- Sannie Carlson (best known as Whigfield) is the name of a lady with Danish origins who decided to make a mark in the history of pop-dance music by selling millions worldwide.
In 1994 she gained a place in the Guinness Book of Records with the song "Saturday Night" as the first artist to go straight to number one in the UK singles chart with a debut single. Her discography is extremely impressive including numerous hit singles all over the world & four studio albums, a career spanning over a decade which for a pop-dance act is extremely unusual.
After many years on stage Sannie has decided to concentrate on the other side of the music industry, writing & composing for other artists in the business, both DJs & singers with names such as the Grammy winner Benny Benassi, Adam K, Ann Lee and In-Grid.

WOOOW....I have finally found the song after 26 years of searching 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾. I watched this video and heard this song only once in 1996 when I was 8 years old at a female relatives house and it stuck. Unfortunately I couldn't ask my aunty because she died two years later so I have been searching ever since until today...25/13/2022.

So many memories... Was out in Portugal in summer 1995... This song was really popular at the time and was constantly on the radio there... Those care-free teenage days seemed like the edge of forever at the time - now it's all like a distant memory...

I suppose I never minded Saturday Night - although it did grate on me after a while - but this one has more oomph....more heart.

I remember about my dad just had brought it to home, this "single cd" from a demo commercial operation from his work (he worked into repairing big printing machines, mecanography technician, it's a dead work now), came also with an other "single cd" Corona - The Rythm of the Nigh
And as happy kid that we were, me and my 2 sisters put these CD in the player and then !!!
We danced and laughed lot !!!!

I think whigfield 2 is a great album, whigfield 4 and w are good, it was a a pity that no more singles got released in UK after 95... i think gimme gimme would have been a hit if it had been released in England in 96, sexy eyes too. Probs the other singles from whigfield 2 would have charted.

I remember vividly in 1995, I was 7, came home from visiting Cannock chase in the West Midlands. Turned the radio on and heard this song and immediately pressed record and taped it off the radio on a memorex cassette on a Panasonic boombox. Remember it was the UK cheers countdown. Amazing and still get that feeling when listening to it.
