@@dand7056 I’ve seen videos of y’all splitting live oak down there, but I’ve never tried it. Our stringy, very hard wood is hickory and this little fella does fine on hickory, for what it’s worth. Thanks-Brad
I enjoy watching someone else using the ol' Harbor Freight splitter! I learn quick techniques you are using. Those large red oak rounds are no match, splits like butter! Is that a salt lick, or bird feeder hanging from the tree in the background Brad?
Thanks for the video, still holding up good? Good height? Is the control lever comfortable or kind of a reach? Trying to decide between this and the Boss dual action at twice the money. Replacing my Husky splitter.
@@Iplumb27 great questions. Holding up good. I need to use it soon, I’m behind on firewood this year.. i remember thinking the lever was a little out of the way when I was watching videos before I bought. I even saw someone put a PVC extension thing to make it closer. But I’ve never really thought about it since then- must be ok! I’m short, but the height seems really good. I’ll try to measure it today. I would just bet that your Husky seems a lot more ‘solid’ or heavy compared to the HF, at least my County Line is. But I quickly learned how to split wood on this one and it’s lasted for years now. I’ll try to post the height later today
@@nelsonridgefarm I did, very limited, only product width of 41.38 inches. Is that the cylinder area? Or whole motor with hitch tongue... But thank you for your reply.
I have the same splitter. I’ve split many many many many chords of wood with it. I love mine.
Awesome Mike!
Thanks guys… fixing to order one and was looking for reviews
That is pretty sweet Brad. That design is a real head turner.
Thanks again Gary!
Leave it to the Army to come up with all the really cool stuff 🤣🤣🤣.
That was great Brad
Thanks so much!
Good Morning Brad. Your videos are great to watch. I really like that splitter it splits both ways. You take care
Wanted to say thanks very much!
Great splitting action. You were making fast progress with those big rounds
Thanks Joseph
is the air cleaner stud to the carb loose? Wing nut doesn't look loose but the filter housing seems to be moving around a lot
I Will definitely check it, thanks for the heads up!
I just ordered one today...Thanks for the review..
@@bigred7347 thanks big red!
Where did you buy it? HF is out of stock. Link please.
@@TheTruthAsEyeKnowIt online ordered...not a single one in any store around me. It's a great machine.
Do you this splitter can handle live oak? It is tough stringy hard wood that grows here in Florida.

Those are pretty good little spitters for the price and do a good job also
Kinda slow but it’s faster than a ax
Yessir and thanks!
Brad looks like some good firewood. Hard to beat that white oak.
I like white oak too Ben!

I still love that splitter too Steve!
It looks like the splitter works well. Where did you get the 4-way wedge?
Thanks Dan. Walmart.com
That white oak takes quite a while to dry. Good to see you getting jump on it early. How’s your current firewood inventory looking?
I’m low on inventory Joe!
Wrong time of year to be low on inventory. My phone is blowing up today. Had $1960 in sales this week
Between your two splitters , which one do you like best ?
I think I really like that little red harbor freight one.

@@nelsonridgefarm appreciate it! Do you end up using this one more than the county line?
@@Iplumb27 sorry. Doing hay all day, will try to measure tomorrow. Def use harbor freight one much more. I like it better. I’m much faster with it
How wide and long is the unit with and without the tow hitch ?
