The book is great, start is very interesting... but the storyline is getting too much! it's been a struggle to listen as more chapters passes by, especially the story of darian and khale... it's like darian is not even thinking anymore aside from convincing himself that it's his right place and just want to bashed in the glory of being a heartless comander that bends at the chancellor's every whim in the pretense of proving himself loyal and erects his thing after valeria everydamn time ... khale is just a selfish betrayer and has no qualm with the result of his actions blaming the laughters of children instead of actually using his head. now I don't even know anymore if i still want to continue listening to this anymore.... felt like just dropping it. i felt sorry for torri, she suffered so much... but her character and magic development is so damn slow. now she's even loosing the control of it again.
This is too well written. Thank goodness for Tesla the only person with a bucket of innocent and a barrel of common sense. No thinking just reacting. I want to learn what she becomes later in life. She better make it to later in life. P.S. Great Narrator!
I've been enjoying these books, but also darian's story of how he became so brainwashed was very short and not convincing. Him defending the chancellor constantly and Astoria never telling him about how to drains people's blood to the brink of death constantly for months and then drinking it. Like cmon he is clearly evil, "offering to save all the watchers if she gives up, oer kill all of them" makes it sound better than give up or I will kill everyone I have captured haha, but clearly the same thing
Weekweak too. Committing betrayal under the pretext of love for someone is most repulsive. I know it’s fiction but I was seriously disgusted with the character I wanted him dead 😅
