Sure you may fly your flag and say long live your country but this guy implements the elements of his culture into his music and his creations and teaches you about it. Gracias, Benito. Este álbum se siente en el corazón. When we're away from P.R. there's an emptiness that can't be filled.
I am Puertorriqueña, born in Ponce. Raised in NYC. Returned to the island in my late teen years. Went to the University in Puerto Rico Rico and have been working for 33 years in the Island. Been discriminated in PR for the way I dress, the way I speak, for my accent and have been told Gringa. Never in NYC. The fanatics followers in politics in Department of Education is high and other government agencies. BTW, learned to speak Spanish, which is a plus. Since I know both languages have been able to fit in to learn German and Italian (in progress). So give thanks to mix cultures, because as we learn to appreciate music, appreciate arts, we learn to appreciate cultures and respect the differences. Stop making fun of others for their differences!
I’m black, Gullah Geechee to be exact and I love Latin culture! When I think about the way you all preserve your culture is beautiful and your island is going through the same thing they tried to do to mine We’re more alike than different ❤ I’m also learning Spanish through music band my friends ❤ Bless up
My goal is to get back home to PR. I pray that in my lifetime every Puerto Rican will be able to move back home and live a good life and provide for their family if they so choose.
Bad bunny is a real man who cares for our Latino culture and our Island! This album speaks volume of authenticity and our love for our culture!❤ congratulations Benito continue your legacy!
As a 52 y/o Boricua living in the diaspora for 10 years I can say this album really hit a spot in my soul. I have cried and laughed at the same time. My 16 y/o said to me she really likes the historical references and asked me what does “piquete” means😂 People can hate on Benito, but what he is doing bringing this blend of music to younger generations is chefs kiss!

Thank you so much for making this and releasing it on TH-cam! I'm a huge fan of Bad Bunny but I don't speak Spanish that well. I want to become fluent though, and I am learning partly through studying his lyrics, but I'm not at the point where I can listen to interviews with him in Spanish and really understand everything. It's great to have some long-form content in English where he can really talk in depth about his new album, and I feel so proud that he felt comfortable enough to do this. I deeply admire his love for Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans all over, but I'm glad he was able to do this interview for the global fans! Hope he can bring a show to Europa some time soon ❤
This made me extra Proud to be PR 🇵🇷he made a point to use the people from the island to give them the opportunity to shine in this album❤❤ he uses his fame as a stepping stone for others as well! That is the most humblest thing I have ever heard. Thank you Benito for giving Puerto Ricans a voice in an Island that needs a voice. 🙏🏻🇵🇷 Viva PR!

I am so proud to hear him express the purpose of power , money and fame . It’s to make it and then to give back ! I have never looked up to artist that make it big and don’t look back and lift someone else.
At one point I was under the impression that Bad was killing Reggaeton with how Americanized his initial trap sound was at the time. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Un verano sin ti made me fall in back in love with the current Reggaeton scene. Nadie Sabe definitely made a similar impression for me. However DtmF truly bridged gaps in my life’s playlist. This is an Album I can imagine listening to with my Grandad whom is no longer with me but is who introduced me to Salsa at a very young age. He would of loved this Album. Gracias Benito. Gracias por este regalo.
Bad Bunny singing in his low register is needed for the topics he covers in these songs. I want to take a week off of work just so that I can hear this album on repeat without interruptions. Let's just say his lyrics is hitting the diaspora underbelly as well as the Island's lament. So profound. SMDH. A masterpiece.
12:45 This was me growing up. I'd get annoyed hearing bachata, merengue, salsa, and reggaeton, cause they'll play it 24/7. Now that's all I listen to and my parents will even look at me, say "I thought you hated this music"... I've grown to love where my parents are from, I've been learning myself about their country (El Salvador & Honduras) and can't wait visit them, as well as PR with my gf and her family soon since they're Puerto Ricans themselves
Loved it! Well, I never liked the inappropriate language in his music but I definitely admire him. Can't wait to listen to the new album... He did it for us!!! It reached my heart when he said that the project was done as an emphatic honor to those of us that have stayed out of the island for too long and have always missed the island deeply. I'm one of those people which can travel the world but if I don't go home to PR there is an emptiness inside my mind and heart. Consequently, I go home "inmediatamente" when ever I get homesick. Thank you Benito... Gracias hijo de Borinquen❤!
And truly, this is why in my opinion this may be his best album he’s ever made. Because truly, it touches the roots of salsa, Bachata, it’s a great homage to the African rhythms that it’s derived from. The new generation and your school can both enjoy fully! Bad Bunny is the man.!!!
My daughter is half pr, I can't wait to bring her to the island for her 1st birthday. I want her to know every single side of both her cultures and the history of her bori family ❤
I do also love the title, I always feel like at times I wish I could’ve taken more photos. That concept hits in a different way. Photos truly are memories that last a lifetime and though being in the moment is always important. photos allow us to relive those moments. so a powerful title indeed.
I lost my grandmother, mi Mama Rosa, back in October. I remember thinking to myself, I should have taken more photos. When I saw the title of this album, it hit me to my core. I've taken more pictures with me and my grandfather, Papa Nayo, and with family members. I understand not being in the mood for taking a picture when you're self conscious or when you're going through something. Looking perfect or the best you can is not what remembering is about. It's about the moment. The moment in time, distilled on the page. I regret not taking more pictures. I should have taken more photos.
Thank Podcaster. You have been carrying him through all the interviews, and he did well even with the language barrier. As you know he is so aunthentic two thump up
I think some statements about “making it” are a little misleading in a sense .. I feel like you can do that NOW that you’ve blown up but as a artist who doesn’t have much following it’s really hard to pave that “way” loved the interview ❤
More Puerto Ricans need to make salsa music it's beautiful and there's talented musicians out there that love it. I'm glad Rauw and Bad Bunny have brought this out more on the new records even tho Tu Con El is a Cover. that's my favorite song.
Him speaking Spanish with a prime American network, speaks to his authenticity.

Benito the great! Hands down one of the greatest artist out of the island. Been a fan since he came out the ice cream truck with Arca!!!
Glad to see Popcast finally getting the shine they deserve!
Can't wait to hear the album Benito
Benito you are such a good hearted person. Thank for always looking out for Puerto Rico. You are the voice of Puerto Rico. God bless you always.
GRACIAS BAD BUNNY!! For the most beautiful album ever!! We take to heart! 🇵🇷💜 for all of us the diaspora thanks for giving us a voice too!!
I am so proud to hear him express the purpose of power , money and fame . It’s to make it and then to give back ! I have never looked up to artist that make it big and don’t look back and lift someone else.
This new one makes me so emotional I have never lost sleep to an album before
At one point I was under the impression that Bad was killing Reggaeton with how Americanized his initial trap sound was at the time. Gracias por este regalo.
aaahhh these interviews are so good!!!
Show the world in such small island we so much talent not only in music it’s unbelievable
Great interview
12:45 This was me growing up. I'd get annoyed hearing bachata, merengue, salsa, and reggaeton, cause they'll play it 24/7. Now that's all I listen to and my parents will even look at me, say "I thought you hated this music"... I've grown to love where my parents are from, I've been learning myself about their country (El Salvador & Honduras) and can't wait visit them, as well as PR with my gf and her family soon since they're Puerto Ricans themselves
Hizo boricua 😂❤
Tampoco tenes en el oído en el cvl0
Puerto Rico love the island and I think i'm Puerto Rican now and this kid is so special..
Beautiful interview. Love him so much. His new album is so beautiful.
The album is going crazy, turism in PR gonna be in the sky
Puerto Rico for Puerto Ricans
Thank you so much for this new album. This is your best work to date. 💘
Working on purchasing a home in 🇵🇷, let’s save our island!!!!
How did you land the biggest star on this podcast!!? You guys are underrated and I’m happy you are getting recognition! Great interview👌🏼
Aguante PR 🇵🇷 desde Australia 🇦🇺 gracias Benito ❤️
Wholesome and organic interview. Gracias Benito por tu música, tu talento y carisma. Saludos a todos desde Colombia 🇨🇴🇵🇷
Let’s keep pushing the culture 🇵🇷
I love the way he expressed this. Such an artist❤
Album from Puerto Rico to the world
100! Buen trabajo muchachos. Gracias BENITO 🇵🇷
You are the greatest my love. Photographs are the whole way of remembering the special moments. Thank you for everything.. I love it with my soul.
5:35 5:39 5:44 eso es muy cierto… when you are far you feel that nostalgic feeling that stays with you for ever…
Loved this interview ❤
I lost my grandmother, mi Mama Rosa, back in October. I remember thinking to myself, I should have taken more photos. When I saw the title of this album, it hit me to my core. I've taken more pictures with me and my grandfather, Papa Nayo, and with family members. I understand not being in the mood for taking a picture when you're self conscious or when you're going through something. Looking perfect or the best you can is not what remembering is about. It's about the moment. The moment in time, distilled on the page. I regret not taking more pictures. I should have taken more photos.
Rockstar interview ! FELICIANO ! Light our 🔥 !
Thank Podcaster. You have been carrying him through all the interviews, and he did well even with the language barrier. As you know he is so aunthentic
two thump up
This is an awesome interview! 👏🏽💪🏽🇵🇷♥️
I think some statements about “making it” are a little misleading in a sense .. I feel like you can do that NOW that you’ve blown up but as a artist who doesn’t have much following it’s really hard to pave that “way” loved the interview ❤
Love Benito , this was a very good interview of how he really feels about a lot of things . 💕
Loved the album Benito. Thank you. I fcking cried 😂😂 i dont know what got me so emotional
Great interview! I loved every part of it. ❤
I’m Venezuelan but I felt the song LO QUE LE PASO A HAWAii
Great interview. beautiful job ❤❤
Great point 😊
More Puerto Ricans need to make salsa music it's beautiful and there's talented musicians out there that love it. I'm glad Rauw and Bad Bunny have brought this out more on the new records even tho Tu Con El is a Cover. that's my favorite song.
