You probably don’t need to rent a car for your first trip to Las Vegas (unless you have a bunch of specific off-Strip activities in mind).
Driving is an inefficient way to get around the Strip because it’s bustling with heavy traffic, and some traffic lights on Las Vegas Blvd are incredibly long waits-like 10 minutes per cycle. Plus, parking can be a hassle and added expense.
Taxis and rideshares are available, though catching one can be time-consuming due to the sheer number of people, surge pricing, and Uber/Lyft pickup spots typically not being in convenient locations.
