I was apart of Lukumi and received a few initiations. The people told me that I could practice what they taught and still go to church but something didn’t sit right with me. My life was falling apart. I had lost everything, even my mind. But I found my way back to Christ and dismantled all those altars and threw out everything and literally my life has been restored and I have so much peace and joy these days.
I am so glad that God did not harden my heart.
    Thank you Jesus.

@@rasone9172 like I said, that tradition is full of demonic rituals. Don’t you got a ceremony you need to be at or preparing for? Because once I left that stuff alone and dismantled them altars my life has been amazing. Moved to California and it’s beautiful here.
Go be great. Go feed your ori some shea butter.

Simple answer is yes. Speaking from experience and comparing ancestral veneration to Christianity. It's one thing to honour people's legagcy but to lift them to something they are NOT is blindness. Ancestor cannot control our world. Demons posing as them (familiar spirits) can. The consequences of following them is never pleasant.
I really love what he said about discerning what is good in our cultures. I first came across this concept with inculturation in the Catholic Church. When done properly, it's the best thing!
This is not information overload. We don't have enough of these conversations.
BTW God specifically banned child sacrifice in Leviticus 18:21. It was done in worship to Molech. So yes, that was as good as witchcraft because it was an act of Rebellion towards God [1 Samuel 15:23]. Whether or not people were conscious of it, it was a sin in God's eyes and that should be the focus.
    PS
Please could you compile a booklist when guests like these come up? You could ask them to share it with you beforehand. Thank you.

That's only your experience, there is a whole difference, and plus have You really ever had contact or any connection with the African gods? If you have not contacted them nor had any type of sign from them then you can't talk about them, and also witch has a whole different means from this mainstream misunderstanding

It’s not ancestor worship. You venerate, acknowledge, and affirm your ancestors. It’s the law of physics that states that once something is alive its energy can never die but it transforms into something else. Traditional African science and systems know this but it takes someone like Einstein to say it before black people accept it. Guess that saying about their ice being colder…….never mind

Great discussion! Christ has birthed us into a new relationship as His bride, a family as adopted children and kingdom as His servants and royal priests. The world system including our human cultures are to be lightly esteemed at best or forgotten in comparison to what we have gained in Christ. I can support Brother Vance’s position if we caveat that position by acknowledging the following: our culture, my blackness and what survives post Christ is The Lords decision to make not ours. Paul counted what he had gained as dung that he might win Christ. Anything that is or appears to be sin within our culture has to be flushed. We cannot be distracted by any worldly affinities. Foods, clothing, attitudes and philosophies are all on the block for Christ. He takes our diversity and unites us in His kingdom.

I couldn't continue watching the full video. I do appreciate some historical information that the brother shared. But, he offers 'a bridge too far' for me personally to cross, with regard to his expressing the mythology of Christianity and the Bible as Truth and factually and archeologically accurate. Simple question?
How do you explain 'Adam & Eve's' birth as the beginning of humans per the Bible when archeology blatantly and factually disagree?
There are many contradictions like this that just don't add up. Everyone speaks of religion as though life began relative to their messiah's rendition or story. Few speak about humans prior to that, 1000s of years prior, when spirituality was written on hearts at birth, instead of in various altered books. ~ Kevy Michaels

Israel is IN Africa. Older maps, which of course now you can't find anymore show that before the term "Middle East" was coined, and then when pressed they now say it's part of Asia (mhm🙄), it used to be common knowledge that Israel is a part of the continent of Africa. Even in the 70's the many African pendants, medallions, etc depicted Africa as it was on the maps that were at the time still in circulation: with Israel. Maps of Africa today look weird to me with that big chunk taken out, making it look like a dent in the continent.

This man sat here and told us that North Africa and Egypt and Ethiopia were the dominant kingdoms in the whole of Africa … “before history began to develop in western part of the continent” this people is a man deeply roooted in Eurocentric thought. It’s one that places West Africa and the kingdoms that Europeans had less proximity to as not having history. The only reason he believes this is that it backs up his point that Christianity is basically dominant in Africa cos that is where all of African history is. Mind you Nok culture was present in Nigeria in 1500BCE, Djenne-Jeno was around 1000BCE and Ghana Empire is establish around the same time as the bible is being formalised.

English days of the week and months of the year are named after pagan deities or some form of pagan origin.
For example, every time we say Thursday we are saying Thors day, but we don't really mean we are calling on Thor or worshiping Thor.
I believe God gives us grace. We didn't invent our English language which borrows from so many other languages (Latin, Greek, French, German, etc.).
Some people don't like to say "God" because if spelled backwards it's "Dog".

Show me the scripture that says Christmas has anything to do with the birth of our saviour Christ!

      @darianlynch2687 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

There is nothing wrong with celebrating the actual days and feast like Jesus, but there is also nothing wrong with celebrating Christmas, which points to the birth of Jesus, and notice I said Jesus and not Santa. Some will try to point to Jeremiah 10 as to why we shouldn’t celebrate Christmas as believers, but this is false. Jeremiah 10 is talking about how many nations where taking tress and decorating them as gods, based on many things including what they saw in the Heavens, instead of just worshipping the true and living God who made the Heavens. Christmas is just a day to recognize Jesus Christ, which can be done on any day, not just that day, and it was picked to be December 25th to offset the celebration of the Winter Solstice. If you want to also give your kids gifts on this day that’s fine too because even God gives His children gifts, Matthew 7:11 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!”…..It’s all about Wisdom and Balance. Again, Jeremiah 10 has nothing to do with Christmas, but its talking about how men from many nations were making Idols of false gods from trees that were collected…..Psalm 115:1-9 - “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, But to Your name give glory Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth. Why should the nations say, “Where, now, is their God?” But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. Their idols are silver and gold, The work of man’s hands. They have mouths, but they cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see; They have ears, but they cannot hear; They have noses, but they cannot smell; They have hands, but they cannot feel; They have feet, but they cannot walk; They cannot make a sound with their throat. Those who make them will become like them, Everyone who trusts in them. O Israel, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield”. #WeCanCelebrateChristmas #ChristmasIsAboutJesus #RecognizeJesus #TrustJesus #HaveWisdom #HaveBalance #BeBlessed

      ORIGINS OF CHRISTMAS
There is no date in the Bible for Jesus’ birth, but references to the lambing season have led some people to think he was born in spring. So why do we celebrate his birth on 25 December?
December was party season for the Romans, like us, although Saturnalia finished on 23 December with the Sigillaria. This was a day of present giving, so it is compared to Christmas Day - but it’s the wrong date! Well, 25 December was also celebrated by the Romans, but as the birth of the sun god, Sol Invictus. After the Roman Empire converted to Christianity, 25 December was changed into a Christian holy day, and parts of the winter festivals were brought together into a new celebration: Christmas. The first recorded Christmas Day took place in AD 336, although this was celebrated on 6 January instead. It was moved to 25 December at around AD 354-60.

This is how you know that there is no one supreme being or god that is in control of everything and everybody. There are many doctrines that predate Christianity, Islam, and Judaism but if the one god of these doctrines which are supposedly to guide mankind created the world we live in then these religions would have come along with creation and therefore predate any cultural or belief system. Yet you have all these doctrines, religious concepts, and in the case of Africa a culture of matriarchy based on natural nature that where here long before even the making of Adam and eve.

Spirituality is not witchcraft, there are different spirits out there and its up to you which u identify with. The Holy spirit is one but budhists have spirits, even atheidt have a spirit behind them. Practice of witchcraft is something different to being Spiritual. We should not confuse things. If they follow ancestral worship thats for them in the same way any other religion prays to yheir gods. But practicing witchcraft is done all over the world, by al differnt races. As a Christian know what the bible says and know who you believe in and let the HOLY SPIRIT lead u. There are also some false prophets/preachers who operate on different spirits.

We have to stop this madness. Christianity did not originate in Africa. If it did, why don't we hear about it until after the death of Jesus by Paul. Yes Africans were introduced to it but we're not the founders of it. Paul was a Israelite from Benjamin. He wasn't an African.

    CELEBRATING SATURNALIA
Saturnalia was one of many Roman festivals that took place throughout the year. It started as a one-day event to honour Saturn, the Roman god of farming and the harvest. It included a sacrifice of young pigs at a temple dedicated to Saturn, which were then eaten at a public feast the next day. Originally it was held on 17 December, but over the centuries it was extended from 17-23 December.
This was a public holiday, and there was a joyous, carnival-like atmosphere in the streets. People gave each other gifts and ate and drank lots. Usually, Romans followed very strict societal rules, and everyone knew their place. But, during Saturnalia, these rules were set aside, and even slaves, who had hard lives with little time off could relax and have fun. Masters invited their slaves to eat with them, and even served their slaves themselves - unthinkable at other times of the year!
The information isn’t hard to find!
