How from Dupree to GG in such a short time is just baffling, never mind the divine providence in finding Kerry Minnear and Gary Green to kick things off. Just wow.
Thanks so much for making these available. Gentle Giant is one of my greatest sources of inspiration as a musician, and any insight into their classic period is much appreciated.
They tried, but it was just too many in the band, and they couldn't find stages big enough for them all. Splitting the earnings, 30,005 ways proved impractical for everyone. Also they couldn't make the performances work without someone out front conducting, as the tempo would drift alarmingly. Thankfully, Gary Green had the talent of 30,000 guitarists!
I could listen to things like this all day 👍🏻

Them finding Kerry was a godsend.
Yes. To me, he was the glue that brought everything together.

And the sound, the chemistry was there, since the beginning...
Anyone else hear the makings of IAGH in the background, around midpoint of the interview?
I guess that's someone nearby just hammering around. But it does sound familiar. 😄
Wow 30,000 guitarists!
