To those wondering why there's no 47: It's because the route the train takes to Cardiff is via the Heart of Wales line, the same route the Push-Pull tour took with the same pair of 37s the other week. Nothing bigger than a 37 can run on that line, so they couldn't bring a 47 with them. So instead they put the Generator Car on the train and 60007 ran to Holyhead and back solo, turning using the triangle at Valley.
A Streak at Crewe shades of late 1940s British Railways locomotive tryouts on other lines. Sir Nigel’s Chimes reminiscent of seeing him on the Elizabethan at Hatfield in the early 1960s
Just as you're going past the depot at0:14, there seems to be a derelict looking 47 lurking behind a building. Does anyone have any idea what that might be?

I’m guessing SNG hasn’t got clearance to run on CWL but they could’ve put a Black 5 on
If they had one, but 45231's been out of traffic for some time now.
@@Matty_1843 ah right ok
Great footage of Sir Nigel Gresley and the 37s 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Saw the Tractors at Central, additionally seeing two 66s railtour to Birmingham and Braunton with a 47! Plenty to see down South yesterday!
Excellent video as always 👍
Brilliant
Thought you might be there today Rob. We skipped it and went to Chester & Nantwich. Surprised to see Gresley reverse into Crewe H.S.
Nice footage 👍
A4 emerges from the Crewe south Forest.. 🙈🌳 Hopefully you both had a good day out 👍
@@trainsplanes yes mate, only out for a while had other commitments. A4 looked very Impressive 👌

Possibly 47816, which is a spares donor for the LSL class 47 fleet
It's becoming a jungle at Crewe! Needs a bit of p/way clearing!!
💯🙏
Top locos the 37s
Absolutely 👍
Fabulous footage. Got to see it coming through Chester and it deposited a small bit of coal as a souvenir. Lovely loco.
Wow amazing video are you coming to the SVR steam gala
Thought you would be there, but I didn't see you. I was on 11 for the arrival, then on the end of pl 7
Hi Phil, hope you’re well. I didn’t see you either - I did try and stay away from the crowds though as it was looking busy in places.
@@trainsplanes yes thanks ,and you too? Don't blame you always avoid platform 12!
9:25 a German loco?
I’m not sure where these were manufactured - Someone will hopefully confirm. 👍
@@trainsplanes The locomotive has Deutsche Bahn logo on its front.
Did both 37’s have a crew or was it one crew for both?
Just the one crew 👍
@@trainsplanes how was 409’s engine reving when the train left the platform
@@Liam199McgrathIt’s being controlled by the lead loco (37521) in multiple. 👍
@@trainsplanes do the class 20’s work in the same way when in multiples as well then
@@Liam199McgrathYep - They’re the same 👍
Im still not convinced on the sound of 409, she doesn't sound happy nor healthy!
It does have a different tone - Not sure why though 🤷♂️
@@trainsplanes Its as if she's running on an uneven ammount of cylinders or even the engine timings out!
Good to see a proper diesel on a railtour! Not a stupid 47/57.
Stupid 47? The backbone of British Rail for 40 years?
@@AndreiTupolev They are stupid, they are seen waaaay too often on charters
@@CDMtransport i agree they are common but it’s not stupid 😢
