And add to the price substantially. You can't get the tip that good in a commercial high volume environment. This setup is only high volume in your garage. Nowhere close to Bergen speed.
sort them for OAL into .002-.003" piles and set your tipper up for the shortest then as you go through you sort plies adjust your die accordingly. it goes really fast. I use the OAL comparator gauge from Accuracy One.
Is it necessary to sort by length and or trim Bullets first? Am about to order everything needed to Point bullets and ask myself if pointing 6mm Bullets makes sense (Berger 109gr for my 6Dasher). THX!
Yeah, for the premium price you pay for Bergers.. They should already be perfect. You don't need to point Hornady's! 🤣 I'm glad to see EC got this thing out there.. For you Blue & Yellow box tiny groop nerds. Thanks for sharing Kyle.
Why does F class still need something as big as a 7 PRC? I thought they only shot out to 1000 yards. I understand in the past why you would go that big, but PRC has proven you can shoot quite effectively at range with smaller calibers.
This is a PRCW, which is a 6.5 PRC necked up to 7mm. The reason we use it is to cut through the wind as good as possible. Our target is 1 MOA at 1,000 yards, so trying to keep 20 shots inside 1 MOA in any wind condition is tough.
The bullet feeder die places bullets onto the bullet holder shell plate (included in the kit), and the extractor die pulls the bullets away and sends them down the tube. Anything that you add in-between is separate from the kit (bullet tipping die, EC sorting die, etc.) - Kyle
Understandable for sure. You can also tip bullets single stage! Erik sells the "EC Bullet Holder" which is for use in single stage presses (you'll still need to buy a tipping die though). -Kyle
The rabbit hole is deep Gavin! 😁
And not cheap!
There’s a carrot at the bottom though!!
Hahahaha
Giraud Tool company makes an awesome Meplat trimmer. The machine also does case trim and chamfer in one go.
So they could just do this at the Berger Factory right? Right???

Excellent improvement over others. A real game changer for f class competition. The meplat trimming from ogive is foremost - absolutely paramount!
I read the same thing about the importance of meplat trimming (from the Hoover tipping die manual). Maybe we'll try it sometime! :) - Kyle
Since this obviously is useful, why don´t premium bullet makers like Berger, offer pointed bullets as an option?

Nice video as always, one tip - please try not to keep your hands in the pocket! It doesn't look good...
You mention the tipping die, is there a die for the base.

That would increase the premium.
Love my Lee Bullet feeder on the Lee 6 Pack press!
Thanks 👍
That is the sexiest rifle I have seen nice job
Would the bullets not get damaged dropping down the tube in the beginning of the cycle
My thought exactly as I watch the bullet drops down the tube, at a high speed tip first. I might want to get some kind of landing pad in that bin.
Something I’ve done by hand with a flat file very gingerly for awhile…..Tom berenger done his so I had to….😉

No explanation of what the Cortina dies actually do?

Really wish there was a more low budget friendly way to get into these sports
Any bolt action or gas rifle without a muzzle brake under 33 caliber is legal in f class.
@@ErikCortina *looks over at sub grand AR10* hmmm, but I really like running my suppressor
Omg 6.5 creedmore omg 6.5 prc omg 300 prc OMG 7 PRC omg 22 arc omg 7-6.6 PRC lmao the precision world is like kids that are never happy.
I don’t know what it is, but I think that Russian soldiers on the front line will be interested in this machine )
🥳👍✌️‼️

I’m sure these videos and this stuff is great for those who can afford it all but all I see is $ cha-ching, $ cha-ching, $ cha-ching.
