Perhaps the most genuine musician I've ever seen. The concert I saw, he pretty much lost his voice halfway through the show, but he kept pushing and pushing ... he just gave his everything on stage. I admire him so much for being so honest and vulnerable and generous, and for loving music as much as he did. He was one of a kind.

I saw Rory in Liverpool,UK in the 70's,and as you mentioned, there was no messing about with him,he walked on stage, waved to the crowd, plugged in and let rip ! He was the most humble and self effacing rock star I've ever seen. He was a blues man to his core. He wasn't after fame or money,he just wanted to play the blues in the most stripped down way possible, and for that I'll be forever grateful to him. Legend is a much over-used epiphet in the music business, but he was the real deal. R.I.P. Rory.

He was playing in front of a bunch of his Northern Ireland young people. They adored him and got to see their countryman hero, their very own guitar God playing just for them. I have this video at home and have watched it for years, love the young Irish fans worship of one of their very own.

This was part of The Irish Tour. During the 70's "The Troubles" was going down so no bands would play Belfast. Rory love the city ands it's people so unlike others he didn't cancel the show(s). 3 car bombs went off the day of this show, but Rory still went on stage. There's a rumor going round that a agreement was made that his performances where considered neutral territory.

So happy to see another Rory reaction! He has such a diverse catalog of music. For something different I suggest checking out Jack-Knife Beat - while I haven't found live video of him performing this song, there is a live audio from his BBC sessions or live at the Hammersmith Odeon which are sublime. Also, Just The Smile from Rory's Beat Club sessions is some of the sweetest acoustic you'll see/hear. Someone else in the comments suggested reacting to Taste, Rory's band before going solo - Born on the Wrong Side of Time is a gem. Anyway, thanks for a great reaction and keep on...

The artist I saw most in the 70s, or ever. Rory played rhythm with his volume wide open for full crunch, then backed off slightly for added clarity and bite in those stinging lines. Counter-intuitive bit of technique maybe, but it worked for him. Btw, 'Bullfrog Blues'!!! ✌😘🎶🎤🎸🔥💖
Probably mentioned previously I bought a 100-watt Hiwatt head from guitarist/producer David Bennett in 1976 gifted to him by Rory when he'd lived with Lou Martin, Rory's keyboardist. Ended up a twisted hunk of metal after a fire the same year .

Rory never came to America because he was afraid of flying. I think he was from Cork, Ireland. He died in his early 50's if I remember right. See if you can get his very first album with his first band called Taste. I think he only made one with his band back then. After that, he just toured as an Irish blues musician like Gary Moore after him.

I bet you anything if Rory met you graffiti and hung around with you a little bit he would rather really awesome song about you because nobody has A Smile Like Yours and I've seen a thousand million faces I had a dream last night that I was hanging with Rory but the only part I remember is it was really cool you know how dreams go but it was like I knew him and we knew each other I also play guitar till this very moment and back when I first heard him when he first came out anyway in the dream what I remember the most is hanging with him and then he had this really cool guitar it's like a cross between a Telecaster and a Stratocaster like a jaguar or a old Duo Sonic or a Mustang but it had this really cool sound to it and I said wow can I use that guitar I'd like to play it and he goes yeah sure take it and use it and then I played a few breaths and I got oh thanks man awesome and it seemed like the dream was really a lot longer but that's the only part I can remember vividly and I played a few chords and notes it's kind of ironic or iconic but I can play like Rory because that's the kind of style I was playing way back when he came out and just before Eddie Van Halen and those cats and of course Jimi Hendrix Johnny Winter and all those dudes but then I played a little bit on the guitar just digging it and woke up of course and wow that was cool but in the dream it was so real just so real anyway dig you guys and the way you present your videos here and like I said your cameras are your microphones really come in really good when it's coming through even my iPhone cell phone sounds great just wanted to let you know how you're sounding Out Here take care
