What country besides the Vatican have a Christian rule? Zero. Every 1st world country on earth has satan in their ear telling them what to do.
If 1st world countries were Christian ruled, the west wouldn't be in the state its in.

@@JohnBloggart What translation is it that you're using where the word bishop appears in this passage? Every passage I have seen is translated overseer. This appears to be some type of intentional deception on your part to make it seem like that structure of the catholic church with its bishops is correct yet this verse states otherwise. This verse in fact states that even among their own number false teachers will rise. This is directly against any type of succession but instead in favor of reading our bible and following Christ not following fallible men.

I have been very open and forthright about the fact that I do not want this channel to turn into a debate about religious denominations. I have deleted and removed countless posts, comments, and commenters from this channel over the last few days and will continue to do so for those who will not understand and respect the heart and purpose of this channel. So it would be best that we don’t keep feeding those who come on here and argue for their own particular heresy, whither they be right or wrong. At least on this channel, this subject is closed.

Mom & Dad dropped me off at the Methodist church Sunday so they could get over their hangovers, as a boy of 13 I got saved in a charismatic non-denominational church, served as a deacon and took my family to an assembly of God Church for a number of years then later Pastored a southern Baptist Church. Found good people in all of them took something from all of them discarded something from all of them

Hello Dwayne I'd like to say thank you very much for making a dedicated video for such an insignificant matter it really means a lot, I want to say this in the most respectful way possible because the last thing I'd want to do is to offend you, but I simply don't find 1 or more men who built the majority of the church in Eastern Orthodoxy, unlike many protestant denominations our church was not built upon the teachings of men sitting at home who decided they wanted to shape the church by their own will and own understanding of the bible. The traditions of the church such as the clothing, the liturgy, the worship style comes from the very beginning of the church, the teachings or theology comes from the Bible, and only a very small amount comes from the teachings of the Early Church fathers who only wrote what they wrote to combat heretical teachings of that time, they never tried to add or subtract from the teachings of Jesus, only clarification of his teachings. Even though we agree and disagree for some things I still have a lot of respect for you Dwayne, you've taught me a lot. God bless you

I couldn't agree more; I experienced God's saving grace in 2020; churches were closed, so I spent the year researching denominations to decide which one I'd eventuallu join - and the answer to my surprise (and delight) was I would not join a church; no need to complicate the word of God, yet I understand and support why people join.

      Wise decision!
The institutional church today is apostate in that they deny the Gospel we read in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 in favor of man’s idea of how we are saved, which always places the burden on the believer ‘works’ when it is Christ and Christ alone who is the sole reason for anyone being saved to begin with.

Greetings from Australia brother. I'm with you, and it's a comfort to hear a grounded believer. It makes me feel like I really AM a member of a church - well, I do anyway, but of course the world tells me otherwise. Jesus' definition of a true gathering is the one I believe: "Wherever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I." Fellowship of the saints can take many forms, especially these days. A lot of people have come on board since that bogus worldwide medical event, and many of them have never seen the inside of a church. Meanwhile, I'm told 10,000 churches have closed in the States every year. I see that as no cause for lament. Churchgoers are being sifted, it seems, from Christians. Those newcomers need to hear balanced Christianity and avoid being hijacked by glib, subjective "Christianity" on the one hand, and theologians who engage in never-ending, vain disputation on the other. I'm narrowing a lot of my viewing down to very few Christian channels now, and I'm glad you're one of them.

A point of scholarship. "Petros" in Greek does not refer to a "little pebble" as you indicated. This comes from a strained reading of the Greek by Luther and others which attempts to show that the difference between "Petra (fem.)" (translated - on this 'rock') and "Petros (masc.)" (translated - you are 'Peter') indicates a substantial difference between the two words, since the masculine 'petros' is used in some classical greek poetry to refer to a pebble, whereas the typical gender for Rock is feminine. There is a very simple reason why this argument has been discarded by biblical scholars (including John Calvin) since its appearance during the German Reformation. Jesus and his disciples did not speak greek, and Peter was never named "Peter". They spoke Aramaic, and in Aramaic, there is no gender-difference for the accusative or vocative of "Rock," which in Aramaic is "kephas". So Jesus literally says to Simon, while standing in Caesarea Philippi next to a giant rock (you can go there today, my brother has been), "You are 'Kephas', and on this 'Kephas' I will build my Church."
This is why in the King James Bible and others you will see Peter called "Cephas" because this is a more accurate transliteration of the Aramaic than "Peter" which appears in the Greek about a century later, when the Greek and Egyptian Fathers began assembling the Greek and Syriac texts from which modern biblical scholarship draws it's roots.
The translators of Matthew used Koine Greek, not Attic or classic greek, and they used Petros for Peter simply because he is a man, and the gender of the noun Petra is disregarded when constructing the masculine Proper noun "Petros". Furthermore, everywhere else in scripture that God gives someone a new name, it indicates the bestowal of a spiritual role on the person that elevates them in salvation history. Abram becomes Abraham (Father of many nations) , Jacob becomes Israel (contender with God), Sari becomes Sarah (Princess), Simon becomes Kephas (The Rock).
Furthermore Jesus indicates exactly what role "Simon son of Jonah" is entering upon being renamed "Kephas":
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
This is not a "proof-text" that "proves" the Apostolic tradition of Petrine supremacy, but it is important not to "add" to the scriptures by imposing bad scholarly traditions on them, especially not those constructed by ideologically motivated 16th century scholars. I say again even John Calvin, the arch-nemesis of Catholicism, rejects the scholarship of the 'little pebble' interpretation.
lastly I absolutely love your videos, I think you have a much needed perspective and life experience for men today in general...

Well said, I went down this rabbit hole trying to fully understand the meaning behind what Jesus was saying here, and I found what you laid out to be exactly correct.
It’s also worth mentioning that in the context of the verses, it doesn’t fit at all that Jesus would be calling Peter “pebble”. He’s very clearly praising him in these verses, and it does not fit at all the he would praise him in verse 17, call him pebble in verse 18, which is less than flattering, and then go back to praising him by saying I will give you the keys to heaven ect.
It simply doesn’t fit and only affirms that this was in fact Jesus anointing him as an earthly authority.

Can you please show me where Luther is responsible for the "little pebble" interpretation?
I've read the 'Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope', which, although written by Melanchthon, is the formal Lutheran position re this interpretation (and just references the positions of many early church fathers on the issue.) I've also read many of Luther's own works and many works of the Lutheran reformers and never ran across it. First time I heard of it is in this video.

Why then did Jesus change his name to Peter ? Also. Matthew 16, where Jesus says to Peter, “I will give you the keys, the kingdom of heaven. Whenever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whenever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Jesus does that with Peter individually, with that second person singular in Matthew 16.He also says in Matthew 18 that when you’re dealing with the dispute, go to your brother one-on-one and then have two or three address him, and then if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the CHURCH If he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. And he says to the church collectively, “Whatever you bind under earth shall be bound in heaven, whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Now there are a lot of ways of understanding the binding and loosening, but it seems to be some kind of power, right? Some kind of authority, that whatever you do here on earth will be ratified or affirmed in heaven in some way. Jesus clearly works through Peter to be the rock and t9 build his church and gave Authority to forgive sins in John 20-23 . Notice YOU in that verse . And to feed his lambs as a Shepard does . But he now is Shepard hang on that can’t be right but it is and clear as day in scripture. Jesus did give Peter Authority to build his church .

That goes completely against any definition of faith anyone has ever come up with. I’m not clear what point you’re trying to make, but I don’t think this is the way you want to make it.

As a practicing Catholic I would like to comment. Jesus was installing Peter as the head of the church. I do believe that Christ started this church. In the Aramaic Jesus called Peter Kepha. And In Greek Petra. Both meaning Rock or stone. He was not saying that Peter was more important than him. But that Peter was going to bring Christ throughout the world. I’m not trying to change your mind I just felt the need to say my piece. Jesus is the most important discussion this poor country needs. God bless you and your family.

Where in the Bible does it say that Peter was in Rome and was the head of the church? Paul was in Rome but never mentioned anything about Peter being there. Jesus is referred to as the Rock in many scriptures. Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the Life! No pope or priest ever died for your sins. Only Jesus died for our sins! Please keep your focus on Christ and not the teachings and traditions of the RCC. There is a lot of paganism mixed in with the Catholic Church. These things are there to take the focus off of Jesus Christ.

I am very skeptical of speaking in tongues and all the waving of hands etc and i don't believe that after someone truly asks Jesus to be his / her savior that it can be taken away if you happen to die on a day when you haven't forgiven someone or if you messed up in some way but i still go and pay tithes etc because i don't think it really matters if i disagree with some of the beliefs. and left a traceable and verifiable, un-Christ-like trail of corruption, torture, death, destruction, mayhem, murder, political intrigue and discord behind them. You left that part out. None of it ordained by Christ. As for your comment about 3 year olds?
Do they not fall under this command of Christ? "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." ~ Mark 16:15
This will be my last reply to you. Keep preaching churchism, I'll stick with a simple Gospel that is open to all who choose to follow Jesus, as opposed to some man-made tomfoolery. He's been with me for near 70 years now and I see no reason to leave him in order to follow men, their silly traditions and made up obstacles to get to where He's leading me.
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." ~ Matthew 23:15

To settle disputes, Christ didn't say to turn to himself to resolve the problem... now we can infer that Christ solves all issues and disputes, but he rather gives us the tools we need to resolve difficult matters. And he does this by telling us to turn to the Church, which means there is indeed a body of believers which is guided by the Advocate to assist the faithful into all Truth.

God bless you, Dewayne, and God bless us all. The main problem with the mass variety of denominations is that many of them lose sight of who God is and how He wants to be worshiped as He directed in scripture. Would we accept latter day saints and jehovah witnesses as Christians just because they proclaim Jesus Christ? Even though they both deny that Jesus is the eternal God. What about oneness pentacostals? Denying the triune nature of our Lord to prefer a modalism false version. I say this all only with love and respect. Only the Lord knows who will be with Him in paradise. I simply encourage whoever reads this to compare what they believe with those believers who lived right after the time of our Lord's ministry on earth. Seek the Lord. Seek the truth. Thank you for reading, and God bless you.

The real questions, in my opinion, are: Are you a good person who does your best to help others without expectations of earthly rewards? Do you learn the best you can from your mistakes and truly forgive yourself and all others for all of your actions towards others and all actions by others towards you? Are you truly grateful for each and every experience you've had in life (the good, the bad, the ugly, and the blissful)? And finally, do you love yourself completely for who you are today, warts and all? The answers to those questions are what I believe truly matters.
