Exactly, they probably passed through multiple countries that are safe like Mexico to get here. Watch the anti migrant protests in Tijuana. Tijuana said the migrants were complaining about not getting enough free stuff in Mexico. Mexico got lucky when Biden won so they could send us the problem.
Well if they are here to just free load then why leave? They should stay longer or stay permanently. The very fact they are going back shows how bad Chicago is for them. Can't say I blame them either.

Historically NYC shelters would give food and holiday meals to its residents. Only NYCHA residents are supposed to receive those turkeys and dinners on the NYCHA premises. Require proof of residence.

Imagine if Americans tried to claim asylum in another country and beat their poor people to the breadline with no remorse. I'm glad I live for what I do because we have food banks here. I'm not telling you thousands of food banks here where you can get $200 worth of food at every food bank. Stop me. You can go to 10 different food banks, and you add up at $200 or food times can get clothing. We can get just about anything you need here housing. You don't have the problems that you have in the inner cities. That's the thing that's bad about it. We don't have an inner city where we I live in this blue state😮

I lived in nycha for 18yrs , it’s bad enough these poor residents are undergoing horrible conditions in their buildings, now they are forced to share with others in need. Very hard to believe this is happening

My son is disabled and a recovering opioid addict. He lives in Brooklyn. He regularly visits food banks and community centers in his neighborhood. I’m so grateful for the support he and other community residents are receiving. If this continues to spread throughout the City I’m fearing for him and his neighbors.

Why on earth do people think that this crisis is due to the newest elected mayor? A bit of a history lesson for those that believe that this is due to the most recent mayor.
This was a bill that had to be signed into law and it exists in many states.

THE BIRD FEEDER ANALOGY
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with birdseed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop! It was everywhere, on the patio tile, the chairs, the table…everywhere!
Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive-bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. The other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I could not even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.
Soon, the backyard was back to like it used to be…quiet, serene, and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let us see here…
Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens and hundreds of thousands, millions. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because half the class doesn’t speak English. Illegals squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. When asked why they breed like cockroaches, the reply is that it is a cultural thing.
It's long overdue for the US government to take down the bird feeder. Otherwise, we will continue cleaning up the poop!

Because people liked the optics and lacked the basic cognitive function to see that the world have a lot of evil people. Whether it’s the condescending politicians that pushed this to virtue signal while getting the props of extra potential voters in their base, or the out of touch folks that paved their road with good intentions with everyone’s sufferings. There is a huge lack of awareness from certain Americans that led it to this point, the rest of the country in the meantime was ridiculed for DECADES for acknowledging the obvious, and we are losing our country all because one side couldn’t handle that their lack of common sense, listening, or observations have resulted in inviting the worst people to walk in entitled to take without any effort to understand it is eroding the nation.
This is just a scratch of the surface compared to what the rest of the country, specifically those sharing the border in the south, had to go through for over a generation. The violence makes the hood look like a walk down the park.

YES. This happened to me in August. I waited on a food line where I live in the Bronx for over an hour with community members and newcomers and when I finally got to the front, they were done. Empty. No more food. It’s the first time that’s happened to me. Other locations where I get food have started giving out less in each bag. Thanks for this report. The burden is real!

This issue is solely the fault of leadership for not prioritizing constituents/ New Yorkers/ Americans over illegal immigrants. They literally could have organized this so NYCHA residents weren’t impacted. Instead you get further tension because they’re causing it.

In 1914, my great grandfather was a 14 year old orphan from the Czech Republic who snuck onto a ship headed to America in France after he ended up not having enough for a ticket after a thief stole all him money and possessions. He was turned away at Ellis Island due to being a potential burden to society due to not having enough money and a place to live lined up in the US and was sent back to France where he had to earn enough money to return to the US. It took him 4 years and they let him in the 2nd try. I'm not sure why these rules aren't still in place.
