Having met Matt working a couple shows he did, he's the nicest low key guy you could imagine. Fantastic touch and as he says it's all about those little dynamic and timbral variations that make it musical. I used to use the 116ms slap Robben delay thing but after meeting Matt and hearing him live several times I got a Deep Blue Delay. It's less obvious than the RF slap but still thickens and broadens the note. I also got a Royal Blue OD which is fantastic at that amp on 7 sound. Someone asked how I was getting gain but they could still hear all the character of the guitar and pickup selections. I even use it in front of my Fuchs ODS for that slight pushed sound. The only pedal that retains dynamics when stacked into the Fuchs OD channel.
sdkdrummer…..The most puzzling part is that the video starts out as if Steve has no idea who Matt is and also as if Matts basically a no name up and comer....ie first he asks what his name is (cannot pronounce his last name)....then this gem...."Tell everyone who you are and what you do"......UNREAL! It's Matt f'n Schofield! You'd have to literally be living under a rock if you play guitar and don't know who Matt Schofield is. Even Matt seemed stunned which was evidenced by his reply...…"Uhhhhhhhh my name is Matt and I play blues guitar".....SMH
Except Schofield is a Happy Cat.....and put's on a FANTASTIC SHOW........Last 2 Ford shows we attended were crap..Buzzed through 7 songs.... no inter-action with the crowd at all.... seemed Grumpy and drunk...... No more Live Ford for us.....He's Depressed
Nice video Steve, Matt is one of my favorite current blues players, he plays FL often . Mad Professor" Little Tweedy" is fantastic, great Company ! :-)
Filippa, yours was great. You knew who Matt was. Also, glad to see you're still rocking the Angry Driver pedal. I remember on a JB2 video, you posting you wanted one, and then you had one. Glad to see a TH-cam star like yourself, takes time to watch all these videos too.
Not only is Matt whathisname? a monster player and tonesmith - he’s clearly a very decent himan being who wasnt phased by his hosts total ignorance and indeed lack of courtesy n professionalism ..

Matt Schofield!!! Just discovered Matt a few weeks ago for myself and quickly became one of my top 10 favorite guitarist. Thx for sharing Steve.
His playing reminds me so much of Robben Ford. That's about the highest compliment I can pay a guitarist.
With a dab of albert collins...

Great Classic Player seen him a number of times in the UK. Shows how pedals should be used!
Great interview Steve!!! It’s always cool to see a player use effects pedals for minor tonal changes. Less can be more!!!
'Is it Schofield?'...really...
Thanks Brother's, well done and thanks for sharing!
Jezuz what a glorious fucking tone!!
Hi Steve, this reminds me of a video I did 🤣

Matt is sooooo good.
Cool vid Steve!!
Matt, is it, Schofield? What do you play? blues? Really? This guy has a guitar channel? Oh buddy, we're in trouble
Dude! Matt Schofield is a serious talent with some great CDs. Check him out. Tasty bluesman.
steve, you should reach out to mad professor to see if you can borrow a “1” pedal for a demo. EVH in a box!
Hey Steve from Boston, you don’t seem to know who you are talking to.
The clean sounded best to me
Schofield !?!?!
its a bit painful you didnt know who he was. considering your a guitar player. It came accross as condescending

No tap Tempo!!!oh no
every delay needs Tap Tempo, especially if you play live
MesaGuitarGuy YES!!!!!!! I would not advertise that one. It not 1978.
Embarrassing
