I am very proud to have Grischuk's signature on my chessboard, when I met him at the WCC in Warsaw this December. This man has balls. He tells the truth and he's honest. For me, he already won this tournament whatever the results are or will be. Listen to his comments after the third round. "Are you getting in your element?" - Grischuk: "no", "Are you feeling the appetite for more?" - Grischuk: "no". This man is not pretending. I love Grischuk so much. I'm semi new to chess still, and know very little of all the players, and seeing Karjakin defend the war. I was scared that more Russian GM's would. But it's so incredible to see, that Karjakin is the only sub human pos that deserves to burn in hell.
All other Russian GMs spoke out. And Grischuk most explicitly of all. I love him so much. Him and Nepo. It's even more incredible, since they could actually risk imprissonment of assassination because of something like speaking out against the government. Yet, they are probably some of the most capable of speaking out, because of how important chess is in Russia. They probably have some of the strongest, and hardest to remove voices. So again, I really love Grischuk. Slava Ukrayini. And ban Karjakin, or Better, since he loves this war so much, throw him on the front line of it with no weapons and no clothes. I absolutely hate Karjakin. Along with anyone else who supports the murder of innocent people. But thank you Gischuk for not being like them.

Other people have mentioned it below but it bears repeating. Grischuk is great, but Andreikin is by far most vocally opposed to Putin in general and the war in particular a chess player. He and his wife daily repost information about war crimes that Russia commits in Ukraine, and he was pretty vocal before the war started. Now I fear for his livelihood and, frankly, his life if he stays in Russia. I hope that he would be welcomed in any Western country, had he made a choice to flee seemingly unavoidable eventual persecution.

Probably it was long because it was coming from the heart and maybe he was just waiting for this platform to voice his opinion. It's shows that it's not only affecting people of Ukraine but also affecting the Russians too and many of them are not in support of what Putin is doing. It's just a terrible thing to witness. Heart goes out to all the innocent souls who are suffering because of this.

I really wonder, sure interviewers need to keep the topic interesting, but sometimes it feels like they are trying to pressure the interviewees to speed up or round up their story which is so bad. I need to hear all the man wants to say, no matter if I agree or disagree, that's most important to me, hear his full story.

Me and all my friends from Moscow are in deep shock and stress today, what Sasha is saying is super accurate way to say that he is shocked and do not support this thing. We do not control this, this is very bad and wrong.,.

Maybe other players are waiting for an interview as well. He also could not find a good justification to his interruption, I guess he just didn’t think it through. Grischuk could not be entirely mad about it since the reason the interviewer gave made no sense. Anyway he should have realized it was time to make an exception on any rule of interview length he was given. Mistake and lack of empathy or no understanding of the seriousness of the situation.
