Necropolis can win only when ghost dragons are extremly lucky on aging, and dread knights are extremly lucky on double damage and curse, and even zombies procs some times. But in reality, necropolis have always more skeletons from necromancy.
Arni Geir and Dungeon made even more mistakes. Why rush with Red Dragons when noone can reach you in round 1? Without mistakes on both sides it would be easy Dungeon win. Try it by yourself and you will see.
it's hard to make a 100% fair comparison playing both teams yourself, however, Dungeon is slightly better in terms of pure army strength, but the fight is usually close when both sides play well.
I know undead suffer when you remove all morale factors and spells, since they tend to work well around their immunity's and one of their strengths is how little some units chip down over several fights, but allot of their unit's are significantly better under the control of a human then they are in a AI slug match.

Although - regardless of what the so-called pros might tell you - Conflux is as weak. I know this 1st hand because I've always been a Conflux fan and, while I've never been a good Heroes 3 player - I still had my moments and even in those moments my Conflux army got wrecked by Archangels and Behemoths. The top creatures of Conflux (Magic Elementals and Phonixes) who are, supposedly, Conflux' carriers die so freaking fast that it's downletting. Get orb of vulnerability (which can be obtain so fucking easily), and bye-bye MEs. As for Phoenixes... no damage and no HPs, despite of their 4 per week growth. Played a hotseat game against my friend many years ago (16, maybe more, I don't recall exactly how many) and I had 900+ Phoenixes while he had 380 Archangels if I remember correctly. I attack his AAs and kill 30 or so, he retaliates and floors 200 of my birds. At the end of the battle he still had 40-50 AAs left, while my birds died in the 1st 3-4 rounds. And yes, I had to attack 1st because otherwise he would have butchered me anyway (he had better army if I remember correctly). But like I said, despite of what the so-called pros might tell you Conflux is really weak overall. Sure, level 2 and 3 creatures are the strongest for their tier, but you can't win games with level 2 and 3 creatures, so...

I've always wondered, I did know Conflux was weak and frankly never understood those that praised it - I like Necro's VL and DK, those are badass - but as you said, a couple of good creatures don't get you far. I think the strongest, overall, is Castle, although, from my point of view, Tower and Rampart give good competition.
Castle is not the strongest town. It's a cheat town. The strongest doesn't exist. Or if you prefer, Tower Dungeon Rampart Necro and Fortress are all equally strong. Also, I never play Necro (I don't like the cheat skill called "necromancy" that raises shitloads of skelletons that you simply can't counter in mid to late game), but I do agree that DKs are badass. They're my favorite creature in the entire series of HOMM, followed closely by Naga Queens, Magic Elementals, Chaos Hydras. Overall, I like Fortress and Rampart the most... well, not that you care but I told you anyway :)
Yeah, Minotaurs still hit like a truck. But they don't *feel* as powerful as they did in 2 anymore... There's just not the same type of gravitas to it.
Haha yeah and with it they are OP. OP with necromancy advantage, worst without. They have 3 creatures on top of their food-chains, 3 creatures on the bottom, and 1 around the middle.
Medusa never had any good stats but somehow always does okay damage. Dungeon's greatest feat are both shooters without penalty but imo they always lacked a tanky unit besides the black dragons
@@bosspoke 10 more points over 50 is literally 20% more hp. Also the build chain is cheaper, the building is cheaper, hits first, and it's not carrying a faction with the lowest HP of the game

Infernal troglodytes are among the least useful tier 1, but as tier 1 they are fine. Harpy hags with bless may be the best tier 2 unit, and are otherwise on the high end. Evil eyes are good. Better half of tier 3. Medusa queen is decent, just below average. Minotaur king is atleast top 4 in tier 5. Scorpicore is one of the worst tier 6, sure but not entirely useless. Black dragons are great, and definetely among the better tier 7.
These comparisons are plain silly: strengths and weaknesses of the castes go way beyond pure weekly growth. Necropolis is strong at necromancy - ever heard of it? How about 9999 skeletons in 100 weeks? And this is what exactly will happen.

Necropolis relies on troops gained not only throuth city, but also through necromancy , this was not included , also i think Necropolis is cheaper ?

In the Champion's case the equestrian itself is ridiculously small compared to any other human soldier from Castle.
the scale is off due to the models being just a representation of the unit, like the dragons should be much bigger and so on.
Why did cca 500 Vampire Lords only recover 27 units against Black Dragons, but against Stronghold they recovered more than cca 100 units per strike?
I know I am late more than a year in a replay, it's because black dragons have HUGE defense skill which reduces damage significantly.

I made a test using 100k gold per unit (only upgraded) and Necropolis keep loosing every match. They have a big dependence on necromancy

minotaurs are quite tanky, but of course not on the level of dendroids or mighty gorgons.
