all the hotels.
I was there and it was very nice. Refurbished rooms very nice.
