Finally a show where the contribution of the local population is moreso scknowledged. It is good to have it presented how the locals are a vital part of research like this.
NAT GEO literally has a episode called “Kangaroo’s….. in Trees??” And it was posted way before this dropped. You just became a nat geo fan way to late, they already had those animals before anyone else
Thank you for being a part of the knowledge & protection of species such as these. I love these tree kangaroo and so very many more animals that we are truly just beginning to discover and learn about. Again, thank you 😊
An excellent film, an impressive, emotional, wonderful world of images that was also conveyed through the screen. Wonderful work, I am proud to have seen this. Best regards!
The Tree Kangaroo is beautiful, and seems to be very sweet tempered. I just hope, they don't become the new thing, and illegally poached by nefarious people who don't care.
I am a bit confused as she said that tree kangaroos are found in Tropical North Queensland as per the Australian Government Dept of Environment. As you drive along roads in the Atherton Tablelands you will see signs warning of tree kangaroos.
Beautiful animal but such a HUGE INTRUSIVE collar. Are you planning to remove them after some time? Can't you find something smaller and less intrusive?
I don't mean to be rude or dismissive, but this seems incredibly invasive? Not to mention how enormous the collar is, that has to be a burden for the animal. How did this get through an ethical commission? I'm all for conservation effort, however there are rules around invasiveness that exist for a reason.
Hi....just an FYI - they are being hunted to extinction and also their habitat has been decimated due to Indonesian Palm Oil coming in and destroying West Papuan rainforest and selling it off without permision from Indigenous land owners -so a tracking collar is the least of the problems of genus Dendrolagus - the tree kangaroo
Exactly what i was thinking. What about if she could no longer get pregnant because the male rejected her, seems that they do not see the big picture, unfortunately.
It's like the cutest animal ever. It's a shame it has to wear that ugly thing on its neck, and it must be scary to get caught in a bag, but then again, they seem very respectful and loving towards the little guy, and they're doing great work.
Other parts of Papua New Guinea especially Sarawagat rangs in Morobe province a habitation to the endangered Matschie tree Kangaroos need to be protected too.
I never new about these but I don’t agree with that collar I can’t finish this video smh I never comment on videos n this is wrong it’s so cute they is the reason why shhh like that is illegal f. research they could’ve just put cameras on the trees
humans cant get captured & put into bags like this because humans are the smartest species on earth. if marsupials dont like it, then they should evolve to become bigger & better.
@SexyFace SF, humans suffer at the hands of tyrants ALL the time. There are people and entities out there that are overwhelmingly stronger than you are (and that doesn't mean they're more evolved...just more tyrannical and clannish). May you never meet such people and live happily in your bubble.
@@tekajikuyalkrul5111 But they are aware beings too with a "right" to be left alone and to follow their own destinies just like humans see themselves to be.
@tekajikuyalkrul5111 Say an uber race of aliens is observing the Earth and decides that humans are about to self-annihilate, which is not such an outlandish proposition. They then come down from space, capture a viable human population (which could be you or a loved one) and remove the humans to a "safe" habitate, which would inevitably be a cage. How would you feel about that? Humans feel like they are capable of making such decisions about other lifeforms. Hubris, I call it. Humans should gain some humility and perspective and stop interfering.
yeah, all this nature research is really having an effect on these people. now they're building skyscraper housing complexes & running digital advertisements on their smartphones. get real

Watching Nat Geo for about 2years frequently, never seen a tree Kangaroo. This channel is the real deal
nvr even knew these creatures exist....awesome channel :O
NAT GEO literally has a episode called “Kangaroo’s….. in Trees??” And it was posted way before this dropped. You just became a nat geo fan way to late, they already had those animals before anyone else
My first glimpse, ever, of a tree kangaroo! Didn't even know they existed. So cute!💖
Neither did I, including living in Australia for over 3 years and never having heard of the Tree Kangaroos living in Far Northern Queensland.
I hope they devise a thinner/smaller, less intrusive tracking device soon. Imagine wearing that thing around your neck 24/7
Thank you for being a part of the knowledge & protection of species such as these. I love these tree kangaroo and so very many more animals that we are truly just beginning to discover and learn about. Again, thank you 😊
What a beautiful place, beautiful animals, beautiful forest and wonderful people caring for it all. Keep "civilization" away.
One of the important key of conservation is cooperative with the local. And she and the rest of team does. Proud of them, good luck
Cloud forest.... The name itself is appealing😍.... Never seen a tree kangaroo before... They are unique indeed...
That damn collar was so big and uncomfortable to them - especially when they are under their chins ffs.......
Literally, humans are born ugliest demons, why can't just let things stay as it is, enjoy the creation without studying them
An excellent film, an impressive, emotional, wonderful world of images that was also conveyed through the screen.
Wonderful work, I am proud to have seen this.
Best regards!
Guys, this lady is devoting her life to researching these beautiful animals. I’m sure the collar isn’t as obnoxious as it looks.
The Tree Kangaroo is beautiful, and seems to be very sweet tempered. I just hope, they don't become the new thing, and illegally poached by nefarious people who don't care.
Oh this is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing
Beautiful tree kangaroo. So lovely and calm
Thank you PBS for producing these amazing contents, bell icon on because you’re worth the notifications spam
The collar looks uncomfortable there has to be another way then drugging them and putting a massive collar on them
Some bitchs cant feel others pain when it comes to their interest
Bruh i thought it said "Naruto on Pbs" 😂
Lmao
*This video is perfectly made.*
Ive just discovered this channel and love it soooo! Love this tree kangaroo! First time to have seen this! Amazing!!!😍😍😍😍
One of the most unique and captivating animals in the world
I feel like I'm choking with that around the neck 🤔😔 poor animals
guess you got pick to be the tester
That collar looks pretty freaking huge and tight
It's mean to do that
I jus hope the collar isn’t a forever thing idk if the tree kangaroo might find it a lil bothersome lol
Wow I have never seen this beautiful animal before
THANK YOU NATURE!!!!!
So cute. But those long antennas....
they are beautiful.
I love this channel it teaches you so much. Ty for doing all of this
4:35 Awwww😍
I wish this was on DVD a Region 1 DVD. I like Tree Kangaroos. Both the Australian species & this fuzzy wuzzy species.
OMG.. that's cutee😍😘🤗
*I sincerely wish I were a tree kangaroo*
That's rather sweet if you to think of. Wish all people were like you.
they look so sentient compared to many other animals
I am a bit confused as she said that tree kangaroos are found in Tropical North Queensland as per the Australian Government Dept of Environment. As you drive along roads in the Atherton Tablelands you will see signs warning of tree kangaroos.
There are a few different species of tree kangaroo, two species reside only in FNQ, the Bennets and the Lumholtz.
there are several species of them. not just two. one of them has completely black fur called tenkiles
Wow...what a fantastic animal...never seen before...yes you have shown interesting fact about the tree kangaroo...thank u very much...
Cute kanguroo. 😍
its disturbing to see the collars on them looks so torturously uncomfortable
What a gorgeous animal
Great work!!
Wow that was beautiful 💕
Beautiful animal but such a HUGE INTRUSIVE collar. Are you planning to remove them after some time? Can't you find something smaller and less intrusive?
omg so cute 😍
Great video. I saw Tree Kangaroos in Papua, but only from a far distance...
Lovely 💕
Watching them drop it into that bag was painful
Papua New Guinea, love from Indonesia💚.
They're so cute!😊
Tree kangaroo are also in northern Australia as well
What's up with that collar? Does it need to be so bulky?
I don't mean to be rude or dismissive, but this seems incredibly invasive? Not to mention how enormous the collar is, that has to be a burden for the animal. How did this get through an ethical commission? I'm all for conservation effort, however there are rules around invasiveness that exist for a reason.
I mean it's not like a tree kangaroo cares about her privacy lol
@@babelKONI its not about the privacy its about the weight and discomfort and the huge thing getting in the way of the animal's natural behaviour
The collars are far lighter than they look…
Exactly what i was thinking.
What about if she could no longer get pregnant because the male rejected her, seems that they do not see the big picture, unfortunately.
I love this it's so cool
Omg this video is soo cute!! 🥰
15 amazing animals
Human interaction is the basic reason of decline of different wild animals species.
9:10 this has to be the most beautiful place to live at
hey. do not put a cam in their neck! poor kangaroo
Hope so
I like tree Kangaroos. Could this short be included as a Bonus or something on a NATURE DVD?
Fantastic pictures and great new information about the stewards of Papua New G.
It's like the cutest animal ever. It's a shame it has to wear that ugly thing on its neck, and it must be scary to get caught in a bag, but then again, they seem very respectful and loving towards the little guy, and they're doing great work.
If i were a tree kangaroo i would never come down! No way!
What the hell is this a new species i have never seen it before!!!
Is this how to throw a mother and her month old baby in a bag?
😭😭
800th like!
Lovely Tree Kangaroos,Beautiful Place and very friendly people!😄😄😄
Bravo :-)))))
Sudamerica
It's my fist time seeing this😍
Sedative when the Joey is on the teet, doesn't seem like a great plan
Inacceptable. Le collier gps est beaucoup trop grand. La vie du kangourou n'est plus la même. Ces comportements sont inacceptables aujourd'hui.
Too much cute
New pet trend If this gets out to the masses
Pretty tame for a wild animal. It lets you capture it and pet it without using those dangerous claws?
The question is will it be there for the next generations to come ?
That collar in the neck is hurting my heart , but this was great !!
Wondiwoi!
Other parts of Papua New Guinea especially Sarawagat rangs in Morobe province a habitation to the endangered Matschie tree Kangaroos need to be protected too.
God bless the locals!!
Poor thing. Now it has that bullshit ass thing around its neck.
Hi
Gps should have video
I HOPE YOU DIDN'T KILL THAT LITTLE PINK BABY!!!
Poor thing with that huge thing in its neck!!!
How dare they throw a pregnant kangaroo in a bag omg
I never new about these but I don’t agree with that collar I can’t finish this video smh I never comment on videos n this is wrong it’s so cute they is the reason why shhh like that is illegal f. research they could’ve just put cameras on the trees
Nothing will prepare you for 1:29
Keywords: “Empower the local Peoples/landowners”
How about you guys just leave them the hell alone.
Toy kangaroo
They're not endemic to Papua New Guinea, there's a healthy population living on Wimbledon common in the UK.
B. Hagedash that’s racist lol
Okay... seriously? You have a tree kangaroo in a bag. And that's not an issue. How would you like to be captured and put in a bag?
They are endangered, for their safety they are taken to wildlife preserves

How mean, stupid collar. Stop invading their home. so sad.
whoa im early
She and a red panda would make the best pets 😭🥺
The locals are part of the eco-system. Turning them into educated capitalist may have unwanted effects down the road. Also, the colars look cruel.
yeah, all this nature research is really having an effect on these people. now they're building skyscraper housing complexes & running digital advertisements on their smartphones. get real
:3
oh they look tasty
haha
That tree kangaroo is probably going to be traumatized now and maybe have a miscarriage because of the white lady's ambitions.
Yeah I don't like her !!!!!
We have missioonarys6 I n that area to bad she don't read the bible to them so they learn about Jesus

She got injected with sedative before being pet.
