Right?! I feel like when the romance is the subplot, I get just enough of it so I’m invested in the relationship, but I don’t feel like the plot of the book is compromised
this is the first video of yours i've seen, but i just wanted to tell you how much i appreciate your attitude toward reading. watching big-shot booktubers go thru 15-30 books a month is very entertaining, but soo unattainable for most people. i really like how you seem to define a good reading month by the quality of the books you read and how much you liked them. also spending time to write two pages about them is a great way to really think about how it impacted you and turn your review over and over in your head. this was a great video, hope to see more from you! :)
Hiii from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 Beth, this afternoon/night i binged all of your content and i love how you decorate your journals. Im really interested in a stationery or craft supplies tour because it seems like you own a very nice collection. ❤😍 oh not to forget that i totally live for a romance subplot! It truly is the best
Thank you so much!! I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I had never considered a supplies tour before, but I might have to make one 😅 and I’m so glad that lots of other people love romance sub plots too! It seems like most people prefer romance being the main genre, so it’s nice to see others who share an interest
I had a very similar reading experience to Howl's Moving Castle when I read it a year ago. I'd heard great things about the Ghibli film, but had never felt like watching it. It had never occurred to me it was based on a book, and when I found out I decided to read it. It was a fun and whimsical experience for sure, even if it's not the type of book I'd normally read.
I loved your spreads. They were very beautiful! Your hand lettering is gorgeous!❤ I also read Carrie Soto is Back. I felt the same as you. She was very immature but for some reason I was rooting for her throughout the book. Even though she was really mean!!! Thanks for a great video!❤❤❤
I think you are the first person i've seen give better than the movies a 1 star! I personally loved it, but i know its not everyones cup of tea and thats ok!! All of your spreads turned out gorgeous!! That frog sticker is so stinkin cute!! I loved hearing your thoughts on all the books you read!
Thank you so much! Yes, I’m very aware I’m in the minority for Better Than the Movies. I’m happy that you enjoy it 😊 I’m hopeful that I’ll find the romance book that really makes me love the genre
I read Howl's Moving Castle after having seen the movie and I felt they compliment each other very well. If you liked the book and generally enjoy animated movies, I'd say give it a try (it's definitely not just for children). =) Love the spreads, especially the one for Carrie Soto!
I did watch the movie after reading the book, and I agree, I think they compliment each other really well. It was a visually stunning film. I really liked it
I’m so happy to see you’re back with more awesome spreads ❤ Have you ever read Assistant to the Villain? I just read it and I liked it but more than 5 people have told me it’s not good 😭 perhaps I have bad taste…
I grew up with the Howls Moving Castle book rather than the movie! I much prefer the novel to the movie, but it might be because I read the book first. Howl was very handsome on the book cover that I remember borrowing from my school library, so the movie was a bit jarring
I agree with your thoughts on the “back seat romance “ subplot. I like this in my books. I want romance but not in the forefront ☺️

Wow, thank you so much! I really appreciate hearing that! Understanding how a book impacted me is exactly why I started a reading journal.
I just found your channel and am blown away by your talent. I loved watching you create and listening to your book descriptions. Thank you.
Thank you so much! 😊 I’m glad you enjoy them!!

Love your very artful journal. The summaries of your readings were also great.
Thank you so much! 😊

Yeah I feel like this is almost an identical experience! I don’t normally pick up middle grade, but I enjoyed this one! I’m glad I gave it a shot

Thank you so much! And Carrie is so unlikable but I loved her drive 😅

you probably get this all the time but your handwriting and lettering is stunning!! i loved watching you put these spreads together :)))
Thank you so much!! 😊

I really enjoyed Carrie Soto is back and Howl's moving castle too. Both great books. I like your spreads a lot
Thank you so much 😊
Your spreads are awesome!
Thank you so much! 😊
i really enjoyed this video along with all of your other monthly wrap ups!☺️ also i was wondering what black pen you’re using to write with?
Thank you so much! I use the Zebra Sarasa gel pens in 0.5. They are the best pens I’ve used for journaling!
I’m so happy to see you’re back with more awesome spreads ❤
Have you ever read Assistant to the Villain? I just read it and I liked it but more than 5 people have told me it’s not good 😭 perhaps I have bad taste…
I have not read Assistant to the Villain. I feel like I’ve heard a lot of mixed things. I wouldn’t say you have bad taste 😅
It sounds like Carrie Soto is more of a contemporary fiction book with a romantic subplot?
Yeah that’s probably a better way of putting it 😅
Can you make a video showing your equipments and tools:)
I hadn’t thought about doing that, but I definitely can!

I feel like that usually happens when we read the book first. The movie just never compares.
personally I like the book of howl's moving castle more than the movie
Totally understandable! The movie skips over a lot of pretty essential stuff 😅
