Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins
Sophomore 6’3 220 lbs
Ohio State Dwayne Haskins always envisioned himself playing for the Buckeyes & in his one year as a starter, he did a lot of great things. He almost lead them to the College Football Playoff. Even though they did not make it, he still finished his career with a Rose Bowl victory.
As an NFL Draft prospect, many believe that Haskins is the best QB in the class. While Heisman winning QB Kyler Murray is getting a lot of 1st overall pick buzz, Haskins currently projects as the better player at the next level based on measurables. Both can make throws all over the field & possess strong arms, but they also have different strengths & weaknesses. Teams that need a franchise QB will be looking closely at both come draft day.

There was NOTHING like watching Haskins air it out. Man he was a monster at qb. Probably some of the funnest games to watch in all my 30 years of buckeye football.
I just came from Troy Smith's, Terrelle Pryor's, Braxton Miller's, JT Barrett's, and Cardale Jone's highlights... and I have to say that Dwayne Haskins is clearly the best passer. The highlights from the previous quarterbacks are mostly an incredible feat by our amazing receivers, but Haskins' throws are true highlights!!

I'm so happy, beyond happy.. I've been a Redskins fan since I was in 2nd grade.. I'm 22 now.. needless to say I've seen my fair share of QB's. I don't think people truly realize how blessed we were with both of the picks we drafted in the first round this year, (both of them dropped to us as well, still can't believe it.) life-changing picks I just know it in my heart; for the first time in a long time my Redskins blood is electrified. J.T. Barrett did a lot of great things for OSU, but he also overthrew a lot of receivers.Haskins hits his receivers right on target.

However, every single TD pass has a lot to do with the amount of time his OL gives him. Zero to little pressure from the D.
His play style, aside from his accuracy, reminds me of Dak Prescott.

when I saw that we'd drafted Haskins, my first thought was that Burns and Sweat were still on the board and we should have gone with one of them. I'm a firm believer in building a team around the strength of it (which currently is the defense for the 'Skins) and having the other side of the ball complement it. And the best addition to this defense would be an edge rusher.
And then they traded 2 second round picks to get Sweat, and I was happy as could be with all of it. Happier still if we could add a good pass catcher.
I'm content with us taking Jones (was pissed af at first of course), him and Haskins have the accuracy but Haskins just looks so much smoother throwing that ball, little bounce and pitcher-like follow-through like Dak.

If you're talking about in DC, we could use some interior line improvement, and depth if recent seasons are any indication, but the O line isn't bad. Receivers, though... yeah, you're right about that. Hopefully between the defense and Peterson and Guice there won't be too much pressure on Haskins early on.
And of course, Tress Way doing his part to win the field position battle.

Ben played at a tiny school where he didnt have 8 minutes per dropback to read an entire field like this guy has. When he is hurried he, unlike ben, loses mechanics and makes mistakes. Also unlike ben , this guy is going to an absolutute trash disfunctional organization whereas ben the first 10 yrs of his career played for a model org where he could settle in nicely. The comparison is actually terrible. This guy will be a bust

I don't see that. Jason Campbell was not asked to throw a ton, while he was at Auburn. He had a good defense and the tandem of Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams in the backfield.

His inability to slide aside, I liked Campbell just fine. He got screwed with a new play caller every year of his career aside from Oakland, where they got off to a good start before he got hurt and they traded for Carson Palmer.

People that say this guy isn't accurate must be drunk or retarded I'm not saying he's perfect but to call him inaccurate is ridiculous. They also say all he does is throw crossing routes but look at all the deep shots he took and the ball was right on target. To be honest even those crossing routes are hard to throw if you wanna hit your receiver in stride so they can catch and run without missing a beat. This dude is like a sniper and he still has a lot of room for growth.
@Will Jacobs You can say that about many QB's they already did a study on that and every QB's performance goes down when getting pressured some do better than others but all their numbers drop in pressure situations. Go look at all the turnovers by accurate QB's like Brady and Breeze I bet almost every pick is the result of them getting pressured or hurried so your right the o-line can effect his play but Haskins gets the ball out quick so that helps
I've watched so much film of so many players for the draft and now I'm sick of football. I don't know why I'm watching so much film and forming my own opinion of players when I dont even make videos or it doesn't affect who my team drafts. Comparing him to Rodgers is a stretch because Rodgers has the best arm ive ever seen in NFL history. Haskins college career reminds me more of Jameis Winston if you ask me. I hope his NFL Career wont be like Jameis's though. I really wish Haskins could have been backing up a veteran qb for a few years so he could learn from the pros. Instead he has his job from the start with very high expectations. We'll see though. (Btw, anyone who has the slight bit of logic would rather have Tom Brady to win the game instead of Aaron Rodgers.)
