      As a woman in her 30’s….I feel the same way about men around my age. Still single, still love Jesus more than anything. My only advice is to keep seeking Him first and don’t settle….even if it means your single for a long time. People who settle are so miserable. Jesus is my husband first, and if he blesses me with a Godly husband on Earth, great! But if not…I’m still His and I will continue to live for him.

      For Christian men is easier to find a Godly women. I know many single good ladies from church. But the men🙄. When I tell them I want sec after marriage as this is how should be,thats it. This is the end of the conversation. I am not disappointed anymore as I know these are the lasts days before Christ. I have been in the world and I know how the sexual sins are. Rather than being with someone for their selfish flesh desires, better single and happy with Christ. I am glad I am forgiven.

    I think once you're in a committed relationship (especially marriage) your contact with the opposit sex needs to be intentionally different and it needs to be a conversation between you and your significant other (spouse) the boundaries that you want to put into place. For instance, my husband's best friend from high school is a female and I don't have a problem with him having female friends, the issue that I had after we got married was how much she relied on him for emotional support. I had to have a conversation with him where I explained what made me uncomfortable and why it made me uncomfortable. In my mind, anytime a woman relies on a man for emotional support there's a possibility for things to progress to more than just platonic friendship and that made me uncomfortable. Once I told him he put the boundary in place with her and they're still friends, it's just a different kind of friendship and I've made an effort to do the same with my male friends. We also don't spend time alone with the opposit sex if it's not each other or a family member.

      Friends confide in each other and share deep meaningful conversations. It’s not wise to have friends of the opposite sex after marriage. Most affairs happen among friends. We didn’t mean for it to happen, they say. You did nothing to prevent it. Build a hedge around your marriage. Understand your human flesh ❤️

Last night I read Luke 6:45 for the first time which says "A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. I love how you clarified the word “toxic” because it is a strong word. Some arguments in relationships are just hard (not always). I had a hard time determining whether I was in a toxic relationship or not (bc someone said it was) and I knew it was not because the person made me a better person in Christ. What made it hard was the purging of bad habits in me. Like being in a relationship leading to marriage or being married makes you more Christ like. They help you get closer to God and sometimes that means you need to let go of pride, selfishness etc. It’s hard coming from the person close to you but it is for your own good. And even letting go of the bad habits, it’s hard but it’s worth it in the end. Thank you Sadie and Christian.

    You two are truly made for one another! When you have children, they will be beautiful inside and out! I have to comment on a couple of things: A friend of mine, a woman and I were really best friends and fell away for a long time. We use to go out and do all kinds of sinful and wrong things. I came back to Jesus after a battle with a drug that was given to me in the hospital, it made me hear things. One night when I was all alone, I heard someone whisper my name in my ear, then all the noises in my head stopped! Then I knew I had been redeemed! So, I stopped hanging around with her. My marriage has improved, and I told my husband about the wrongs that I had done wrong, and he forgave me. I was looking online one day and I came upon her husbands obituary! She is much younger than me. So I immediately jumped in my car and kept her on the phone on the way to her place. Long story short, She no longer considers herself a woman, she wants to be a man! So now I am struggling to even talking to her. She believes that The Bible is only a book that people got together and wrote. She says that there is a higher, for her it is in nature. Everytime I talk to her , I cannot get a word about The Lord. She is going through a really rough time, and I just can't get myself to pick up the phone and call her again. I pray for her every night. So remember there are thieves and liars everywhere you go. God bless you both!

I’ve struggled finding a partner in this generation that is willing to give pornography up… even someone who’s dad was a preacher🤯 Throughout those toxic relationships I thought I was wrong about pornography and women were just supposed to accept that their significant other was receiving pleasure either emotionally, physically, or both from porn sites or actual women. Love love the topic of women in the bible & women speaking or preaching. I want to read and listen to strong godly women, but i always hear from others that it is not ok for women to be speaking about the bible and that is solely a man's job. I've also heard people using the verse sadie referenced about women being quiet and using that as the sole reason for why women shouldn't speak so it is nice to hear that there are other verses & stories to back up women in the church

    Sadie, I really enjoyed hearing you share multiple things on your heart and display the wisdom that God has clearly given you. That being said, I have to disagree with your interpretation of the passage in 1 Timothy 2, when Paul describes the role of women in the church. I grew up going to church with a lead male pastor and also a lead female pastor. I believed women could be pastors in the church, that is, until I started reading through the Bible for the first time, and the Holy Spirit convicted me as I read 1 Timothy 2:12. I used to understand the passage just like you are describing how you understand it today. What changed for me is the understanding that I can still share the Gospel with others without having to get behind the pulpit and hold authority over men in the church. You are equating a woman's ability to share the gospel with her ability to stand and teach through scripture in church and therefore, hold authority over men.
    A woman having different roles in the church from a man does not negate the Gospel, and it does not mean that God does not equally love and value both men and women. Just like in marriage, the husband and wife have different roles. The wife is called to submit to her husband, and the husband is called to die to himself daily and serve his wife. These different roles is why Paul directly correaltes the covenant of marriage to the relationship between Christ and the church (Ephesians 5). Since you think women and men can both be lead pastors in the church, do you also think that a wife can be the spiritual leader and head over her family? Do you think it is also her first role to disciple children and lead the family as a whole to Christ? Does the wife spiritually lead the husband and explain Scripture to him? Or is this not the role of the husband in the marriage and family?
    I also agree with you in your emphasis of Jesus' radical inclusion of women during His ministry. It is true that Christ's fellowship and inclusion of women, even prostitutes and adulterous women, was shocking to all those around Him. It is because in Christ, there is neither "Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). This verse does not mean that our nationality or gender is useless to Christ. This verse also is not a support for women pastors. In its proper context, this verse describes that the gospel is made available to all-whether you are male or female, ensalved or free, or Jew or Greek- because the Gospel has finally been made availble to all.
    Sadie, I am also familiar with the popular refutation of 1 Timothy 2 you gave. The theory you explained about women and men sitting across aisles in the church and the women yelling out, distracting the body completely ignores the context of the passage. In 1 Timothy 2, Paul does not simply say that women are not to yell out and distract the service. Actually, Paul makes no mention of even such a situation as that. He does not even allude to women yelling and distracting or disrupting service. What does he say? He instructs women to learn in "quietness and submissiveness." He also blatantly and clearly states that a woman is not to teach but to remain quiet. What is his reasoning for this? He says a woman is not to "exercise authority over a man." Sadie, we must consider the reasoning behind this. If Paul was writing this to specifically describe a situation where women were yelling in the church, wouldn't he state something to allude to that in this passage? Would he not after giving such an emphatic statement, say, "for the women are disrupting the time of worship"? Instead, where does he hang his reasoning for his prohibition of women preachers? He hangs it on the very nature of how God created the universe and the consequences of the fall. He says, "for Adam was formed first, and then Eve. And it was not Adam who was decieved, but the woman who was deceived and fell into trasngression."
    We cannot wrestle with such a clear passage as this and try to seek other interpretations based on culture to undermine the point Paul is making here. That is the same as those in the church today that try to read a favorable stance on homosexuality into the Bible. They will say that the passages Paul condemns homosexuality are actually passages where he only condemns homosexual sex that isn't consensual. IS that true? No, it is not. But we as humans who desire to continue in sin will desperately try to find some kind of explanation outside of Scripture to ease our conviction and decieve us to think we are actually following what Scripture teaches. Sadie, I know your heart is so to follow the Lord and live totally and completely according to His will. According to His Word, women pastors and women preaching inside the church hold authority over men and therefore should not be preaching. This does not mean that women have no role in ministry. This does not mean that men and woman are not equals in the sight of God. This does not mean that men and women are unequally loved by God. And this does not mean that women cannot share the Gospel. When we share the gospel with a coworker, or a person at the gas station, or someone on social media, it is not the same as standing with authority over a group of men and women and expositing Scripture. Once again, men and women have different roles. This goes all the way back to the very way God created the first male and female, and we must not deceive ourselves by thinking it is limiting or unjust or unfair to live according to the gender He created us in and calls us to live in.
    1 Timothy 2:11-14
    "A woman must learn in quietness and full submissiveness. (12) I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man;c she is to remain quiet. (13) For Adam was formed first, and then Eve. (14) And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman who was deceived and fell into transgression."

    • @loremaster77
      @loremaster77 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      One of the things you have to realize that at that point, you're an adult and can make your own choices. In Scripture, it talks about how you leave your parents to go be with your spouse as one flesh (Ephesians 5:31). The purpose of the parent in your life is to help nourish and educate you as grow up into adulthood. Once you are an adult, you have the freedom to make your own choices and decisions. Your parents, at this stage, can certainly guide you and give you advice, but they cannot decide things for you anymore because again, you're not a child anymore. I would encourage you thought to sit down with your mother and discuss this. Don't be angry or upset at her because she's still your mother regardless and only wants what's best for you. Instead of just bluntly telling her that you're independent of her, maybe tell her ways you intend to honor her and carry on her legacy through your relationship with your spouse. You still value the work that your parents have done in your life but at the same time you acknowledge your adult independence.

    W O A H .
    Thank you for sharing such information with intent to reach those who are looking for questions in their relationship when putting Jesus as the #1. Question for you lady - what did your answer from God sound like when you were seeking clarity if your husband was the one for you? I’m in a relationship where I feel as if he is everything I’ve always prayed for, the way he challenges me in my walk with Jesus, the way he treats his family, his friends and me. He puts Jesus before me and loves me the way I have always imagined of being loved. I’ve spent time asking Jesus if this relationship is one to continue. I got my answer and it was so clear and intentional the way Jesus speaks to me.
    im just curious as to what the Holy Spirit spoke to you in your time of question.
    You two are such great examples & I truly look up to you two. Thank you for always sharing what Jesus has put on your heart for your listeners, thank you for being a disciple and setting that example. 🤎

    Sadie and Christian, thank you for a great podcast.
    I do have a random question for you. One that I have been struggling with for a while now. And I would love to hear what you have to say.
    When I was a baby, I was baptised as a Methodist. Something happened within the church shortly after, and my family left and went to a Presbyterian church. I grew up in the Presbyterian church most of my life, and became a member when I became of age.
    When COVID hit though, my church was shut down for a time. Randomly scrolling TH-cam, I found Elevation worship. And I fell in love with it. So I would tune in every Sunday, basically during the pandemic. Before the mandates lifted, I then found another church on TH-cam, Passion City Church. And I loved listening to Ben Stuart.
    So now, the Presbyterian church is open. And I am still listening to the two church services I found on TH-cam. So I have an option to go back to the physical church, or continue tuning in online to one of the other two churches through TH-cam.
    Long story short, here is my question for you. How do you know what kind of a church you belong to? Or, does it really matter what denomination we follow? At the end of the day, all denominations believe in Jesus Christ, how he died on the cross to save us from our sins, right?
    Thank you so much for your time. Again, great podcast. I love hearing your advice for single Pringles like myself in the love and marriage department.

    I have been struggling a lot with the verses that Paul writes about women being silent in the church 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 “As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says." I understand that the culture was different back then and women were not seen as equals to men. Jesus obviously admired women and did not treat them differently. However, I feel like that verse is not talking about women being loud but clearly refers to the law when telling women what they should be doing in the church.

    • @bellahartman7832
      @bellahartman7832 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would look up the context of that verse. Paul wrote it in a time where women and men sat on opposite sides of the church and bc they were uneducated they didn’t understand what was being preached, so they would yell to their husbands and interrupt the service, so he’s telling them to keep quiet until they’re back home and can ask their husbands in private and submission

    • @ashleychupp1068
      @ashleychupp1068 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bellahartman7832 Yeah I can see how he would be saying that. I just struggle with why he would state “as the law also says” and wonder what law he was referring to.

    Hello! Alyssa here, I am such a huge fan of your podcast and all of the different topics you do but I do would like to share my answer from a biblical standpoint of "Do we go to heaven when we die?" or "Are we immediately with Jesus when we die?" and the answer (found from the bible) is this:
    "But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
    For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words."
    1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18
    There are also more verses that back up this claim but those who die in Christ will be resurrected at the second coming of Jesus Christ to live eternally with Him on the new earth. God bless you all!

    My thoughts on the First Question: What happens when we die?
    1. What forms a living human being: Genesis 2:7 (Dust of the Ground & The Breath of Life)
    2. What happens when we die?: Ecclesiastes 12:7 "The dust will return to the earth as it was and the spirit will return to God who gave it"
    3. Are people conscious in death?: Ecclesiastes 9:5 "The living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing"
    4a. When do the righteous dead go to heaven? 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 "Behold, I tell you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed"
    4b. Thessalonians 4:16-17 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
    We remain asleep until Jesus returns to take us to heaven

    The Apostle Paul stated "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." (2 Cor 5:8). The author of Hebrews also stated "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" (Hebrews 9:27).

    Dear Sadie, I have to disagree with you on women pastors. Paul told Timothy the same thing as the Corinthians and elaborated further "...And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence." I Timothy 2:12 NKJV. Yes, women serve in church and teach each other and children which is mentioned in Titus 2. I love the example you used of the samaritan women but she didn't preached but call everyone to come meet him. See John 4:29. The ladies telling the disciples that Jesus isn't in the tomb isn't teaching either. Those women we're absolutely loved by Jesus and honoured but notice their involvement most of the time was quietly walking alongside and serving the men. Which is beautiful. We do not need to seek their glory, we display God's humility when we surrender authority to a man. Like the church in submission to Christ. Women represent the church and men represents Christ. Which is displayed in marriage. See Ephesians 5:22-33. Friend, we have to be so careful what we teach others. "My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment." James 3:1 NKJV. You mentioned at the beginning that you two are not bible scholars (I can't remember the exact words) but if you are going to be teaching others about the Lord then you (I) need to become more diligent to know the word so you are not misguiding others on passages you (I) speak about, to be sure of the context and not from memory or what you heard another say or teach. But check on even what pastors and leaders are teaching. We are called to test all things so we may become discerning to know when someone is teacher truth or error like the Bereans who searched the scripture to see whether Paul and Silas were preaching the truth in Act 17:11.
    I hope you read my message. It is sent with so much love. I love your sincerity and love for the Lord and your desire to lead others. Please do not ever stop. God has given you this platform and pray that many will grow with you as you grow in him. God bless.
    You should check out a great website / app called GotQuestions.org.

    I met a Mormon guy today and he prayed with me while I looked overwhelmed… then, before I left, we kinda talked then he winked at me at the end lol… I was like “ I’d never be a Mormon.” I was a 7th day Adventist, and I can’t go back to all those strict rules anymore. He gave me a card with a picture of Jesus in the front and a written Bible verse in the back and his phone number. Funny enough, I wrote a thank you message on a piece of paper that was on the computer table with my phone number on the bottom.
    Should I reach out to him? Or just let it go?

    • @Hello-rr1jj
      @Hello-rr1jj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I would say let it go; unequally yoked relationship could bring a lot of trouble at the end no matter how good it might look in the beginning. Better to wait on God and His lead, than to try to make something happen

    • @toniamoronczyk1132
      @toniamoronczyk1132 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say.. it’s best to let it go. It seems like satan might use this to tempt you to go back to that religion. That religion won’t bring you true happiness. Having a relationship with Christ will. Also you want someone who’ll push you closer to the truth. That guy will lead you in the wrong direction because he doesn’t have a relationship with Christ

    • @TheSonshineKids
      @TheSonshineKids 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Girl, I hope you ran the other way he is not leading you to Christ but a stray. Even Satan know how to use scripture to misguide those who are not learned.
