He knows when to push and pull, conserve his energy at an appropriate musical timing, pay homage to the music, give TEXTURE to the instrument, and respond to his opponent's movement. This comes from decade of experience in underground battles. They don't just attack, they strategize.

Ryan didn’t use the full time given for his 1st round. For some reason he cut his turn off abruptly. If a competitor cuts a round short, announcers tend to give the 3 count to signal to the DJ to restart the track and for the other dancer to get ready.
