    I'm that guy commenting on a 7 year old video (sorry). Are you still using this in 2024? We have an established membership platform and are looking for the best approach to scale on the front end. Love your videos, thank you!

    "How can I take what I do into a monthly membership process (funnel)". I just watched Mike's Webinar and your review. Time to think! Thank you for your excellent review of both Mike Dillard's impact and clarification of this online entrepreneurial innovation. Just missed the 1 hr. deadline by Mike today...THINKING...

    Is this program, the way you described, on thrive themes? How is the membership program where it is $1, then charges after $8 setup? Stripe Subscriptions?

    Hi Miles. I watched like 50 of your videos here. Easy to understand and straight to the point. I like this video especially because its like visual and you can understand the process. Do you have some tweaks on this "sketch" on particular for 2019. Do you use the same exact funnel as here in 2019?

  • @patricklerouxbusinessenligne
    @patricklerouxbusinessenligne 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As always excellent content Miles... right to to point, so gld to know you. Four really quick questions : 1. For the 7 days 1$ trial subscribers, do you give them access to all you past content or are they limited to only a couple of videos until they become a 37$/month member or a 197$/year member ? Mike Dillard only makes 3 videos available for his 1$ 14 days trial... 2. How many pieces of content, and how long, do you produce per month Ex: 0ne 15-30 minutes videos per month or more ? 3. I guess members can ask you questions under each video lesson ? 4. Do you have a private Facebook group only available for members of your membership program ?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The trial members get access to only a part of our overall content... We drip out additional content every month they continue to pay. This way every time they make a payment there are new items available for them reinforcing the value exchange of the transaction. Annual members also receive monthly drip items, they don't get the whole year at once...
      We produce approximately 3 to 6 new audio files per month, one members only Q&A video and a few bonus live streams in our Facebook group. With that said it is totally different depending on the niche and what you offer. This works for us.
      Yes we have a private Facebook group and that is working very well to's per additional discussions.

    I'm currently offering a 7 day free trial before automatically billing the $25/month membership. Is there an advantage to $1 trial vs free? I've been seeing more opt-ins since implementing the free trial but about 40% of that new traffic is cancelling before Day 8, wondering if it's because they aren't "invested" in it, even if it's just $1?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So on your seven day, free trial do they input their credit card? If so can you offer an annual upsell immediately after the free trial starts?
      This is why we run the dollar trial is because we get their credit card number, they become a customer, then we offer them an annual upsell on the next page that's a one click upsell since the party enter their credit card.
      If your system can do that with a free trial that would work, but someone who takes you up on a free trial is not a paying customer yet someone who takes you on a one dollar trial is a paying customer... Is a big psychological difference to people who become customers and a higher likelihood they will pay you more in the future!!!

    • @yogawithkassandra
      @yogawithkassandra 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they need to enter their credit card to sign up for the 7 day trial, it automatically bills them $25 on Day 8 unless they cancel during the trial and this is all very obviously stated to them during sign up.
      I think the annual upsell is what I'm missing and what I will add in. Right now monthly is my only option. thanks :)

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was a huge upgrade for our membership program! I talk about the 'angle' of the upsell video here and more about that funnel: www.milesbeckler.com/six-figure-membership-funnel-hack/

  • @cryptowealthonyt
    @cryptowealthonyt 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is my correct understanding that right now this is not usually the funnel that you lead with cold traffic. From your videos it looks like you us a self liquidating offer >> Email Submit >> OTO >> One time upsell to run cold traffic and then after building a relationship with the email list using retargeting and look alike audiences and email broadcast to advertise your membership site? Am I correct on this?

  • @SMBD100
    @SMBD100 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Miles - Great video and blog post! I have 3 questions, if you'd be so kind to answer:
    1 - Is the 2% conversion on the OTO 1 is of ALL ad clicks, or of those who opted in? 2 - Is the $1 trial an automatic billing if they don't cancel? 3- Do you hide the buy button, price and monthly payment until the video reveals the offer?

  • @TomFlynn

    I have a younger audience on my youtube and I've been hesitant to make a monthly subscription any more than $8/mo. Am I undercutting myself or should I keep the price tag low to have higher retention?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Testing will tell... And it is not a commodity, but it is all about what you help them with. I would recommend testing at least $17/mo to see if you get a similar conversion rate... That is what... Like 52 cents per day? Still super cheap!

      Miles, I have a question... what should one expect as a healthy retention rate for your membership site?

    Hi Miles,
    Great discuss and curiosity in finding out more about Russell Branson's toy, Clickfunnels brought me to your site.
    Finding you has somehow succeeded in calming down my boiling blood and I believe that I may finally be on to something that would enable me to at last achieve my goal in Internet Marketing.
    I now want your opinion on how to choose between your business model and that of Mike Dillard - I need to sign up to study under the direction and guidance of a serious mentor without having to break the Bank to get what I need to have done. I have operated a brick and mortar ethnic cosmetics business for over 3 decades and can't complain about my blessings - however, being so close to retirement, I need a digital product or membership site that would allow me to teach members all that I had learned and known in my business so that the younger generation can also learn from it and take it to higher and more prosperous heights. Possible or just a dream?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely possible... Do you have a clear understanding of who you are best suited to help? The audience you will serve? And what problems/questions you can help them with?
      That is the biggest part, then build a list by giving them great content and then build a relationship with them via email.

    Hi Miles - really loving all your videos, and learning a lot. I have a question: I have a membership business that already has 2 tiers, a $25/month level and a $99/month level. I love the idea of the $1 trial - going to add that right away. But how would you recommend someone going about upselling through two levels? Separate the offers? Wait and offer an upsell at a later time? I'd love your thoughts- and thanks in advance!

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +David-Dorian Ross it depends... Are you giving them the two options before checkout? If so you could make them both dollar trial -> annual
      If you sell the 25 only and upsell the 99 then you could add the annual on the back end of that... If they say no to 99 they get the annual 25 downslope... If they say yes to the 99 you can follow that with an annual upsell offer.

    • @DavidDorianRoss
      @DavidDorianRoss 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Currently I'm giving people both options before checkout - and frankly it's not a very sophisticated offer page at the moment. I started with the $99 membership only for members who come to live classes, and only recently figured out a way to offer a lower-priced level for members who would only get recorded classes. (The higher priced membership includes the recorded classes btw)
      I never thought of offering them the option of a $1 trial for either. That's brilliant- thank you!

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As you move forward, one other thing I felt nudged to share is that options can often cause confusion... Confusion causes people to take no option.
      Sometimes it is better to create a 'yes or no' path for them.... It removes a ton of friction.
      So, selling them on the $25 course at $1 trial being the sole focus of that sales page... Then offer them the upsell to the 'live version' on the one click upsell.... To $99/mo.
      This could bill immediately or you could have it start on day 7, too.
      Then if they say yes to that, you can offer them a whole year for 50% off, one payment now of $497 or $397 if you'd like.
      IF they say no to the $99 you can offer them the full year of the $25 membership for $97 or some crazy good deal....
      Every step you are simply asking 'yes or no' never a choice beyond that.
      And, you are giving them better and better deals as they move forward through the funnel, so it is positioned as 'You are going to need to practice this all year, change takes time, etc.... If you are willing to commit for a year, I'll give you a deal, now'
      So it isn't like you are 'selling more' you are actually helping them 'save money over the year'
      Then, you get those annual upsells which bill immediately and BOOM your advertising budget jumps up and up and up, letting you run more ads and scale relatively quickly.
      Lots of moving parts there, but it is totally doable and once all setup could be a wicked-powerful funnel that allows you to market a $1 item that could result in ~$500 sales.
      If you need help putting something like this together on the tech side, my buddy Dave at www.integratepro.com could wire this all up for you, for sure. He did my migration and got my membership all setup on the new system when I moved... Great dude. Didn't want to leave you swimming in the 'oh shit, that sounds horribly complex'-swamp. :D

    Hey Miles, now that I finished my membership funnel w/ $1 trial, I have a question to clarify my understanding of the conversion figures you show on your funnel videos.
    So, for your $27 OTO funnel with an OCU if I remember correctly you quoted about 2% conversion on the OTO and around 50% conversion for the OCU. Now, with the $1 membership trial as the first offer the lead sees, and given the low entry cost of a buck, do you get a higher rate than 2% or about same? How about the membership OCU? 50% as well? Thanks!!

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Higher on the trial, but not much... 3% or so. One click upsell is closer to 30% or so.

    Hi Miles. Just wanted to say thanks for all the awesome free content. I have been struggling with my memberships sites mainly in providing content. I have been in the survival nich with a fb fan page of 31k and a closed group of 6k people but have been hesitant to really push traffic to my membership as Im not sure of the best way to provide training. So I am going into a new niche as I am a speaker and will make videos of my self on my chosen topic. What do you recommend for creating content for members?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To create content from members it's all about knowing your members… Who are they? Where are they in their lives? What are their biggest problems? Challenges? Fears? Desires?
      Create solutions to their problems and help them achieve their desires... You have the side benefit of this large fan page and group. If you don't know what their fears and desires are, ask them!
      Off the top of my head, I assume that they're very into the DIY stuff which lends itself to info products quite well. I know that a lot of these people are also very consumer focused because fear drives them to purchase more survival stuff.
      All in all, it'll take a bunch of testing before you really solidify what works best for you and your audience and what they respond to.

    Cool video mate..., My question is : Are you scaling the same as or similar to what Mike Dillard is doing with his List Grow example? If not why not? Realistically, is 6 months enough time to build test and scale to say 10,000 members?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow... You scaled your membership to 10,000 members in 6 months?!?!
      That is impressive...

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think I misunderstood your comment... One thing to keep in mind. Mike Dillard's membership that this 'how to' is based on never got above 3,500 or so members. So he didn't even make it to 10k
      Another thing... He isn't running this style business anymore, he is simply selling the how to, now.

    • @dbentrepreneur
      @dbentrepreneur 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the reply Miles. I'm just about to start setting up a membership system. Looking to model through your video series . I see how you used Mike Dillards system but then moved away from click funnels. I haven't done his course but was considering it until i found you...So Mike's 1000+ daily subscribers aren't all joining his membership but are all joining his list? Is that how he built it up to the 6 figure months? By upselling to his list?I need to figure out exactly how hes doing this. Any advice will be hugely appreciated!

    • @MilesB

    I want to build my membership website with Thrive themes and I'm still collecting information about everything that I need. One thing that I'm not sure can be done if I use Thrive Cart to integrate with my WordPress membership site. Meaning by the time of purchase, an account is created and credentials are being sent to the user. Is this something that can be done only with Thrive Themes and Thrive Cart?

      You need a plugin that will interface between thrive cart and thrive themes... The plugin would give access to specific pages for customers after they buy.

    Hi Miles, been finishing up an hour long VSL planned to sell a $27 product (originally $149) plus bonuses, among them is a FREE 30 day trial membership, billed at $27 monthly thereafter. So I'm just putting them right in like Dan Kennedy suggests. Do you see any issue with this approach?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question and honestly this is a little bit of a danger zone... Russell Brunson got his merchant accounts shut down because of all the chargebacks he received from a system like this. The FTC also started cracking down on forced memberships in the upsell positions.
      I would at least require them to do a dollar trial forced them to click a button or check a box saying that there open to the dollar trial that will re-bill at $27 per month... That's a minimum.
      Personally, I only promote my dollar trial and monthly recurring membership program separately because I wanted to be incredibly clear that they're getting on a billing program.
      If people don't realize they're being charged monthly look at a statement and have five charges and five months for something they've never used, there to go straight to your merchant account with chargebacks and that can cause all kinds of problems if it happens a lot.

    Hey Miles, watching this again (had it bookmarked) in 2018. It looks like you moved away from $1 trial? And just go for discounted one time buy in?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We just launched that new approach about a month ago! Kind of some internal reasons that are closely related to the fact that we were still 'selling' the items that went into the membership at retail... And it just didn't make sense to have a $1 give access to something we sold for $17 (we drop these twice a month)
      So now it is $37 to get the item today and hundreds more in value!
      Definitely a lower conversion rate, but it looks like a higher retention rate, so it will take a few months to really get the data I'm after...

      @@MilesB Hi miles! Wondering if you could make a quick update video on that method? the reply you gave here is really interesting, and I'm wondering if there's some new data or insights you can share about this model (like does the "free video reveals" approach still work for you, or did you switch that for a lead magnet optin instead).
      tnx so much, hope you'll get this!

  • @SuperheroArmorychannel

    Instead of sending cold traffic to your membership funnel, wouldn't it be a lot more cost efficient to market it to your list instead after you've captured them as a lead?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have two funnels that I 'stack' on eachother... My main funnel offers an OTO of a course... Then in email 4 (I believe) in the follow up sequence they hear about the membership... Then again around day 10 and a couple times per month for life.... Indeed this is the best converting traffic.
      That said, I do send cold traffic directly to the membership opt in page, then offer the membership as an OTO... Not as good of conversions, but there is a list in place here that follows up with them after they opt in to nurture them too... If they don't join after that list completes, I move them to the other list mentioned above to offer different items.

    • @SuperheroArmorychannel

      I don't do any one-on-on consulting... sorry mate. This video thing is a side project. My real business is with my wife and we are full time on that (hence me having no free time).... Plus we travel a lot.
      Keep in mind that I built my first websites in the late 1990's and made my first money online in 2003... Took me until 2010 to go 'full time' when I was doing mostly service based work. Full time from the website income took until 2013.
      It is a long path that requires a lot of pushing forward into the unknown and adapting... But it is possible.

    If I created a free e-book, about information, let's say for dental implants, I then do a paper click campaign and the people who download the free e-book, Then go to my thank you Paige, I didn't generate a email list and snail mail list, what is another good company to send typical snail mail advertising to their house

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Asking for email address only will get you a WAY higher conversion rate than trying to get the full snail mail address... The more you ask for the less people will make it through.
      That said, I use this greeting card service because greeting cards get through gatekeepers and get opened by the intended recipient: www.milesbeckler.com/cards
      Typical 'junk mail' hits the trash more than cards... People can't not open a card! hahahaha.
