I am passionate about our history and the preservation of heritage. It is vital that detectorists comply with all laws including Heritage Act 2017 that protects historical cultural heritage sites and artefacts. In Victoria it is an offence to disturb historical archaeological sites or remove artefacts from sites. Make sure you understand all applicable laws before commencing detecting activities.

Great hunt Luke! The garden tap that Luke number 2 found dates from the mid to late 1960's onwards, because there is a thread located where the water comes out of the tap to attach the garden hose. The earlier taps never had that thread, instead the hose was attached with a rubber boot and clamp. This is consistent with the house dating back to the 50's and 60's. Don is amazing!

Good morning Luke, Here I am moaning and groaning about the jobs I'm doing, thinking I'm getting to old to be out doing heavy physical work, when Don's out there digging trenches, and he's 21 yrs older than me, I guess it comes down to saying to yourself, Don't stop till your dead. Trouble is I'd rather be digging holes while out detecting than for stump hole digging, there just not as much fun involved. Speaking of stumps, Ive got to go get some concreting sand so I can finish off my current project, well at least the beginning of it! Good to see you out in the paddocks again. Well I had best get my but into gear or I won't get anything done, Cheers Luke!
How about that hey @wayne armstrong it sure does put things into perspective for me too mate. I am decades younger but some days complain about over doing it...then there's Don!😆 No rest at all and working twice as hard as the average man even at such an age. He is a credit to himself for sure.
Some concreting sand for a job...this sounds interesting mate. Great to hear you are keeping busy...I'm with you though I'd rather be off digging holes detecting. Hopefully more to come soon though, cheers heaps Wayne. Take care until our next adventure mate🙂👍🤝⛏️
@@DigItDetecting It worked, I got started on the job, stopped for a lunch and a cuppa, started to get dozy and wanted to close my eyes for a half hour, No sooner did I think it, When Don popped into my head. I got off my butt and got back into it, And finished that part of the job. Don certainly put me in my place. Thanks Luke, and thanks Don! Cheers!
