One little tip for anyone re-amping in Reaper for the first time. Make sure the audio hardware send level is at 0 dB, as your default send level may be way below that.
Great video as usual and that trace sounded meaty. 🤘🤘

I get a high pitch whistle. I am doing something wrong.

@@leifhildebrandt1645 Sounds like you've got yourself a feedback loop somewhere. You can't send and receive on the same input output. My interface has four outputs, I output on 3 and return on input two and turn off record monitoring too

@@MartinvonBargen I got it to work. My DAW is Reaper, I turned the monitoring off to the track that records. Works like a charm now.

@@leifhildebrandt1645 I'm a Reaper user too and almost deafened myself a few times by having record monitoring on. Glad it helped. Best thing about Reaper is that you can now save that as a track template.

FYI, I have a capture of the Flesh Rot and a Digitech Death Metal uploaded to the Tracer Exchange.

This falls into an awkward spot for me. It's a couple years behind ToneX at this point which has built up a substantial Tone library. Not to mention a very affordable hardware platform to go with it. For $99 you'd think the capture process would be a bit more streamlined, it's essentially the same process as NAM, except NAM allows you to batch process the training which is great when you like to make a comprehensive set of captures. NAM also has a significant library of captures in ToneHunt. The tone stack estimator is cool but not a feature I ever find myself wishing for in products that don't have it. The capture community is only so big, and people only have time to make captures for a certain number of platforms. I don't see how STL ends up being the winner here and it doesn't make me want to leave ToneX or NAM at this point.

For me it does. Real pro user profiles. NAM has to many and unusable profiles. It’s like the beginning of it packs all over. Option paralysis.
