Hi Anna and Ricky, I’m Guyanese and I enjoy watching you guys. It’s not accurate that most Guyanese use cassareep in their cookup rice. The majority of Guyanese use tomato paste for color.
@@joyjames1035 that’s good to know. Most of my friends are Guyanese folks and they do use casreep for the brown coloring of the meat unless they’re cooking stew chicken, then they use tomato paste. Some folks even cook the cook up rice without adding any coloring and that’s fine too.
