usually you don't see anything on the clay towel because the 'clay' part of the towel is black and the iron particles are also black. You see it more with clay because clay is always a light color, like gray, blue, or yellow. Also, if you've previously clayed your car within the last year or so, there won't be a ton of iron particles left when you do it the second time. To see if it is effective, you should do a simple feel test by hand on the paint before and after. The reason why some people do this with a ziplock bag is to minimize the chance of scratching when you rub your hand over the paint ot feel it. Another way of testing to see if it gets rid of iron particles is to spray color-changing wheel cleaner afterwards on the paint to see if there are any purple streaks which would indicate leftover iron.
Put your hand in a ziplock bag and rub the paint. If it feels gritty then needs clayed, if smooth it is good. I havent used this towel but I have a towel that works ok. Got mine off ebay
Your techniques seems like it needs a bit of improving... you need to only go up and down with the clay towel you were doing all sorts of different motions.... It looks like you were putting pressure on the towel you need to not put any pressure on the towel use the weight of the towel.
Thank you for your honesty man, I’m about to try these out myself. My vehicle is paint corrected all stages no issues other than over spray. Will it mar the paint, or take off over spray? I’ll be sure to follow up with feedback.
Back on here with results. I paired this product with Meguiars iron removing spray clay. Sort of a combo top clear coat surface and below the clear removal at the same time. Modified one of the towels and glued it to a Rupes pad. The Bigfoot DA worked great on speed 1. I say this before I took to the Cayenne by hand with the remaining towel. Using the spray and elbow grease the clay towel did a superb job. Also I wanted to note I did not need to correct the paint a second time. No marring whatsoever! Anyway for what it’s worth there you are.
The clay towel needs to be broken in, first on glass. Also, you need to clean after each panel depending on the contamination level. Similar to a claybar when you fold and knead the dirty contaminated side to reveal a clean portion of clay.

Use a medium grit towel those work the best in my opinion
