I wanted to comment on your rod rack , it is awesome, you do great work Hagan! Just got me a welder I’m gonna give it a try. Just got me a fishing pontoon. Can’t wait to catch some monsters👍🎣
50 years ago we used a chain on our anchor rope. That slows down the drift. 90% of my fishing is always controlled drifting. On the Tn river below Pickwick day and above the dam.
@@hagengrubbsfishing make us some video's useing chicken sometime please, CFDave gave you a shoutout, you an landon are very good, thanx an keepem coming
Rule of thumb is when water gets below 48 degrees, but it’s always worth a shot imo. Just have to slow everything down more and more as the water gets colder. Thanks for watching

Will you put a tutorial on how you rig your baits and do you have turtles up there o live in south Alabama and every time I use cut bait turtles is all I catch just curious if there is a way to keep the turtles from taking the bait
You are definitely right about anchoring up vs. bumping because I was just anchored on that hole you caught the 35 from two weekends ago, I marked fish but didn't get a bite! I've been fishing there and down around Kingston the past several weeks. Wife caught a PB 22lb flathead this past weekend.
I'm going to try learning bumping..it looks like fun ..kinda like dragging its more exciting than anchor fishing..thanks for the tips..you should come and fish the Mighty James River in VA..it can be tough sometimes but its also a goldmine when the bit is hot..great video..
I like how you showed the fishfinder screen to show people how to mark fish and structure. More videos of your fish finder with your fishing would be helpful. Plus im a garmin guy
Just depends on current and boat speed. On the Tennessee river and Ohio river 2,3,4 are very common. I would say 3oz is the one I use most. On the Mississippi they have to use heavier weights a lot because of the depth and heavy current. Thanks for watching👍
@@hagengrubbsfishing thanx Hagen I've been making weights. Found a 5 oz cannon ball mold cheap on Amazon after making some I new they were to big but could still be used for something.
Y’all always have a good time!!! I’m extremely honored that the way I talk has rubbed off on you two!!! Bumping is definitely my new favorite thanks to you!! Bon peche guys!!!
@@DieterMelhorn Well hopefully you get them turned on like everyone else. But thanks for all your great tips. You and a few others have changed the course of my life by teaching me how to fish. The best 2 tips I learned from you was chicken for bait (PLEASE keep doing more of those) and the reason I'm not catching fish is because there aren't any. I recently started traveling to new places to try, and finally started catching fish! I have now realized that in my home water there just really is no fish. Thanks again!
Catfish Dave sent me over. Good stuff, buddy. And great camera work! Every time I'd flick my eyes up to see the bend in the rod, the kid panned up to it. Really good camera work. Thanks!
Hey Hagen can you use that bumping technique throughout the winter? What water temp is too low for it? I enjoyed your video. Very informative and intertaining.
I've seen quite a few of your video Sir and in my opinion this is one of the better ones( of course they're all good)👍👍👍 you had skipjack catching, action pack blue cat action, and of course Landon and his commenting made it pretty darn funny🤣🤣 Y'all are a heck of a team👍👍👍 I've been crappie and blue catfishing and putting out videos for a little while but I still loves learning something new all the time and I can definitely do that with your videos😁😁😁 God bless you and your family too and have a wonderful Thanksgiving👍👍👍🎣🎣
Great video guys. Witch ramps would you recommend on the KY river to use. I put in the Salt river a lot at West Point so it don't have to be fancy. I have a 1440 jon. It's nice not to play chicken with barges from time to time.
Great day and great fish wow that was epic I go out with my three boys at least twice a month fishing even though they are grown now we really enjoy our time together Happy Thanksgiving buddy
Love the way you weigh the biggest and estimate the weight on the rest. Wish all the catfishermen videos I watch would do that. It is hard to tell sometimes just how big fish are by the videos. Dieter gets slime on the camera lens so its hard to estimate by watching.
Love the videos buddy. Got a question. What kind of camera do you use to make these videos? Anyway been watching a lot of your videos and love them. Keep it up Tight lines!

Can you use a double hook rig for all styles of catfishing? Like dragging or just even anchored up?
Absolutely, I use it for every style of fishing, thank you for watching.

Do you mainly bump below a dam; or do you use this in other parts of the river system as well? Thanks for sharing this method.
