    I made this cup last night. I love this method so much better. Some of my squares came out bigger after I put did the 2nd layer of tape. Is this because the cup is tapered? They are only bigger on the first 3 rows. I have 6 total.

    • @starbrightdesigns6129
      @starbrightdesigns6129  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric Jackson yay!! So glad you like this method! Yes, tapered cups always have wonky squares. There are people out there who make templates for tapered cups, but to me the difference is minimal and not super noticeable. If yours are really noticeable, you might have to play with the measurements of your tape/vinyl. I find that making my own tape out of removable vinyl helps! 😊

      * Epoxy
      * Stainless steel tumblers
      * Turner
      *foam, footballs, or pool noodles (to keep cup on turner)
      * silicone or Teflon mat (to protect work area)
      * Nitrile Gloves
      * Respirator (for health safety)
      * Glitter
      * Tape
      * Vinyl
      * Medicine cups, syringe, or other volume measuring tools

      * 91% alcohol (for clean up)
      * Acetone (for clean up)
      * Sand paper
      * Spray paint (similar to glitter colors)
      * Paper towels
      * Cricut or silhouette cutting machine (for vinyl decals)
      * Torch (for bubbles in epoxy)
      * Heat source (to keep work area the right temperature)
      * Dremel (to smooth top rim; sanding blocks work too)

    • @starbrightdesigns6129

      I usually mix extra epoxy when I apply over glitter, usually cup size plus 5-10ml, so for a 30oz I’d mix 35-40ml total. Then for the last coat I mix equal to the cup size, for a 30oz I mix 30ml total.
