Regarding when you were in Expedition and you were confused about the T3/T2 troops. I believe it gives you access to all the troops you have ever trained, including dead troops :)

Yes, this is true. Any forces that have been trained appear in the stages even if they are dead

not sure if anyone replied your pulling cav problem btw... basically you can select the type of troops as a garrison leader what you wanna receive as reinforcements, then the game will by default select only troops that you have selected as reinforcements if you dont use ur presets. also the deafault delection always starts with inf then cav then arch then siege.
so for example if you have no inf left it will autoselect the next thing that is on the troop reccomendation.
for example if the flag says inf/arch/siege and you run out of siege it will auto fill ur archers.
the tier of troops is always t5 to t1
Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob jemand auf das Problem mit der Kavallerie geantwortet hat.
Grundsätzlich kannst du als Garnisonsleiter die Art der Truppen auswählen, die du als Verstärkung erhalten möchtest. Das Spiel wählt dann standardmäßig nur die Truppen aus, die du als Verstärkung ausgewählt hast, wenn du deine Voreinstellungen nicht verwendest. Außerdem beginnt die Deafault-Auswahl immer mit der Infanterie, dann der Kavallerie, dann dem Bogen und dann der Belagerung.
Wenn du also zum Beispiel keine Infanterie mehr hast, wählt sie automatisch die nächste Truppe aus, die in der Truppenempfehlung steht.
Wenn die Flagge zum Beispiel Infantrie/Bogen/Belagerung anzeigt und dir die Belagerung ausgeht, werden deine Bogenschützen automatisch aufgefüllt.
Der Truppenrang ist immer t5 bis t1

Why are you using presets? Just click on the buikding and manipulate whatever troops and random commanders it chooses (deselecting cav)
next time just unmark cavarly on recommended troops and you don't have to worry about presets
