When u said the listener survives after being attacked it reminded me of a story series on Wattpad called The Bite, The Rise The Blood because the main character gets bit and survives but then it's later discovered that part of the reason she survived was because she was already a werewolf but her wolf had been suppressed

I figured it out!! Maybe there's more than one way to do it, but I found _a_ way.
Hilariously enough, I was cuddling with my girlfriend and she had to go to work, and I had intended to make some put-upon sigh to tease her about leaving me. But my tongue was stuck to the roof of my mouth and my vocal chords were relaxed. So instead of sighing out of my nose, it was a loud _growl_ instead... Not how I meant to figure it out, but hey. XD
