Hey guys! Our pony fields can get muddy in the winter so here's so tips to clean! Hose their feet, then dry them a towel, once they are dry brush the dry mud off with a hard brush. Works like a charm every time! Hope this helped! Also I feel like Sam should have a pet of his own like Sophie said a goat Sam and Sophie should have one and take care of it themselves I think it would be really good
I highly recommend investing in leather or breakaway halters for your horses if they are going to be turned out in halters. It's best to not be turned out with halters at all but I understand that sometimes it's necessary. Hopefully Storm can heal quickly and all the horses settle in

I have to say that in yesterday’s video I really wasn’t sure about the new barn but after seeing the inside of the barn and both arenas it looks a lot nicer :). The tack room looks really nice as well. I know that it’s really hard to let other people care for your horses after you just had them at home an you were the only people caring for them. It’s so amazing how the boys are sticking together. I will say that I don’t really like the cement in the field but I do understand that it is only at the entrance. I hope they start to eat and drink more! It was so heartwarming when the boys ran to the girls, both sad and so sweet. Harry my dog just got neutered today! He came out of the vet in a huge head cone and he looked so sad in it and he kept running into everything. We are getting him a smaller one so that’s good. I hope the boys start to adjust to the new stable soon. Love ya!

The bay Queen if you watched one of the last Vlogs she says they are bringing them home after the winter because in the summer they can ride them outside the only reason they moved them was so they could ride in the winter at that barn!

I really think you should ask the owner or whoever turns your horses to take the halters off because they could potentially get themselves caught up on something and in the worst case scenario even kill themselves. It get super muddy over here too so what we do to deal with muddy feet is we hose down their hooves and the very lower part of their legs. They won’t get cold either if it’s cold outside because it’s only their hooves

Laura have you tried Sorel boots, I have a pair and really like them for our Alberta winter! They are particularly good when spending time doing winter activities out at the cabin because the sole of the boot keeps moisture out. I also find that investing in good quality socks goes a long way to making a boot warmer.... also please note my two cents on Hunter boots, my pair are nice, I've had them two years and they're still going strong, its cool that you can get specific inserts so that you can wear them into the winter (I have the fleecy sole), but do note they are expensive for a rubber boot. When mine eventually die I don't think I'm going to buy another pair cause they are just too expensive, they really were a treat, that turned out to be fairly practical rubber boots.
for Storms cut you can do exactly what you did plus vet wrap and a standing wrap to hold the bandage up and then that's it but only in his stall should the standing wrap be on, my horse cut up his leg like that and that's what we did and its been 2 weeks and its healed now.
I just get the mud off with a stiff brush or the side of the hoof pick to scrape it off if its hard dried mud. Make sure you get the mud from the fetlock off as well.
I wouldn’t really say he’s aggressive. He doesn’t terrorise other horses, it’s just the herd dynamic and storm knows he can be on top and wants to be herd leader x

I live in the North East of the U.S and it gets pretty cold here, the boots I have always keep my feet warm. They are called Bogs and they aren't fully rubber. They're really warm and great for winter if you're interested!

I was thinking, that if you were worried about horses loosing shoes, I’m not sure if you have seen them, but you can buy special turnout hoof boots (I call them space boots lol) where their whole foot goes inside them. I’ve used them on various different horses ranging from retired thoroughbreds to stallions PRE’s and they’ve always done the trick!! ☺️
That wasn't heart breaking that was heart warming, they heard their people and they said omg my family I love you guys, I'm coming! The boys will settle in, it will be hard but they will be good
I used to think manuka honey was overrated but it’s awesome for healing! We had to dress some sores and wound that couldn’t be stitched and it was a godsend never known a wound heal so quickly and well. I had to eat my words as I rolled my eyes when people told me to use it!
I found that the warmest boots are the ones that are tighter around the calve. I also really struggle with the cold, especially my feet! I also really love wool lined socks! I just hate when hay gets stuck in the wool😂

IMHO Storm’s joint looks swollen to me. Especially because of his sensitivity towards it. I trained all 36+ horses I’ve owned to come to me by using the word “cookieeesss”. I had my Tennessee Walking horse, Liberty, trip and fall while gaiting up a dirt road with a slight incline. I feel off and he took off running back to the trailer 1/4 mile away. I yelled, “cookieesss twice”. He stopped and came running back to me at which time I took a horse cookie out of the saddle pack and gave it to him. He cut his knee to the bone. Uggh!!! Training your horses to the word cookies is a great trail riding safety net. Horses get loose and run off. for a variety of reasons :)) :)) :))
I really like my Baffin winter boots they are the only ones that keep me warm in cold Michigan weather. They have a ton of insulation I think you guys should check them out❤️🐴

get Muck boots for winter! they're the best for farm life and they come in styles that are made to ride in!

You can also use furazone ointment, it has a fly repellent in it

I was thinking, that if you were worried about horses loosing shoes, I’m not sure if you have seen them, but you can buy special turnout hoof boots (I call them space boots lol) where their whole foot goes inside them. I’ve used them on various different horses ranging from retired thoroughbreds to stallions PRE’s and they’ve always done the trick!! ☺️

I used to think manuka honey was overrated but it’s awesome for healing! We had to dress some sores and wound that couldn’t be stitched and it was a godsend never known a wound heal so quickly and well. I had to eat my words as I rolled my eyes when people told me to use it!

I found that the warmest boots are the ones that are tighter around the calve. I also really struggle with the cold, especially my feet! I also really love wool lined socks! I just hate when hay gets stuck in the wool😂

IMHO Storm’s joint looks swollen to me. Especially because of his sensitivity towards it. I trained all 36+ horses I’ve owned to come to me by using the word “cookieeesss”. I had my Tennessee Walking horse, Liberty, trip and fall while gaiting up a dirt road with a slight incline. I feel off and he took off running back to the trailer 1/4 mile away. I yelled, “cookieesss twice”. He stopped and came running back to me at which time I took a horse cookie out of the saddle pack and gave it to him. He cut his knee to the bone. Uggh!!! Training your horses to the word cookies is a great trail riding safety net. Horses get loose and run off. for a variety of reasons :)) :)) :))

I really like my Baffin winter boots they are the only ones that keep me warm in cold Michigan weather. They have a ton of insulation I think you guys should check them out❤️🐴
