definitely should have bought abyssal instead of banshees. I don't really know why you seem to never think of that one. it does not only have way better tank stats but it also gives you and your teammates a lot of extra dmg
The reason why he got banshees is not damage but to make it harder for the enemy team to crowd control him. He had problems getting picks on lux or Brandt because of all the cc. Once he gets it he gets a pick on Brandt almost right away he even explained it in the video and that is when the game kind of started snowballing into their favor. Damage was not a problem at all. He can 1V1 anyone at that point. Neither was tankiness. Problem was that if he cannot get a pick right away he just gets chain cced over and over again. Besides who is he buying abyssal for? LB who has a life expectancy of a caster minion? he made an amazing call ;).
@@TheNeomare I understand the reasoning, I just don't think that its actually right in this context. Banshees on bruisers/tanks is always a bit meh, because they are way more likely to get hit by aoe and take damage in general (which refreshes the cd). If you rewatch, you'll see that he proccs banshees 4 times in around 8,5 mins of gameplay. He blocks 1 Aurora Q, 2x Brand E, 1x Ashe W. The shield didn't matter in any of these situations. What really helped him to get these picks (besides obvious mistakes by the enemy) was his overall mspeed. Tbf abyssal, as a last purchase instead of banshees, prolly hadn't changed anything about that either. My point is that he also talked about how he never really likes buying MR because he thinks that it neither makes him really tanky nor gives him any dmg. If that's his reasoning, then he should def consider buying abyssal and imo he should have done so as a second or third item. It was clearly just Brand, Aurora, Lux melting and almost bursting him down during midgame. We could ofc discuss his teams "macro"... but it's pretty obvious to me that while being actually ahead on LB and Rammus they could not win any skirmishes and teamfights midgame. At that time Singed was completely useless against their magic dmg and abyssal could definitely have helped LB (and Rammus) while she was still massively ahead.
@@Mmmh21 Look at it from the Brand and Lux perspective. You see a Singed running towards you and you know if he flings you, you are probably dead. You do have a stun/snare but it no longer works since he has banshees so you have to poke it of first and it is not really trivial to do because of his very high movement speed. So I respectfully disagree. I might be wrong but I think those 2 Brand E-s that he blocked might have saved him from stun since Brand needs to land 3 abilities now on singed instead of 2 to stun him. I think that is a big difference. If he misses even a single one and another ends up in banshees that's it.. he can't stun he is dead. I never felt like he was getting super bursted. I felt like he was being cced and slowly grinded down while being chain rooted and stunned. Once those run out aurora was able to kite a bit to with her stealth. I think going more defensive would just prolong the inevitable. Sadly it was not a sort of a game where he could count on his teammates he had to solo carry to win and I still think abyssal scepter is not a good item for it. I did not feel like LB needed more damage. When she was able to land her abilities she was deleting enemies anyway. Problem was when she got stunned or snared and killed. Can't help her damage if she is dead all the time. Also it is a champion that likes to do short bursts get in do damage get out. Hopefully you pick up a squishy or get it into a killing range for the next rotation. Stars really have to align that there just happens to be a singed there with abysall scepter when you do your combo as an LB especially since enemies will naturally try to run away from him or try to root and stun him. Its hard to setup. In general i did not feel like his team needed more damage anyway. They needed not to get picked of and group properly. Abyssal scepter would in my opinion not do almost anything. He however needed more damage because his teammates made some really poor plays. So in a way banshees gave him all that he really needed. Lot's of ability power to increase damage, some MR to reduce the burst a little bit and a spell shield was can be insane in some circumstances and which puts lot of pressure on the enemy team. Now maybe same can be said for banshees that it did not really do the difference but i really like the choice because it is solving a problem he was running into a lot, getting stunned and rooted. But even if it actually did not do anything it still had a better potential than Abyssal did. Although I do agree with you that banshees shield usually does not do anything at all in proper team fights since it gets poked off this game did not have proper team fights. It was were chaotic with lots of picks. I think they are already winning proper team fights because with rammus and singed doing interference LB just kills everything. But in situation where you cannot get a proper team fight because you have at least 2 bloodthirsty aggressive players on both teams Banshees all of a sudden becomes quite better. There is another problem with Abyssal on singed as well he is a sort of character that wants to run in, drop poison, soak some abilities and then hopefully get out, refill with warmogs and cleanup. He is not going to linger around enemies to properly apply the debuff. Also it turns out after the engage when you are waiting for warmogs to heal you up that is a nice chance to refresh the banshees spellshield as well. the 2 items go well with each other. As for the macro i felt like singed was super useful in every team fight. Problem was most fights were fought from behind with LB being dead and the ADC not really pulling his weight. Also rammus was not aggressive enough. He should have went in and died not run out so much. In a chaotic game like this is it crazy to see your main tank only getting killed 3 times. by not staying there and soaking the abilities he made things way more problematic for his team to do well. What's the point of surviving Rammus anyway? If he is the last person standing he can't defend at all. So yea there was a lot of problems in this game. Abysall would not solve these problems for sure and I think Banshees had a chance at least to help a lot. My opinion anyway :D. It is a very complex game so yea it is impossible to say what the optimal choice would be here. I think i might dig his Hextech Rocketbelt idea more than Abysall and Banshees. Would be very fun to watch. Although with his already ludicrous movement speed it would be hard to get some value out of. I would probably go Zhonias and just use it first time I get stunned or rooted because it was usually followed up by huge burst from enemies. Problem with zhonias is that his team was a bit crazy so he would just get cleaned up probably once it runs out. What do you think? Would zhonias be the best choice actually? Thnx for the discussion though it has been interesting :D. Cheers!
