good tutorial and helpful @ about 31 minutes, you used two arrow dice to kill two villagers. But the succubus does not have a ranged ability. Did you mess it up or am i not understanding something. The rule book is not the best.
Awesome video! My wife and I have been having a great time with this game. I have one question that I can’t get the answer to. On SETUP you spawn a card for each spawn point even if they aren’t active yet. What tier do you spawn the inactive spawn points on setup. An example is mission 8 where you start with one active spawn point is active at tier 3 then one inactive that will trigger at tier 2 and two spawn points that trigger at tier 1. So on setup do I spawn all of them on tier 3 or just the active one at 3 and the others at tier 1 or is it spawned at the tier that they would trigger? Thanks
I am not seeing where the rules say to start the round with a Village Spawn? It makes sense to me to do that first but it seems like the rules suggest that the monsters take the first action? I know in your video you start with a spawn... can you explain why/where you saw that? Thanks!
I went back and watched it again and I did a village spawn for setup and than once the game started the first phase in each round is the monster phase. Let me know if this clears it up or if not let me know what the time code is for where you are seeing that.
Unfortunately, it probably won't help you out as it's 2 years since you posted but I've only recently got and played this game but my answer might help others. The rule about initial Villager Spawn is on p6 of the rulebook, SETUP section, item 6: "6. DEAL VILLAGER SPAWN & TRAP CARDS. Finally, deal a Villager Spawn card for each Villager Spawn point and place those miniatures on the map. Deal 1 Trap card onto the Game Overview tile, and you're ready to begin!"
Great vid. Thanks. Q- Are there only up to 3 traps used in a game? Once you reveal the 3rd trap card slot available, do any of those cards get removed or "recycled"?
Thom Grogan There are many different types of traps but only 3 trap slots so if they are full you don’t discard one and draw another. You’d have to lay one down to open a slot up. We have purposely laid down traps that don’t really help to open up a slot to maybe get a more useful card drawn to the display.
Hi, thanks for the video. It's very usefull. I've the italian version of the game. I've read the answer to the post of BouRou and I've the same doubt about tier values. In any part of may rulebook I've just found this information: "scenario 4 when setting up you would set village morale to 20 and spawn at tier 1, once you reduce the morale to 0 by eliminating villagers with traps than you reset the village morale to 14 and spawn at tier 2. finally when you reduce the morale to 0 you will reset the village moral to 7 and spawn at tier 3"... that is your explanation. The rulebook not say to reset the Morale whenever the gear reaches the 0... Its a FAQ??? Thanks.
Can somebody explain this to me ... What does it mean Tier 2: Always or you know Tier 1: 20 or something. Does it mean that from the Tier 2 there will always come villagers and the number means that there are going to be this many villagers and then they will stop spawning from there? and also...just to make sure Tier 1 is the red Tier 2 is the blue and Tier 3 is the Yellow right?
Thanks for the question, I will try to clear this up for you and I will break it down into different sections. first you are correct on the cards the large numbers are the number of figures you spawn and under each number is a roman number showing the tier. tier 1 is red, tier 2 is blue, and tier 3 is yellow. From there it depends on the scenario you are playing so if we look at scenario 4 when setting up you would set village morale to 20 and spawn at tier 1, once you reduce the morale to 0 by eliminating villagers with traps than you reset the village morale to 14 and spawn at tier 2. finally when you reduce the morale to 0 you will reset the village moral to 7 and spawn at tier 3. and the final part of your question there are some scenarios that will have special instructions for spawning. So if we look at scenario 5 it states that villagers always spawn on tier 2 which means that each time you draw a spawn card you will look at the blue tier two and spawn that number of figures. Also in that mission you will continue spawning models each turn during that phase until you are able to get the castle heart to 20 health. I hope this helps clear it up and if not let me know what is still giving you a hard time and I will see what I can do to explain it better. thanks for the questions and for watching.
@@LearntoPlayGames Thanks a lot! I didn't know that you need to play all the tiers in scenario 4. Because i asked and they told me that the Tier 2:14 and the Tier 3:7 is just in case you decide to play in a harder more and spawn from a harder Tier but by choice. So for example , at scenario 4 if you choose Tier 3 you start that game at 7 morale. But maybe im wrong. Thanks for all the tips though! Very helpful!
Is there a minimum amount of monster Heroes you're supposed to use? I tried to solo the first mission with only the vampire but within two turns you get totally swamped by villagers and the castle heart is destroyed.
When attacking the gravedigger you do two times two dammage to him. The Gravedigger card states ‘may only be dealt 1 damage per round. So shouldn’t the gravedigger be still alive with 2 health? Or am I playing this wrong?
Finally someone who did a well-made tutorial ! Thx ! I was about to drop this game . The manual is so confusing ... thx from Italy :)
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching and posting;)
Thanks. This was so helpful. Played the game once a year ago and this was just perfect to refresh the rules😁
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and posting.
Thanks for the video! My husband and I are looking forward to trying the game tomorrow!
Your Welcome, hope you guys can hold back the villagers and there is an expansion coming to Kickstarter soon as well that looks cool for this.
I didn’t back this game first time, but this october I definitely will :) seems very interesting to me.
It is a great tower defense game and I love the theme;)
Excellent video mate! Subscribed.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting, I will be doing a follow up soon covering some of the expansion stuff as well.
Also thanks for the Sub it really helps.
Brilliant you and the rule book are fantastic cheers
Thanks so much, Glad you found the video helpful;)

Perhaps I played wrong but I feel there’s not enough minis in the game as you run out quickly. Other than that I’ve found the game to be pretty fun.
I can see that. I have not gotten to play it enough to say for sure but I could see that being an issue.
Well once you run out of minis, you start activating the villagers on the board for every mini missing.
Great vid. Thanks.

I agree with Boardgame Barbarian you will need to use a trap in order to get a new one out. Thanks for the question and for watching.

Thanks for posting and that was my understanding of the rules I will see if I can get an official answer for the creators.

Yes there is I think it is 4, but I will check and get back with you.
you take 2 of of each spawn so if the villagers says 3, youd only do 1.

No you are correct I missed that during filming good catch;)
