I like the way you linked the founding stock of Terran RG recruits to the Hmong and others like them in SE Asia, and comparing Corax to Curze helps emphasize that the Primarchs are still their own men regardless of the circumstances they were "born" into or whatever roles the Emperor engineered them to fulfill. This was a great entry in a great series, really well done.

Hey Inquisitor, great video as always. Your primarch project is some of my favorite content and I can't wait for the last one and what your take is on the Alpha legion.
One thing I wanted to ask is, what about the Ashen Claws? You mention how the title "Shade lord" is in use by the leader of the Carcharodon's, which is hugely suggestive of at least some kind of Raven Guard origin but I always thought the terran Raven Guard were separate. Didn't they become the Ashen Claws?
I think the Carcharodon's even deal with them sometimes as last as the 41st millenium, so I always thought they were a separate entity and the origins of the Space Sharks was a bit more questionable.

@@Instigatin thank you for watching and commenting! I admittedly forgot to mention the Ashen Claws in this video directly.
I think that both the Charcaradons and the Ashen Claws are/ started out being composed of Terran Raven Guard. The only difference was when the two organizations were founded. I think the "Charcaradons" were founded from the Terran Raven Guard when Corax was initially reunited with his legion. They were the Astartes of the original Nomad-predation fleets. The Ashen Claws were made from the Deliverers (Terran Raven Guard) that were kept by Corvus initially, but banished in the same way as the "Charcaradons" after the battle of Gate 42, making their own Nomad-predation fleet. I only grazed over the topic when I said that " most deliverers were slaughtered during the battle of Gate 42 ". Most, not all, I should have went deeper into that. That was a great question!

      @@inquisitorvuln I like this take.
Now I play the waiting game for my personal favorite legion, The Alpha Legion. It sucks having the 20th as my fav since I always have to wait until the end of these series :P
Seriously though, I've learnt something new about each legion from your videos and can't wait to hear your take on the last one.

@@inquisitorvuln The bit about Vietnam was honestly out of touch and maligning their freedom struggle.

@@whythelongface64 That has nothing to do with my political views, though, as you accused. Also, much of the lore of the Unification Wars and Horus Heresy is inspired by real world history/ battles, just twisted to fit in the setting of 40k. Much of the Emperors story during the Great Crusade is based on Alexander the Great. The Luna Wolves were based on the Roman Velites. Etc. I make a point in my videos of trying to find those sources of inspiration. In no way am I taking sides by talking about battles in history just because I mention them in my videos.

@@inquisitorvuln It was vilifying the Vietnamese guerillas and glorifying the American/French colonial collaborators, that's all I had to point out. Otherwise its a fine vid.

I think you mixed things up. The guerilla war tactics came from the Vietcong, the communist who fought for their independence against Japan and France and later against south Vietnam and the USA and its allies. South Vietnam was a state created by the French in response to Ho Chi Minh declaring independence. I personally don't mind historical events etc being used as comparisons in your vids, but it would be good if you represent it correctly. Overall your content is great, but this part gave me a bit of a whiplash to be honest.
