He is the first person to speak on Takeoff with some sense! I really respect Yella, but he is a street dude so he understands how these things can happen. Love how he’s not trying to blame Quavo! Yella has really matured! 💜
I won't lie, I haven't tuned in for a King Yella interview in a while. But I can tell from the way he's described his lifestyle of juggling adulthood and bills. He's doing well for himself now. He sounds more matured as well just for a state of mind also. I'm happy to hear and see that for him. We need more evolution and maturity in our urban culture.
I'm not gonna lie I couldn't stand this dude before because of the violence he was promoting. Now I look at him as a different person, I'm happy to see he's using his brain. Not to mention I actually listened to the entire interview. Weird.
Gotta salute Yella for changing his life around and distancing himself from the violent street shit, one of his vlogs popped up on my feed the other day and was suprised cuz I didn’t know he became a TH-camr
I have alot of respect for Yella. Dude has grown to be a real man. He had me lmao with that pregnant roach stuff. Sign of a real man is when he can laugh at himself. I was never a fan of his music but as a man, dude is cool as hell. He is positive and honest and The young ones need to listen to Yella, for real. Hes been through it, made it out and I'd be shocked if he went backwards with things. I wish him well as I do the rest of the human race.
Yeah...i wonder whether a bunch of "righteous" people can provide the same excitement as the blood thirsty version, plus all the talk, the newspaper articles etc. All the rappers from chicago learning and becoming civilized would dismantle Drill music, which is a good thing IMO
I can't never get tired of seeing these guys that survive Chicago. The way they set up that city is crazy .. It's a blessing to see how much Yella and some of them make it out and succeed.. At the end of the day it's a whole world outside of Chicago and people can make it.. Your life is bigger than a project or public housing and you can survive if you apply your energy towards the right shit instead of the wrong shit anything is possible..I hope that one of these kids coming out of the project world wide see this energy in moving on with your life has it's up's and downs but you get to live a longer life without getting shot up or shot at everyday..#Living is better than dying young # Insurance is important if you are living in that life # lawyer is important if you are living that life as well
I’m from Chicago, grew up in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods. Chicago is bigger than the low income areas/projects. As much as I hate to admit it I never missed in with ppl that wasn’t in my economic class. Chicago is one of the wealthiest cities in the country yet O’BLOCK is what ppl judge the city from bc of media. I had to work in Parkway Gardens, otherwise known as O’BLOCK. I was stunned to observe the mentality in that area. What’s interesting to me is they invest their money in LV,Gucci, Amira, etc. They don’t wear the knock off’s they wear originals but live in the projects. The ladies hair is done, men dressed in expensive tracksuits, yet they don’t have anywhere of importance to go. There are a few that work, ‘do hair’, cna work nothing significant imo. Now not all of them are simple minded but at least 90 percent of them are. I love the magnificent mile, my childhood home, etc. More positive things need to be shown and discussed, not the ghetto gang banging mess.
I changed at the age 25 by the time I was 30 I was completely out of the streets I’m 40 years old now first year millennial 8/30/82 Father of 4 biological 3 not biological grandfather of 2
I changed at 30. In my 20s i would do anything. But on my 30st birthday i was in prison, my grandmother and short time later grandmother died, and as a result of these many influences i stopped living wild. But i get sucked back in from time to time and end up in my old ways, but then bounce back again to beeing positive
When you hang with criminals you get criminals shit ...... You can't trust everybody on Earth The only person I trust with my life is God The set up is Real on Earth
Yella is funny as hell. What he bring is humility and personality kind of guy you feel kind you could chop it up with. I'd chill wit em if I was in vegas!
I think God was telling Take off the same message cause somebody came out and said he was texting them telling them he was ready to go and really didn’t want to be there. Some times we go against the grain at the wrong time…. RIP
That's why I rock wit Yellow. Cause he tell the f-uped parts of his experience's coming from the Southside of Chicago where I was raised also. Two generations before him.
Bra I felt everything you said especially the bros over hoes part I always as man we should always rely more on our women than another grown man and if man doing that he's a damn fool fa me it will be God first and my lady over a grown man any day
He almost really said the truth, rappers are in jeopardy, all the dissing and talking shit about dead hommies and people's close relatives, thar stuff cuts deep and there is always someone tougher than u or willing to throw it all away because some of these cats really will have lights on there, but no one at home if u catch my drift. No guidance, no structure, no will power. And the more situations and drama they have, the more they get people to tune in. It's like rap is trash now, everyone sound the same, no difference of skills, no individuality, content is shallow , they not Separating they skills, it the label that manipulate numbers and all the shit. How u rapping and still doing the things thar will take it all away. Look at the influence and were u leading the young people.. As soon as u geya little notoriety, and some gs, u get killed or jailed. How u gone want to make it out of the ghetto , while u risking all to look a certain way
He is the first person to speak on Takeoff with some sense! I really respect Yella, but he is a street dude so he understands how these things can happen. Love how he’s not trying to blame Quavo! Yella has really matured! 💜

Right! No one joins gangs in their 30’s 40’s and 50’s. Heck, they don’t join in their 20’s.

GD’s sets/cliques and GD’s in particular ended up flipping to BD’s…Especially in the 90’s, on the “Low-End.”
