Thank you Torley for staying with SL/LL through all these changes. You are a constant that oldtimers can rely on and trust. I hope LinCorp lets you off your lease so we can share your evident joy in SL again.
A couple of things that got glossed over in there, tho. After one rezzes the box to unpack its contents to inventory, one should then take or delete the rezzed box. Some sandboxes are only reachable by people with a Premium account rather than the free account. Also, some of those mesh garments are designed for a specific avatar type and won't fit correctly on other avatar types. For instance, that cute outfit from Loki Eliot, IIRC, is intended for kid-avs and won't work on a grownup av.
I agree some sandboxes are Laggy and some people still grief I'm happy that i have my own land to rezz things on. two good sandboxes i can think of is Bone yards and Curious sandbox To use Bone yards you have to pay a fee to join their group and curious is free :D
I am coming from Sims 3 where I have nearly complete control over how my avatar there looks. Is it possible to have the same control in Second Life and, if so, what would this cost, roughly?
Lol these SL videos are getting desperate! Also when I played SL (I have not played in about 6-8 months) only the exclusing high end shops were in SL and would never dream of putting any of their items on the MarketPlace... is that still the case? The Marketplace just always seemed to be everyone using premade sculpties or meshes and throwing their own textures on it... so basically everything looked the same and lacked creativity

Their is so much more customization in Second Life, you have complete control over your avatar. You can earn free lindens (currency) or buy your own.
