So true! this was before I was vegan and I was vegetarian at the time, so it made it really difficult to pull this fest off! But that said I was formerly a huge meat eater, and the fest had such a rich cultural element to it, not to mention the only casked madeiran wine outside of Madeira so I made do! The people were great!
